Local Klan doubles down on their bigotry. A large presence of GOP top leadership attends their events and donated to them. They recently sold out for their upcoming gala.

How so?

He doesn’t. That’s just his go to when he can’t grasp something.
JimBeamerton@reddit
It doesn't say anything about the klan, where do you guys get this horseshit
Reluctantziti@reddit
The Klan and TTP both support the conspiracy theory that Jews and nonwhites are coming to replace whites in America. Both organizations say this explicitly. The Klan would then commit domestic terrorism in service of their goals to prevent this. And while TTP hasn’t been directly linked to committing violent domestic terrorism, the leader Julie McCarty in these posts has expressed support for the El Paso Walmart shooter who was explicitly motivated by the same conspiracy theory. And killed 23 people. You can draw your own conclusions from there.
rdickert@reddit
I'm seeing nothing of the kind in their charter. Care to cite a source that backs your assertions, or is this simply word salad that you created on the fly?

I don’t even know what to say to this. They quoted the publicly available conference agenda. If that’s somehow fake news I can’t converse with you.

They’re calling them the local version of the Klan. They’re Christian nationalists. Basically the same thing.

I would like to know how a population of probably less than 100k (just my estimate) Will “islamified” Texas. Seems like a grifting opportunity. Yawn.

This is the actual klan? Or the left over reacting again?

Question - is this not a discriminatory plan to have a city that is for people of 1 religion? If this was a city for Christian’s only, would you still be fighting for their rights? If it was a city for white people, are you still taking the same side? Or black people? I am curious where the line is drawn… because it seems to me that any group that wants to isolate themselves from any other groups in America has the support of liberals… and that’s the exact opposite of what liberals generally believed in the past. I thought we were all living together in the melting pot of America. Y’all prefer it segregated? I’m not liberal and I’m not maga. I’m simply trying to make sense of this.
CatteNappe@reddit
Given that there are, in fact, communities for Christians only, including at least one in Texas; somebody needs to figure out how to overcome the hypocrisy. And as it happens, the proposed development is not being planned for Muslim's only. It intends to assure that there are amenities and services catering to Muslims, but anybody of any faith can live there - which is more than can be said for some of the various Christian and Mormon communities around the country.
El-Cocinero-Tejano@reddit
Thanks for a civil reply. I’m unaware of Christian settlements… I only know of a white community started in Oklahoma if I remember correctly. Isolated communities purposely planned just seems weird and anti-American to me. Our diversity is our strength (and our weakness). But it’s what makes us us, and different than the entirety of the planet. Christians are scared of these people so I understand their viewpoint. And my honest opinion is, that if what you say is true, that there are actually Christian only communities that are known by the state of Texas, then I would say let these people do exactly the same as what’s been allowed. Christians are very short sided, they don’t understand that if you allow one religion into a school, or government entity, by law you have to afford other religions the same rights. I just don’t seem to have an opinion on this whole issue and wanted to hear some thoughts.
DangerousRedVinyl@reddit
Amish are Christian. Anabaptist.
thedrunkknight@reddit
Wasn't it glen beck that wanted to make a small town for basically white Christians like 10 or 15 years ago? I remember most people just thinking that was ridiculous but it was whatever
EtchASketchNovelist@reddit
Yeah, it's fine, they could totally make a little city like that for Christians. But they're not allowed to make a law for cutting off your hand if they jack off. They can still make their little city though.
InfernalBiryani@reddit
Your understanding of Islam, or lack thereof, is based on tropes that you’ve heard parroted elsewhere. Have you actually met a single Muslim in your life? If you have instead of being a sheep, you’d know that we don’t even implement that kind of sentence.
Substantial-Part-700@reddit
Have you met a single Texan, Muslim or otherwise, advocating for that?
EtchASketchNovelist@reddit
No, that's the point, it's a nothingburger. Christians should not be allowed to make laws like that, and the same for Muslims. And, I've never seen it happen, so why would we fearmonger this crap?
ContextWorking976@reddit
If you spent 5 minutes ready ANY news article on this matter, you would answer the first question. Try to read more.
El-Cocinero-Tejano@reddit
Lol really? So you believe everything written about this “city” convey that it’s open to all religions and people of all faith? Lol, I think YOU need to read more because that’s not clear buddy. There’s lots of things written about it, and I’m sorry but not all are clear on the matter. But no, go ahead and be an ass because I’m trying to make sense of it all.
CatteNappe@reddit
I believe most of what's written by reputable news sources and any writings that "muddy" or reduce "clarity" are at odds with them. For example, if you are reading the Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Express you may well be confused, because one presents facts to the best of their ability, and one provides propaganda that aligns with their agenda.
ContextWorking976@reddit
Yeah it's literally against the Fair Housing Act and the ODOJ found no issues with Epic City's plans when they did their inquiry. Again, what exactly are you claiming? Do you even know any Muslims?
EtchASketchNovelist@reddit
It's about freedom. Anyone can make their own place where they have their own rules (example HOAs), but you can't contradict the laws of the land. It's immoral for me to make a law saying that they have to assimilate. Folks can have any culture they want, and they can make their own little club where they take their faith seriously, that's their freedom. Fundamentalist Christians can make their own little city too, but they can't enforce their own Christian laws against me.
In this case though, there's a lot of fearmongering about religious laws based on rumors they've heard about those folks. If they don't contradict the laws of the land, I say it's fine. Any specific contradictory rules should be struck down individually. Folks who follow Islam are welcome to live here, I have coworkers who are Muslim, and they're just like the rest of us.
CatteNappe@reddit
"Fundamentalist Christians .... can't enforce their own Christian laws against me." They sure would like to, though; and are giving it a good try.

