I live in Brazil but I still use Mullvad for my torrents, not that I’m worried about my ISP snitching on me, it won’t happen, I just want to hide my actual IP from strangers
They don't really care about torrenting other than recently-released movies/TV shows, and even then, the worst that will happen is you get a whiny letter in the mail 1-2 weeks later asking you to stop.
RiseUpVPN is free and works to keep ISPs off your dick. They have a lot of marketing about how they're trying to support free access to information or whatever, but they're almost certainly harvesting your data; it's a free product, how else are they paying for it?
Don't use em for anything really illegal, but for getting left alone by your ISP it's what I use.
Exact and precise, we don't give a fuck about a piracy. Our government recently tried to pass a bill forcing us to pass our IDs to watch porn or some shit, just like everyone else is doing, but Brazilians couldn't care less about that shit.
As a Brazilian not everything is a fucking favela everywhere too, this is kind a shit stereotype that gets thrown around all the time, and it's honestly a pet peeve of mine that grinds my gear all the time because orhow stupid it is
Everywhere else that isn't some fancy rich neighborhood kind looks like a favela, specially if you are in the southeast or at the northeast, but it's far from the truth saying as if was almost everything. For example, my city has a favela, but most people actually live on the poor neighborhoods, not at the favelas. Which is similar, but not the same shit, have some respect and learn something, even if you're an uneducated anon posing as a BR on 4chan
Plot twist: copyrights holders, loaded with cash, pay a hundred bucks to couple of local gangs beat anon up. It would be not only much cheaper than legal action, it would be also more effective.

We got a letter from some American lawyers years ago accusing of us of downloading copyrighted movies.
We wrote on the letter something to the effect of please prove it and when you do what re you gonna do about it? Your laws don't apply here.
Didn't hear anything back. Still don't bother using a VPN to download whatever I want. Nothing is going to happen.
