The new Outlook won’t open any PDF files.

Okay, we are having issues with the new Outlook app. It’s not opening any PDF files or showing any preview for those files. Classic Outlook is working properly, but the new Outlook is not. Here are the steps I took: I reset the app from the settings, I restarted the app, I uninstalled the app, I cleared the cache and deleted the cache folder, made Adobe Reader the default app for PDF files in the settings, and installed the latest Windows update (25H2). Even after doing all these things, the new Outlook is still not showing the PDF files, nor is it allowing me to download the files. When we try to download them, it shows a ‘something went wrong’ error.

Microsoft changed it a while back for security reasons

Are you saying there’s no fix for this issue now?

Use Classic Outlook like a normal person?

He's saying it's not a bug it's a feature

Lmao, what kind of feature is this, where you’ve blocked a specific function for users to make their life hell?
SlowkayCoomer@reddit
The kinds of users who needed PDF's disabled from being opened in Outlook for security reasons were the ones making life hell for everyone else.

Well, I understand that sometimes certain PDF files come in emails from spammers that contain links where users can accidentally click and compromise their accounts. But that’s part of training—users can be trained for this issue, where if they recognize a suspicious email, they should not open it and instead send it to IT so they can handle it. Why can’t they leave it to organizations, where if they want, they can create group policies to disable PDF files in emails? But blocking it for everyone is just not right. Thanks, Microslop.

Found this on a Microsoft thread that might help. Had this issue with new Outlook as well and it ended up working for me. This didn't work for everyone though so take that as it is.

I already tried this, and unfortunately, it didn’t work for us. Thanks.
