What was the worst date you ever went on?

A little light hearted question for the page — what was the worse date you ever went on?
I can think of 2 in particular
1) in my 20’s, somebody once cooked me a full 3 course meal then rapped a song to me that he’d written. The rap consisted of him talking about how he was ‘a man from the street’ and how he’d had a really difficult life. He lived and grew up in one of the wealthiest areas local to us, with no family issues.
2) somebody took a full job interview on whilst on a coffee date. I mean I commended him for being determined & literally interviewing over the phone while I was sat there but my god was it boring.

I visited a stunningly attractive and way out of my league friend at her Uni once and much to my astonishment she snogged me in the union bar. Well, this was excellent and only got better ! Her roommate was away and I knew that is where I was sleeping but on retiring from said bar she insisted I got in to HER bed and stripped, saying her ex was hanging around the corridor and she just needed to get rid of him - "I'm telling him I'm sleeping with you tonight. He's got to get over me."
I don't know how long this took her but when I woke up they were having absolutely All THE SEX in the bed a desks width away from my face.
"I think he's awake" he mumbled in a scouse drawl.
"No he's not now shut up and keep f*cking me!"
35 years later and I do wonder whether I fluffed my first 3some but hey ho.
When Facebook came along she added me as a friend as people did but soon unfriended me saying I swear to much on my posts. So I posted on her wall "You literally f*cked someone 3 feet away from me as if I wasn't there ya mad bint!"
Needless to say I had the last laugh.

Read all that in Mark Corrigan's voice.

I'm reading these just to make sure I dont recognise the stories of me being a bad date.

Some guy told me this story about how his ex cheated on him with a POC and how it made him insecure.... I was already suspicious of this one because the date consisted of a coffee (totally fine)... At a services.... (Not fine and questioning my judgement and my own self for attending honestly)...
Anyway, a POC not long after just so happened to walk past the window the movement so close to me made me look, he just dead on started grilling me on if I was looking at him and had aaaaaall the crazy eyes.
The one one and only time I've ever had to use my emergency contact to call me with an excuse of my house being on fire. I didn't even try to hide it, I was outta there.

I liked him at the start (this wasn't a first date). I did not by the end. The whole thing snowballed because I was too polite to suggest calling it a day - so we went from a museum, to dinner, to an hour-long walk to his place, to the cinema, and somehow ended up spending 24 hours together.
He ghosted me.
Lesson learned: now I only go on coffee dates.

I went on a second date around two years ago, everything was going brilliantly until we got onto the subject of what we do for work.
For whatever reason she had a real issue with the industry and company I work for. I found it amusing at first, and she had a lot of questions about specific aspects which I politely answered whilst injecting a bit humour where I could
Then she started making a lot of weird, unfounded statements, what I can only call 'meme logic'. At this point I tried being diplomatic; admitting where I saw her point of view but then (politely and light heartedly) explaining the facts based on my experience.
I anticipated she'd expect me to pay due to the different stages we were at in our careers, so I asked "How's your evening going?" I can't remember what she said, but I followed up with "Yeah, this isn't going great for me", and when the waiter came over I asked to split the bill, paid and left - the first and only time I've been that abrupt!
It was equally bewildering and liberating.

Met this girl online when I was 18 many years ago, first date went out clubbing, she ended up getting wasted, ate my kebab after throwing hers away, invites me back to hers and her mum answers the door, looks at me says “not again” and goes back to bed.
Anyway we were getting it on I can’t quite do the deed as I as well was wasted, in her room I fall asleep starkers after taking off the erm, protection, and chucking it on the floor. Wake up with her mum standing over us, she shouts “(girls name) downstairs, now!” I quickly get up realising what I chucked on the floor before I passed out. Her dog was lying on it! She ended up being my booty call for a few months, she was much older than me as well so was good practice 😁

I met up with a guy, we were talking….. initially I thought he was just talkative, but he never let me finish what I was saying. But I realised he was lying. Told me a story about his military career which was very obviously untrue (however people with less knowledge of the military likely wouldn’t have realised). I check out of the date and he questions why. I tell him he is a liar. He then tries to convince me to “go back to his”. I’m quite bold sometimes so I figured ‘let’s see how this plays out’. We head towards this gated community, he tries to open the gate, doesn’t work. Tries another way, doesn’t work. Turns out, he was (I think) trying to take me to his dead parents old house. Needless to say, I skedaddled. Somewhat needless to also say….. he continued to contact me every now and again to see if I wanted to meet up again….. I did not

So true! A calculated risk….. I’m a reasonably good judge of character and wouldn’t come across too badly in a fight. But yes, definitely not for everyone 😂

Before Internet dating was a thing, I got talking to a fairly attractive woman online. In a chat she accused me of being a sexist and "only after one thing". I wasn't. Nor did she have any evidence of that. To prove the point I arranged to meet her in person. It started off OK. Some pizza and some beers in a Glasgow German bar. She started pressurising me to take her to tha casino. Which I did. I spent a few hundred quid (probably broke about even in the end) on teaching her all the games and buying drinks. All the while she was telling me what a catch she was. She did not put her hand in her purse once. The pinnacle of the night was me returning the bar, seeing her slouched over a stool with her arse crack hanging out. Not like a subtle tease of a thong, a full builders arse crack. As politely as I could pointed it out, no words. She said something like "I bet you like that". I did not. Separate taxis were taken soon after. The date lasted about 12 hours in total. The next day she messaged about us having clicked. We did not. She might well have been the first ever recipient of a ghosting.

