Does anyone think the temerario Is gonna sell well? At it's price point
asimo3089@reddit
The price is over the top and the design, IMO, is a little watered down for a Lamborghini.
Multifaceted-Simp@reddit
I don’t think it will. I have seen many reneneos but no temerarios. I think the hexagon lights killed the car
kuri-kuma@reddit
Probably. Maybe not completely sold out like the five years post-COVID, but the rich are richer than ever. Lamborghini will probably always sell well.
BWFTW@reddit
We are living in a k shaped economy. There is more options for sports cars close to a million dollars then there at 150k and below. Like seriously think about how insane that is. The amount of companies that have sprouted up offering 1-5 million dollar cars.
cookingboy@reddit
I know everyone hears that, but I don’t think people actually realizes how fucking absurdly cash rich the top 1% is these days.
I deal with VCs from time to time both as a startup founder and an investor, and it’s kinda insane how the universal message these days I’m hearing is everyone has so much more cash than they know what to do with. VCs raise larger than ever rounds from their investors and family offices and PE firms are sitting on the largest cash reserve in history, don’t know what to buy anymore.
There is a reason why the stock market is at all time high despite all the shit that’s going on, because the economic reality of the large shareholder class is completely detached from the rest of the society.
And what’s really worrying is that detachment is only accelerating.

We are on the path to the plot of Elysium, better buckle up
DankeBernanke@reddit
I'm concerned about the social and economic sustainability of this going forward
cookingboy@reddit
I’m not just concerned, I’m terrified. Something will break catastrophically, and most of this country is brainwashed to be against any sensible solution such as social safety net.
DankeBernanke@reddit
Lol I live in China, things are chill here. I agree with you though.
On a car related front, how do you like your Boxster? I'm thinking of getting a 981 as my first ever sports car and am really excited at the prostpect.
cookingboy@reddit
The 981 GTS was the car that made me love Porsches, and still one of the best sounding cars out there. It’s the reason I got a 4.0 GTS in the first place, even though it doesn’t sound as good as the 981.
caterham09@reddit
We've actually hit the point, where the middle class (the most populous group) is so insignificant to the actual economy that they don't matter. The majority of people are struggling, but because they are such a small amount of the money in the system, all the numbers still look great.
caterham09@reddit
It's the classic "I made it car". Way too many people who get lucky and hit it big get into a lambo

I think it's gonna have a harder time selling than the Huracan. The major question for me is if the plan was to sell lower volume than the Huracan at a higher price and higher profit. If the plan was to sell similar volume as the Huracan, I think they will fail.
Op3rat0rr@reddit
Wage gap increasing. Yeah
costafilh0@reddit
It will, at first.
Then, saleswwill fall, hard, making Lamborghini consider bringing back the NA V10 and making it a lighter hybrid with less HP.
Even if it means making the V10 the cheaper entry level, it will be much more appealing for those not going for the Revuelto.
HiIary4Prison@reddit
The reason why the Temerario’s starting price is much higher than the Huracan’s is because of the insane transfer of wealth which has been occurring since covid. You can apply this to majority of luxury goods. My Huracan optioned out was $290,000 pre-tax. The Temerarjo is $180,000 more in Canada ($670,000 all in a/ tax) for a similar spec and they’re currently all sold out at my dealer.
Fuck that.
peopeopeopeo10@reddit
I think they overdid it. The selling point of the Huracàn was it wasn't strictly an enthusiast car, but mainly a super fast "tank" that was reliable and super easy to drive
This Temerario is too drive focused, too extreme to appeal to its default customer base. And also price wise it's an exaggeration.
mellofello808@reddit
I think it will do well, but the figures will certainly be lower than the Huracan.
It still has a v8, and sounds good. The styling is still mostly sexy, and it is hyper car fast. However there are a lot less customers with $5xx,xxx to spend than $2xx,xxx.
SergeantBacon101@reddit
Interesting, going to a hard top convertible now.
NISMO1968@reddit (OP)
Right, and that’s actually another interesting move, because everyone else, I mean BMW, Audi, and Merc, have moved back to soft tops. Choosing a hardtop here feels unusual, especially considering these cars are not typically used in winter conditions.
Torczyner@reddit
C8 seems to have the hardtop convertible solution nailed though.
TaskForceCausality@reddit
It makes sense for supercars like this. High performance is paramount , and that includes drag reduction at high speed.
For a “normal car” like a BMW/Mercedes/etc powered hardtops are more trouble than they’re worth. Besides the obvious stuff (trunk space etc) , the bigger issue is maintenance. Damage the top - including the rear window- and its thousands in labor and parts to repair. An Infiniti tech recounted billing $22k when another customer accidentally broke their G37 convertible rear window after folding the top with an item in the trunk.
Put cargo in the wrong place in the trunk and you’ll break the top. If a plastic thingie snaps in the guts of the powered hardtop you’re out thousands just to diagnose the issue, and more money to actually fix it. Powered hardtops are cool, but they’re a major headache for customer and dealership.
The older the car gets , the worse the issue becomes. For non-exotics, softtops make way more sense - especially when we consider that someone with the money for a convertible these days also has an SUV or two for day to day use.
