i9 7900x

Hi so I’m having a bit of a dilemma. I’m stuck between two pc builds . The first one is an i9 7900x with no gpu and that cost about 375 and I’m thinking of buying a rx 6600 to pair and that is about 170 .
The second build is an i7 10700k with a 3070 for about 470 Obviously I know this is better but the issue is it’s an omen built pc . I’ve heard about the heating and it’s not good things . So I’m wondering if the heating would seriously affect performance and I should just go for the first build or I should stick with the omen build and it’s not that big of a deal

Well, it's the difference between Windows 11 being hacked and Windows 11 running 'base metal'. I'd for sure go with the newer CPU and better GPU for a small additional cost. This of course assumes that the better CPU/GPU also comes with commensurate components such as SSD, case and PSU.

But would the cooling be a big issue ? . That’s what I’m worried about with the newer cpu

A i9 7900X? Do you mean Ryzen 9 or do you mean a i9 7900K?
Whether either would be a better deal we would need more info honestly, mainly no info about the ram and existing parts in the $375 machine (especially if it has a shit psu and you end up needing to also replace that for a GPU)

Power supply is 650watt corsair, ram is 24gb ddr4

Yeah i forgot the X series even existed, which shouldnt be that hard to remember because Intel LOVED the “Xtreme” Branding. Was dumb knowing regular K named was used in X series depending on the gen. Then they moved to KS and whatever they use now
