This poor boat washed up very close to downtown Seattle. Does anyone know its story?

It was supposed to be a three hour tour...

On starboard tack. Had right of way over land.

looks like he got some jib rolled up
and--
always easier to reef the main on stbd

Heeling but won’t be healing?

Ackshuly the land was on same tack, but the boat was to windward, so the land had the right of way.

Boat was jeep clear boat but the land didn’t give the boat room and opportunity to avoid.
Uncle_Bill@reddit
The land was down wind of the boat which was supposed to give way.

Stand on vessel or stand on shore?

Starboard won't get you far with a lee shore.

I do know her. We met at a regatta once and had a good chat over drinks afterwards. Sad to see her go like this

Struck by a speeding e-bike, no doubt.

Who has right of way? Starboard tack boat or an e-bike?
carnalasadasalad@reddit
Boat has right of way unless e-bike is towing or engaged in work.

It's a short story, grounded in reality

Shame. Apparently the old owner is contacting the new one. Chafe gear is a must!

Where is this exactly, looks like it could be south of West Seattle, near the ferry.

Myrtle Edward’s by the new trail construction area

Oh, near the PI Globe. Wonder if it was sinking and they grounded her. A few years ago another one sank along there, near the Expedia campus.

Maybe this guy assisted?

Sad to see a Dufour Arpege in that condition.