EfficientTourist7480@reddit
C8 htc is also (you guessed it) hard top
NISMO1968@reddit (OP)
Yeah, definitely not the cheap ride.
desf15@reddit
While all brands you mentioned switched to soft tops in last decade or so, supercar markets went in other direction. All Mclarens, all mid-engined Ferraris, and even Maserati MCpura are hard tops.
NISMO1968@reddit (OP)
That’s my point! I just don’t get why... I always thought people bought hardtop convertibles to run them year-round, while soft tops were more of a summer play. Plus the soft top is lighter, which actually makes more sense for race cars, while family saloons just don’t really care, so logically you’d expect Lamborghini, Ferrari, and McLaren to lean that way, while Merc, Audi, and BMW stick with hardtops. In reality it’s the exact opposite, and that’s what makes it confusing...
reward72@reddit
Hard tops make no difference in winter - they don't keep the car any warmer. The only real difference is that hard tops are a little more noise insulated and less likely to be damaged by theifs.
NISMO1968@reddit (OP)
It’s not really about warmth, it’s more about convenience... Clearing snow in the office parking lot when you’re about to leave home, driving with the roof up, and seeing a "normal" interior instead of canvas just makes daily use easier. Source: I’ve owned a few convertibles, both hardtops (E93 M3 and Merc SL), and soft tops (Toyota MR-S, Honda S2000, and an Audi S5). Never drove them much in the snow anyway. Funny enough, both of my S2000s had hardtops, and I used them... Never!
reward72@reddit
I drove soft top convertibles in Canadian winters for 20+ years, I never found them inconvenient, but I can see your point.
NISMO1968@reddit (OP)
Wow! I only did one real basically Canada winter up in Duluth, MN, running a soft-top convertible, a Saab 9-3 Aero I was sharing with my GF at the time, and honestly it was kind of a mixed bag... Thank God it was FWD so it wasn’t totally useless, but the second I could swing it, I ditched it and hopped into a 4WD Ford F-150 and never looked back. Man, I can only imagine how brutal winters get up north in Canada!
reward72@reddit
Good winter tires make a huge difference. A Miata on studded tires can literally run circles around a 4WD Jeep on four seasons.
NISMO1968@reddit (OP)
It might, but clearance is the whole game here. I virtually never dig my Wrangler out of snow, steel bars front and rear plus full skid plates just let it bully through like it owns the place. A Miata though, that thing turns into a gym membership, grab a shovel and enjoy your good 30 minute workout before you even roll out of your driveway.
reward72@reddit
For sure. I did get stuck quite a few times in mine, it is easy enough to push though. (I owned both Miatas and Wranglers)
desf15@reddit
In 2 seat supercars roof is relatively small, and there is a lot of space behind cabin for something flat. So you basically have one big panel on a hinge that moves it mostly horizontally (mclaren) or just flip it 180 degree (Ferrari, Maserati). It seems to be less complicated than Z folding sof top. And if you take into account how small the roof is I don't think it will have any noticeable impact on weight. Also you can make this roof glass, which gives more light in cabin even in bad weather, and in most cases I would say cars probably looks better when roof closed.
NISMO1968@reddit (OP)
Oh, I see now, thanks for the clarification, that actually makes perfect sense!
uniqueusername4465@reddit
Apart from last years Ferrari Roma spider (okay that’s front engined) and this years Ferrari Amalfi Spider (mid). Soft tops just take up less space.
Snuffl3s7@reddit
The Amalfi is not mid-engined.
devilishpie@reddit
Technically the Amalfi is mid-engined. It's just not behind the driver.
uniqueusername4465@reddit
Huh I thought it was for some reason. I stand corrected.
VelikBatafuker@reddit
The Amalfi is the updated version of the Roma
BWFTW@reddit
What's 100 pounds extra for the hard top when your car already weighs 4200 pounds.
TaskForceCausality@reddit
Back in the late 90s/mid 00s , there was a market for daily driver convertibles like the old Chrysler Sebring. It made sense to spend the money for a powered hardtop option when the market was bigger.
Nowadays those people buy Wranglers. So the market for those cars dried up, and modern shoppers don’t buy convertibles as daily drivers. Someone with the coin for an M4 convertible already has an X5/ Mercedes GLx SUV /etc , so that convertible isn’t leaving the garage unless the weathers nice anyway.
costafilh0@reddit
Bazillion HP and 2 tons.
Who cares?
The top could be made of lead at this point.
Multifaceted-Simp@reddit
Still has those god awful hexagon lights
costafilh0@reddit
Does it have a V10?
No?
So fvck off!
EfficientTourist7480@reddit
It sounds really bad, huracan >>>> to the temerario any day of the week
TS040@reddit
oh wow, kinda surprised that the Temerario Spyder is already out testing but there’s been nothing in regards to an open topped Revuelto
peopeopeopeo10@reddit
Ive been told Revuelto wont be possible to make as a convertible because of chassis limitations
While there will maybe be a Fenomeno Spyder, but that'll be a highly experimental few off. Whenever the actual Fenomeno starts getting delivered...
0621Hertz@reddit
That sounds like something the Sales reps are throwing around to get people on the fence to buy the Reveultos sitting on the lot.
I think Lamborghini is undecided if they want to make it a convertible or a roadster.