Are there any democratic Muslim majority countries in the Middle East?
CatteNappe@reddit
It may come as a surprise to you, but not all Muslims live in the Middle East. And millions of them live in democratic countries. Senegal and Indonesia are two examples. Educate yourself.
However, I'm not sure any amount of education is going to overcome your blindly racist conclusion that Muslims can't possibly live in a democracy. Did it not occur to you that the Muslims who immigrate to this country want to live in a democracy alongside fellow citizens of other belief systems?
RoosterzRevenge@reddit
Today I learned Senegal and Indonesia are in the middle east. Thanks for the education.

Are middle eastern countries welcoming to other religions? It’s just odd that you’re advocating for a fascist theocracy with a history of extreme misogyny. I can only imagine you support that ideology coming here because it would help speed up the destruction of the west.
-KaiTheGuy-@reddit
Yes, because clearly the Muslims here are the same as the ones living overseas.
I don't give two fucks what someone's religion is if they don't fuck around with others, but clearly you have an issue even when it doesn't directly affect you.
Give me a fucking break with your false equivalency bullshit.
OhNoAnAmerican@reddit
Wow your post history sure shows you care an awful lot about “others religion”…but only Christians. You constantly slam Christians bigoted and hateful language.
It’s always always always the white liberals bending over for islamism. So so so bizarre
-KaiTheGuy-@reddit
My post history is private, but nice try. 🙄
So either you meant to respond to me without realizing that as a lie or a different comment from a different user.
In any case I'll make it perfectly clear where my liberal stance is at - you can have any religion, I don't give a fuck what it is since I'm agnostic personally, but the minute you start to attack others for theirs when it doesn't affect you directly is when you lose all credibility. You wanna be a Christian? Cool, fucking do it I don't give a fuck, but it's always funny to see the extremes on both sides and when you call out bullshit, the cockroaches always come to defend it.
Oh but we wanna talk about religion, here don't we? Let's talk about how Donald Trump is Isreals bitch currently and dragged US into war for Iran on false pretenses all because Israel wanted. Yeah I'm sure glad America got involved with that and now us every day people have to suffer and pay for it. Wow, so much winning. Let's talk about this fuckhead wants to kill an entire population and only walked it back when called out. Or how he tried to portray himself as Jesus when he's actually the antichrist. Cheeto bitch is such a pussy.
OhNoAnAmerican@reddit
No I just went to google and typed in your name. Did you really think it’s THAT easy to hide your bias? Come on now
As to the rest of your deeply antisemitic rambling: this is what Nazism sounds like. This is what pro-islamism sounds like. You’re deeply uneducated and even more deeply moved by the type of emotional blackmail hamas has perfected.
You’re not a good person and you don’t understand that which you claim to support. The IRGC is a gravely evil genocidal terror group, as are the many proxy groups they fund such as Hezbollah. Hamas is possibly even more evil.
You will lose. Your ideology will be laid bare.
And when the history books are written don’t you dare try to rewrite your stance in support of the worst regimes in history

