ULPT Request: Guy keeps using my number

So, there’s this guy in Utah, who evidently has a very similar phone number to me (I’m in Wyoming). I keep getting texts and calls for this person. I won’t say the guy’s name, but I will say it has zero relation to me, or anyone I know.
The things I get are often, but not always, political in nature. A charity for supporting cops is one, texts for political candidates and issues being voted on in Utah is another (this is how I know he’s in Utah). Often gets texts from house remodeling people (likely scams) and others. I’ve gotten many calls asking for this person too.
Getting rather fed up at this point. I know not to give my number out online or otherwise willy nilly, but this guy doesn’t seem to understand that. So, I’m also wondering how one can teach him that lesson, but mainly something to deal with the problem.
Also as an aside: I don’t know his exact number, but the issue seems to also include his typos, not just my number but with a Utah area code. I also can’t find much info on this person via social media.

I think you found your new "send the junk messages and political stuff too" number.

Your number is in a database, and I think it's being sold. That's why you keep getting all of these things about politics. It might have been one error on his part, but that number is now being sold with HIS metadata (name, etc).
I have a similar problem where some chick, like a decade ago, entered my number, and I think once a month I'll get a text for Mackenzie or something. And I'm not Mackenzie.

Yeah, mine is a dude who used mine for Petco. Hate it.

I kept getting phone calls for Julie. Men that lived on or around US military bases would call and leave messages for her. I answered one of them and said that he had the wrong number and this was the 10th call I got for her this week. He said no I met you last week at a party in Atlanta. I said Julie gave you the wrong number and hung up on him. I had this number for three years before I got a call for her. I talked to Verizon about it and they tried to pressure me into getting a new phone number.

I just didn’t answer an unknown number and blocked all text messages from unknown numbers. Idk who she is but she was giving out my number. It stopped about three months after I started blocking people.

About half a dozen different people keep giving out my email address because theirs is the same, with a number at the end. They keep forgetting to include the number. I started screwing around with people who send me emails meant for the other people.

Carriers in the US can recycle phone numbers after three months.

Live in Utah. We just passed a terrible law because our legislature is evil and hates us….. But the law made it where you can look up someone really easily based off of their voting records now. You can probably find his address and other stuff too.

People do this to prank other people

It could be one mistake that many people do. They move states and mix up the area codes. Try searching your 7 digit phone number with the other area codes for that state.

Search for "(guy's name) (your phone number) utah" and look through the search results. If he's reckless about giving his info away then he should pop up. His phone number could be close enough to yours that it will have some partial matches.

Maybe someone signed this person up for these types of calls and got the number wrong or maybe you're the victim? It would be an extra level of fuckery to sign someone up with a different name, just to confuse the recipient. You have a beef with someone and then start getting random soam calls, you might know who is the culprit.
