I'd have to say either the M9A4 or the Squalo. The Performance is freaking sweet too. Only one I've been disappointed with really is the splinter camo XI, only because the cerakote application specifically is ass. I'm probably going to refinish that one.

Not home at the moment, but to sum it up just imagine that you rattle canned something and the layers were thick enough that you could catch your fingernail on it. That's basically all over the gun. The layout of the camo itself was fine, it just didn't seem... professionally applied, I guess?
To be clear, I still think the gun is worth the price I paid (assuming the rebate pays out like it's supposed to), but I'll definitely be stripping this one down and practicing cerakoting on it myself. In contrast the other ones I've picked up have been gorgeous. M9A4, the bronze was so, so nice. The Performance looks super premium and the Squalo is definitely my favorite with the dark gray finish. Maybe it's just that the splinter was getting the unlucky bystander effect of the other 3 looking top tier comparatively.

For the aspiring Beretta autists - what’s the deal with this model?

Threaded barrel. These things adn already gentle, but shoot stupid flat with a comp, and make great suppressor hosts.
Suppressor height sights (always oos and expensive). Tall enough to be usable with optics.
Optic ready (buy a dlah, elevel71, or titan tactical design plate to mount low).
Flatter vertec grip makes it easier to reach all the controls and it presents more like a 1911.
Single action only with frame mounted safeties. Can swap any normal 92 part in except the sear, so easy conversion to da/sa. Mine has a drop in LTT NP3 trigger bag and some small filing on the stock trigger to allow double action. Could also just throw in whatever trigger shoe you want.
A friend has one with the 2Patriots SAO flat trigger, Mcarbo spring kit, and flitz polished engagement surfaces. Shoots better with a better trigger than any mid level 2011 I've tried. If you send it off to LTT for a trigger job and NP3, it would rival the best 2011s. All while still being properly reliable.

Hey friend,
Tell me more about taking this back to DA/SA. I picked up a non tactical 92XI from the deal the other day, and the SA only is the only thing I didn't like about it. I've just always wanted a light and optic on my basic bitch 92FS.
Is there like a specific part I can order from Beretta or elsewhere to just drop in while changing as little as possible otherwise? Not sure how different the triggers on these are from the standard 92. I did the D spring mod on mine but that's it.

Swap the hammer with a da/sa hammer and either get a non SAO trigger shoe or remove the metal nub on the stock trigger shoe that stops it from going forward into double action. Once you remove the stock trigger, you'll see that one side protrudes further near the pivot point. Dremel or file that side down to match the other side. I swapped the whole LTT trigger bag minus sear into mine
The frame can accept all normal 92 parts, although the 92xi specific sear has a cutout allowing the frame safety to work with it. A normal 92 sear won't work with the safety. It does use a normal sear spring either way, so you can swap in a lighter one

Threaded barrel, suppressor sights, pic rail, single action only. People seem to dislike the location of the safety of you have larger hands, i don't mind it though. Feels great in my hands, I'll be shooting it Friday for the first time. It's a great suppressor host of course.

I thought I liked the safety on the GTS or whatever the DA/SA version is until I shot it. Several mags wore my hand/base of thumb out. Not sure if this one is any different dimensionally and swore off frame mounted safeties/decockers as I actually don’t mind the slide mounted anyways but I get I’m in the minority.

I'm going to take this opportunity for an "old man yells at clouds" moment and say that the Samurai Edges didn't have the goddamn rails ruining the nice crisp lines of a Beretta 92.
Safety in the proper location as God and John Moses Browning intended is nice though.

If you think about this as filling the niche a 2011 fills you're on it. Even the name is a pun on the role- 92XI (9211).
Frame safety which is neat but not the traditional DA/SA Beretta.

