She always said “it’s difficult for me to go”. Please tell me I’m not the only one. Northern California. She also purchased from supermarket chocolate soda wtf

The problem isn’t aging, it’s our diets. We don’t eat enough fiber and have to supplement it. Also, hydration will help. Bump up your intake of fiber and water and you can skip the Metamucil.
UrsaMajor7th@reddit
All the fibre in the world may not help if you never get off the La-Z-Boy. Get up and walk somewhere- and not to the fridge.
SGFCardenales@reddit
Accurate. Go for a walk. Ride a bike. Get a stationary bike or a treadmill, but get rid of the excuses and get moving. Save your own life.
Trolkarlen@reddit
It’s also some medicine people take.

Three of the four meds I take for my condition 'cause constipation', which is not good for my condition. Funny, that.

Metamucil is just Tang Instant Breakfast Drink for adults.
And it is one of the greatest products to ever exist. 😎
squirtwv69@reddit
I love the stuff! I’m pissed it’s gotten so expensive 😡
TheJokersChild@reddit
Generic not do it for ya?
squirtwv69@reddit
I’ve never tried the generic. My experience with generic stuff is it isn’t as tasty so that is why I’ve never tried it.

So I can still pretend I'm an astronaut? Kick ass!!!!

Drinking lots of water helps too. Most people are dehydrated and that causes all sorts of issues.
If you pee isn't light yellow, drink more water.
ExaminationFancy@reddit
Metamucil is now my dessert drink before bedtime.
Yep, I’m old.
TheJokersChild@reddit
That's what I do. I call it a psmoothie. Couple spoons of brown unflavored psyllium in milk, then a dash of whatever flavor creamer is in the fridge.
willingzenith@reddit
After having some polyps removed at my last colonoscopy, then finding out my cholesterol was high, I drink this stuff 3 times a day.

Not a popular thing but my morning cigarette and coffee works like a charm

Instead of colon cancer you can get lung cancer and emphysema.
fridayimatwork@reddit
I never have a problem going. Eat more vegetables and legumes
Techchick_Somewhere@reddit
Magnesium works for this AND works for sleep and you can get some awesome gummy versions.
GalianoGirl@reddit
Unless you have IBS-D, then you get to spend the night on the toilet.
Mugwumps_has_spoken@reddit
Stress induced IBS-D is even less fun. Esp when it triggers a day or so AFTER the stress trigger event. As if once your body knows the crisis is over, all hell breaks loose.
I will say, a little product called "Heather's tummy tamers" that I picked up once at CVS is a miracle. Stops the horrible cramping. Which allows me to get through the entire thing much easier.

There's a reason we used to joke about old people eating prunes.

Ever since my hemorrhoid got removed i take six pills (about two T) of psyllium husk powder daily and everything is consistent and reliable.

This reminded me to take my psyllium husk - thanks!
IGotOverGreta@reddit
I sing myself a little song when it's time for psyllium husk.
Gotta drink my goop If I wanna poop

I eat about 5 pounds of apples a week. Do my business every day without fail. Toast with peanut butter and raisins before bedtime works quite well too.

Never had a problem with being "regular" until menopause hit. Unfortunately I'm also on a GLP1, so my gut has slowed dramatically. Eating fiber gummies has been my most consistent medication.
