Watching the 60 min episode. I was curious about the opinions of the drivers.

Why does this shock anyone? every company I worked for would call you and ask you why you weren't driving if you had hours

just watched it too and man they really focused on the worst parts didnt they. like i get trucking has problems but they made it seem like every driver is either broke or sketchy which isnt true at all
my bf drives long haul and yeah the pay could be better but hes not living in poverty like they showed. also that part about truck stops being dangerous - i mean sure some are rough but most are just normal places where people grab food and rest
they interviewed like 3 drivers total and somehow made conclusions about the whole industry. typical mainstream media honestly - they love drama more than actual facts about what truckers deal with day to day

Trucking from what I know of it has plenty of real issues they could have focused on. I am just hoping that the recent changes made will improve things for the drivers. Will it happen? Has anything changes been seen yet?

There are lots of issues, but if you do an episode saying there needs to be more parking, better food options, and better pay, it’s not gonna go anywhere. They identified one specific problem, that has lead to people dying, and did a deep dive on that. There’s a lot higher likelihood of something being done about Super Ego than there is about parking.

Agree. I think the issues i was meaning were also issues that cause drivers to be in danger. But having enough parking is an issue with safety and being able to rest. So I would add parking as a topic.
