72 gmc suburban buy or pass

I've had a lead on a '72 GMC Suburban three-door for a while and finally worked up the nerve to ask the owner for a price. He wants $2,500 for it.
It runs well with a good transmission. The only big issue is the body is in rough shape, although that’s work I could do myself.
What is the going value of these? If I decide it’s too much work, how fast could I realistically resell it?

It's not terrible mainly just the body panels rocker panels ect. from what I've seen.

I think for a project vehicle you need to be all in. Price should not be your first thought. For sure a consideration but if you are already thinking about resale value you should move on.
A project car isn’t about resale value. It’s about how it makes you feel.