OMG I have about ten I could share. I'll go with the trip to A&E
I met this girl online. We'll call her Jane. Lived about thirty miles apart, third date she invited me to get village, I knew where this is was heading
Get to hers and she lives in an upstairs maisonette. Nice enough except for the narrow staircase up to the living space with no handrail. I do fire risk assessments as part of my job and I tell her this is dangerous, possibly illegal and she wants to mention it to her landlord
We go out, bite to eat, few drinks, all going swimmingly and back to hers. I'm sat on the sofa, she's doing this drunk dance in front of me,trying to be seductive then when whispers 'I want to do something really naughty..." Oi Oi I think
Reader, she wanted a cigarette
So we go down, smoke a ciggie and she leads me back up for the main event
Except she's pissed, and there's no handrail, and seven or eight steps up she slips and we both fall back.
I'm fine, I think I broke a toe and had a sore back for a few days but she's out cold. I panic for a minute that she's dead but she's snoring so I relax a bit until I see blood pooling behind her head. I make an embarrassing 999 call where I am unable to provide them with any of her personal information "Jane Something, 27...she claims, likes walks in the park but dunno about pre existing conditions"
she's awake by the time the Ambulance comes and I decide to go with her to the hospital. I just wanted to go home but I'm too drunk to drive and it would be a bit awkward just chilling in her house for however long
At the hospital she's incredibly rude to the nurses and I decide I'm never seeing her again. Years later I will tell this story to someone who rightly points out she had a head injury and her rudeness was probably just shock
I messaged her years later on Facebook after I got divorced but she wasn't interested

A guy took me to the cinema and paid for the ticket. It was like €5 (this is when I was living in France). I wasn’t very interested, but he suggested going back to my place. I politely declined/made excuses, so he got grumpy and asked for the €5 back. It was so petty, but I also felt he was within his rights to ask for it back.
The annoying thing was I only had a €20 note on me, and the little cinema village place we were at was closing down so I couldn’t find anywhere to make change.
Had to walk around with this grumpy/horny/rude guy until I found a little shop that sold apples and could finally give him his accursed €5 and leave.
Extra_Actuary8244@reddit
He wasn’t in within his right to ask for it back tbh
If you buy someone something as a “gift” because you think you’re buying sex from them then you don’t deserve that back when they rightfully decline sex with you
Icy_Mixture1482@reddit
Agreed. But at the time, I just wanted to leave without fuss.

Turned up with no money, late and talked about nothing but his spiritual awakening in the Andes.
Declared he would come back to mine, but only until 2am because he needed to do some photocopying in the library.

I went on a date with a man who spent an hour talking about whisky, he was studying brewing at university (which I didn't know was an option) and had just done a tour of whisky makers in Scotland. I'm teetotal, so I sat on my bored ass for the duration of it.
Careless_Soup_109@reddit
The context I don't care to remember, but when they said on our first date: "My dad was an actual pedophile, I should know".
I think I inwardly gasped.

I met up with a guy to go to the theatre and he brought his mother and sister along (they sat in a completely different part of the theatre). It was a bit odd because we all met up afterwards though. Anyway, we didn’t meet up again but he was keen and told me they’d really liked me!! (To be fair, i was very polite)

Was he 12? 😅

I was in my early 20s I had gone on a short first date with this guy (also early 20s) and he seemed nice enough so we arranged for a second date.
Now, as far as I understood he said we could grab a bite and I agreed and he said he'd figure out a place so I asked him to let me know where.
Coming the day I confirm with him in the morning and then I go about doing my business, it's a busy busy day so I end up skipping lunch and I just have a slice of cake at a cafe with a friend in the afternoon. I'm hungry. I want food.
He texts me the address and I see it's a pub, not a problem, plenty of nice pub food. I get there and it looks like it's a garden with pub, which okay fine, it's summer, maybe they also have a bbq section or something. We sit. There's a football match in the background, I'm sitting shoulders to the direction of the football screen. I ask him if we should get some food and he tells me it's a wet pub (I'm a foreigner and I did not know it means they don't serve food) he asks me what I want to drink and I tell him I'd actually prefer something to eat first. He comes out with a pint for him and a bag of crisps for me. I told him I was actually rather hungry and I thought we were going to grab dinner. It felt like he was annoyed by me not being happy and he said we could just leave (but not just leave like find another place, more like calling it a day). I felt bad, we stayed. I got myself a coke and tried to slowly enjoy the little food I had.
I'd like to say I went home and got myself a nice dinner. But alas I had far less self respect than I do now. Though at least it was the last date

March 4th, nothing happened. Just a really boring day.

After initial greetings she pointed to the corner of her mouth and said look at my cold sore.
