(I haven't visited but I'd say it's one of my favourites, of the Balkan countries).

I do like you though. I respect your right to perceive your identity however you want but I personally, no offense, think that you're basically de facto Romanians rebranded by the communist. You're to Romanians what ethnic Montenegrins are to Serbs lol
What's funny is that Serbs usually like both Romanians and Russians so basically whatever Moldova do we approve 😄
dicky1977@reddit
I don't think that most "ethnic" Montenegrins share that sentiment.
Professional-Fee-488@reddit
I don't know what your goal here is but they most definitely do, my roommate at uni was from Montenegro and him and literally all of his mates considered us to be the same people, I also worked a lot with Montenegro airlines ground and flight staff for many years during mid 2010s, absolutely shared the sentiment with my old roommate, we both consider each other to be the same people, call it what you will.
dicky1977@reddit
I also have Montenegrin friends and neighbors (Donji Štoj), and they definitely don't share your views. I don't know why my ethnic background is important in this debate since you are not a Montenegrin either.
Professional-Fee-488@reddit
Your every single reply to any post where Serbia is mentioned is just oozing pure hatred and bitterness, so yeah your ethnic background matters. Also I absolutely do not believe that you have any "friends" from Montenegro that wouldn't agree with what I wrote, well unless they're albanians like you.

We, Serbs can't enter Moldova because "wE diDn'T iMpOsE sAnCtiOnS tO rUsSiA" and some other things considering their elections or something like that.

Should unite with Romania. It’s mind boggling to me that the majority of the population doesn’t want this.
SOHONEYSAME@reddit (OP)
current leader of the regime supports it.
however, majority of Moldavians don't, according to polls.
in fact,
recent census - 77% "Moldavian" (v 8% Romanian) & 50% speak "Moldavian" (v 32% Romanian).
Prigorec-Medjimurec@reddit
It is somewhat Balkan.
If they want to unify with Romania, they may. If they want to stay independent that is fine also.
If they want to join the EU without unifying with Romania that is fine too.
However if they join either with Romania or the EU, what happens with the various autonomous republics within Moldova?

Mostly Known for Gagauz Turks living there. They converted Christianity instead of Islam and lived in Balkans, today mostly in Moldova and Ukraine.
Other than that I don’t know much about it.
