I'm drop and hook dry van and my arms and elbows are injured for the constant spinning of the crank for the landing gear. Is there an easier trucking job than this?

Just hit the gym dude, you're acting like a girl. Raising/lowering your landing gear shouldn't be a bothersome. The way I see it is quick exercise to wake up from a long drive. Are you disabled?

Jeez and I work in the food service segment of trucking. Ouch I stubbed my finger while picking up a box of potatoes.
Sea-Radish3964@reddit
Bruh! You got boxes? Mine were fucking bags and I swear every damn stop ordered like 50 damn bags and you can only keep like 6 or 7 bags on the dolly before they all try to slide off.... that and the bags of onions, same bs.
SidePsychological189@reddit
Sometimes they are bags but I do a lot of Texas Roadhouses so they come in boxes, onions come in bags
Sea-Radish3964@reddit
Ok. Fair enough. I'm guessing mine was cause it was a Mexican food distributor i was driving for. EVERYTHING came in weird seemingly non standard packaging.

Flatbed, for sure, you'll love it.

Have you thought about taking a shot of concrete and hardening up princess?
PoopyStinkbutts@reddit
Too many lot lizards, you're not jacking off enough to maintain that crank arm
buckytuba1@reddit
Wait till you spin the crank and it hits you on the chin, knocks you out and you wake up flat on your back when a pigeon poops on your forehead
vanishing_point@reddit
That happened to me and all I saw was Grandma and Elvis saying "Walk toward the light."
MITCHATRILLION@reddit
what kind of Boomer nonsense is that? I swear 90% of Reddit is weird bots trying to be clever and it makes no sense. no normal person would say something like that.
misight@reddit
For real you can mess up your elbow from whipping the crank around
mrdoza@reddit
Everyone should leave the legs a few inches off the ground and drop the air bags to set them on the ground nice and easy.

Yall he's trolling. Hes been trolling the sub for quite a while now and yall still fall for it every time lmao
Quirky_Tour3301@reddit
This. Although heโs died down a bit. Busy with lot lizards?

I unload my own trailer and i find it to be less burdensome than dropping 5-6 trailers a day. Ill gladly move 10k lbs a day by hand before cranking 5 trailers up and down
deezkeys098@reddit
You donโt have to crank it all the way up. Just up enough for the railroad tracks if any
Quiet_Molasses_3362@reddit
Only fans? Get trucked by miles of wang and someone will pay to watch.
AndrewSS02@reddit
And here I am with truckers knee. I'd rather have issues with my arm than this.
Ok_Internet_5058@reddit
ya i head victoria secret was hiring
Flimsy_Map_4425@reddit
How many hooks a day are you doing? Are the trailers well maintained? Good maintenance makes all the difference.
18SpeedKenworth@reddit
maybe an ice cream truck but then youre exposed to dangeously cold temperatures and could freeze your hands off totally

Man I feel you on this one. Back when I was in military we had similar issues with repetitive motions during equipment maintenance - that constant cranking will mess up your joints real quick ๐
Have you looked into getting one of those cordless drill adapters for the landing gear? I know some drivers who swear by them, makes the whole process way less brutal in your arms. Also flatbed might actually be easier in your body long term - yeah you're doing more physical work but it's varied movement instead of that same repetitive cranking motion every single drop.
Local delivery gigs could be good too since you're not doing as many hookups per day. LTL companies usually have better equipment and some even have those fancy automated systems. The pay might be different but your body will thank you later. I've seen too many guys push through joint pain until they can't work anymore - better to switch before it gets worse ๐