Also the only model with suppressor height sights, which you need just to cowitness with red dots on RDO plates. Can't really buy those sights separately; there are similarly tall sights sold, but they generally conflict with plates without a good bit of dremeling off the front of the rear set.

if you buy from kygunco, use your 4473 to apply for the rebate. Their receipts don't have all the info you need to get your rebate and it's a hassle to unfuck that, and they won't reach out to inform you that it isn't enough

When I bought my 80x last year, their rebate form wanted the serial number on the receipt. Which most receipts don't include, at least in my experience. I've never purchased through kygunco though. But the retailer I did buy from was super happy to help me and issued me a reprint with the serial included, and I think one other thing that I can't remember now. Something silly, like the date or something. I was cutting it close with the deadline so I wanted to make sure that was clear. I got my rebate in less than a month, it was pretty smooth

I already have one of these (as well as several other threaded 92 variants). This is an absolute steal. Just ordered another one and will kit it out with some G10 grips. Trigger works out over time. The only thing I don’t love is that the silver is a gloss cerakote with a little shimmer; would prefer polished metal, but for $558 with the rebate, who cares. Also, makes a great suppressor host.

Hey I just ordered one as well. What plate do you recommend for rmr cut, magazines and I couldn’t tell but does this come with 2 or 3 mags? Do you run any mag extensions ? This will be my first beretta I mostly run Walthers and 2011s. Do you have the Beretta 92XI Corsa or Gara what I really wanted but missed the last sell on them. Thanks for any help

I like the Dlah designs plates generally. My recollection is that it comes with two mags; the upper end ones like the Gara have three. As for extended mags, the beretta 20-round ones with metal baseplates/extensions are good, as are the MecGar. I think the Berettas balance a little better. I have a Beretta 92XI Corsa, which is excellent, but not much different than this 92XI in terms of trigger feel. I also have a 92x Performance that I really like, but it is pretty heavy. Helps with recoil, but a little tiring to shoot. You’re getting a superb gun - I would just change the grips, add a magwell and a red dot. A light will bring down the muzzle flip. If you can’t run a silencer, check out the brakes from Griffith Guns.

Broke me as well and I had already broken just a day earlier for a good deal on one of the bronze "Overlanding" M9A4s. Guess I'll have two Berettas now. I was gonna get the Lunar model too but couldn’t see why I would spend $1100 on that for seemingly no difference other than finish (and it DOESNT have suppressor height sights).
I found one for 1099 and kept it in my cart for a few days but got this instead. Will be selling my standard 92XI to a shop once I get it… or convert it to my “competition” 92 and get the comp for it. We’ll see.

It’s very different. This is single action, performance is da/sa. This is much lighter than the performance. Performance doesn’t have a threaded barrel. Like a chihuahua and a pit bull are both dogs but very different

I purchased this about six months ago. Mine was also the 15-round mag version.
This is my favorite pistol to shoot. I got the dlah low mount RMSC plate and a Vortex enclosed dot which gives a nice lower 1/3 co-witness. You could put a larger dot if you wanted to, but I didn't want a big cube hanging over the edge of the rounded slide. Also my front sight yeeted itself never to be found again after probably 300-400 rounds, so maybe you should make double-sure your sights are staked in good.
Really tempted to pick up another one since I have a comp mounted on my 92XI but I really want to try one of these with a suppressor...

Yeah, I've got 4 Berettas now (I guess 5 if you count the one I just bought tonight) with this same frame and I really like the slightly more narrow feel. Especially with the super rough grips on my Squalo. I've got pretty medium sized hands though. Some people like the OG fatter style.

I've heard they're pretty damn particular. I plan on providing a copy of the 4473, the sales receipt from the website and for the transfer cost at the FFL, if they allow, photos of the matching serials on the packaging and the frame. In the past I've even sent them screenshots of the tracking info showing shipping notifications and delivery confirmation. Definitely overkill, but I've never had a rebate denied before.

I believe my gun may be having inconsistent lockup or too much play. When they slide is in full battery, the barrel moves more than any other gun that I own.