Groups that back these land developments such as The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have been designated as terrorist organizations by the state of Texas. Members have openly practiced Sharia Law in their own communities. In 2007-2008, the Holy Land Foundation trial linked early CAIR founders to supporting Hamas. It has been well documented that they advocate for a societal restructuring based on Sharia law. It pushes Islamization, with goals to establish an Islamic state. Countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Russia have also designated the group as a terrorist organization.
Buyers of residential plots in the EPIC City (now referred to as "The Meadow") development were required to pay funds that would go toward the construction of a new mosque, school, and other facilities. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) initiated an investigation into these financial terms, alleging they constituted "discriminatory financial terms that required lot owners to subsidize a mosque and Islamic educational centers.
I can see why some may be concerned about outsiders buying up Texas land and discriminating against non-Muslims to develop a Sharia Law enclave. I've been looking into this subject more because it's gaining a lot of attention nationwide.

Not wanting a parallel religious legal system is not the Klan. Geez. If they were opposing Christian nationalism you’d be jizzing your pants about this. If you’re honest you will oppose sharia and Christian fundamentalism
aggie1391@reddit
No one cares if Christians arbitrate their disputes in a religious way if all parties agree, or if they have a religious divorce alongside a civil one. That’s literally all these “Sharia courts” are doing. It’s Muslims who want to follow their religion asking religious leaders how to do so.
JoyfulCor313@reddit
Anyone who’s had family involved with Watermark church’s mediation program knows what going through a religious-led program can be like (awful).
But you’re right. It exists in Christian churches, in Islam, in Judaism, and mediation is basically a way of life in Buddhism where “peace in every step” is the goal.
CatteNappe@reddit
Please have a word with the Catholics, other Christians, and Jews who have "laws" of conduct that they apply in mediating and arbitrating business and family issues among their adherents. Why is it that there hasn't been a peep in centuries about them, but now all of a sudden the Muslims are not allowed the same within their faith group?
Or were you perhaps under the laughable impression that you, yourself, a non-Muslim, would somehow be bound by Muslim codes? Who did you think was going to force that on you?
ContextWorking976@reddit
Who is proposing a parallel religious legal system? Be specific. Gas lighting people with lies like this is exactly what the Klan was doing in Tarrant and Dallas counties 100 years ago. Down playing this and assuming their lies are real gives them the room they need to thrive.
EtchASketchNovelist@reddit
I'd be curious what you mean by a "legal system", because that seems to be the real overblown aspect here. Am I going to fall under the "Sharia Law Legal System", per your description? Or does that system only apply to people who opt in?
Striking_Reindeer_2k@reddit
Nothing here says Klan.
Just people resisting the influx of Islamic culture into Texas.
If you come to Texas, join the community. Don't try to displace it.
CatteNappe@reddit
Where is this "influx of Islamic culture"? Where is it hiding itself?
I see churches on nearly every street corner. I see multitudes of businesses claiming to be "Christian" in their approach to doing business. Bunch of Christian private schools, too.
There is a synagogue here and there. I gather we do have a couple Buddhist temples, and yes a couple mosques. Wouldn't count that as an "influx" though. Not to mention, I do not see company trucks quoting the Qur'an, or logos on storefronts praising Allah.
