Newegg 9800x3d combo deal

Newegg has a $1000 bundle for the 9800x3d. It includes cpu, motherboard, and 64gb of RAM. It also includes a case and fans but I don’t need that.
Am I missing something here? I know the price is overall inflated but currently 64gb of ram is $1000 on its own, I know it’s stupid. Is there any reason not to get this bundle, sell the 64gb, get 32, and get a 9800x3d for very cheap?

microcenter bundles are one of the consistently not insanely priced things right now
Cpt_DookieShoes@reddit (OP)
Yea I could drive to micro center for one of their $600 bundles. But it’s not super close.
I was just surprised the $1000 one included 64gb, since the 32gb bundles I’ve been seeing on Newegg have been $1000.
Chefenheimer@reddit
Microcenter is dope, i just upgraded cause of one of thier bundles. The bundle was ryzen 9 9900X, 32gb ddr 5 ram, and X870E-P motherboard, for $650 Seperate from the bundle i picked up a corsair case, and a new AIO cooler. All for under 1000 bucks. Would have costed a bit less if i had more potential in my old build. Drove an hour and 20 minutes to get there lol
Realistic-Table9398@reddit
With the 64gb of ram along with the case and fans, this bundle is pretty enticing in today's market. If you don't wanna make the drive to microcenter, I see no problem with buying this instead.
lancelane7@reddit
I would get the bundle, sell the ram, buy 32gb, sell the case and fans. Boom profit. If you willing to put time and effort and patience into it. But say you sell ram for around $700 you buy 32gb probably used for $300 or new for $400 maybe. You still end up spending around $600. For the time and effort it’s probably better to drive to micro center and get their bundle
PhotographLess6194@reddit
32gb kits of ram are barely fetching 200 on the used market
PokerLawyer75@reddit
32GB DDR5 has already fallen below $400.
lancelane7@reddit
yeah facts I just checked, looks like on average $370.
PokerLawyer75@reddit
Best Buy had some Crucial packages for $350.
lancelane7@reddit
Can’t rock with micron… they left us… lmao just kidding, yeah it’s regulating cause of stock stability but the prices probably won’t go much lower
PokerLawyer75@reddit
they might get back down to $300...we are seeing a bunch of Hong Kong suppliers getting squeezed. and I agree, I don't want to buy Crucial products.
I just wish GSKill would come back down.
OkTumor@reddit
what’s wrong with crucial? is it the company or the product? asking bc i just brought crucial ssd and probably will get crucial ram because they’re the cheapest rn…
PokerLawyer75@reddit
Because they no longer exist. Micron shut them down completely as of Feb. 2026. What's left in retail is what's left in the channel - no new production.
OkTumor@reddit
damn. the ssd i got should still work fine though, right?
PokerLawyer75@reddit
It is, I just can't bring myself to buy their product in case it fails under warranty. I worry about how Micron's going to handle it.
In some states, like CA, theyr'e required to hold inventory for a specific number of years. But not every state requires that.
lancelane7@reddit
Yeah bro you’re fine crucial stuff is good it’s just that you not getting crucial in the future
lancelane7@reddit
32gbs was $80 last summer 😥 crazy times. It’s so hard to tell where it’s heading. Yeah google making it less demanding but the companies can use that technology to scale bigger so still taking more ram for even more data centers
PokerLawyer75@reddit
Btw MicroCenter has Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5-6400 for $330 in white, $340 in black.
Corsair Vengence 6000 CL38 is down to $320.
The real deal is the Patriot Vipor Venom 6400-CL32 for $330.
RefRP@reddit
Used RAM is pretty reliable, I picked up a nice 32GB DDR5 kit on FB marketplace for $200 last week.
lancelane7@reddit
OP I just pulled up that bundle on Newegg and just buy that, you get crimson desert and an AIO, it’s $800+off it’s too good lol.

wiscogamer@reddit
I got my memory from woot payed 250 and then got another 50$ off with a credit I had. Expensive but I needed ram best price I’ve seen for. While
MarketOstrich@reddit
Can anyone link the deal, or is it an in-store scenario only? I was thinking about a trip this weekend to Microcenter.
Cpt_DookieShoes@reddit (OP)
They might be sold out. The only ones I see on the website are the 32gb ones, which are also around $1000. It’s why I was so surprised by the 64gb one being the same price.
I think if you were going to go to micro center you might as well still do that.
But if not you can keep checking Newegg every now and then like I did. I saw this bundle yesterday and it didn’t sell out until later today. So it’s not like you have to get there minute one.
OkAssistant9655@reddit
seems like a pretty solid deal. get the $700 9070xt bundle, which includes a power supply, and you’re at 1700 before tax. just need an SSD and you’re good to go.
Orallover1960@reddit
I just bought a pre-built at MicroCentet. 9800 x3d and 9070 xt with 32gb ram and 2 tb ssd. $1799.99.
Staypluggedin@reddit
Nvm just saw it
Orallover1960@reddit
Yeah. I bought it on Monday. PowerSpec G760.
Staypluggedin@reddit
HOWW? i couldnt find any at that price. When exactly?
Errettfitchett03@reddit
The ram is "only" worth around 600 depending on speed. The cpu is $380. So you get a free motherboard, case and fans. Its not that crazy.
2raysdiver@reddit
I found one for $1100. Where is the one for $1000? Without a link, threads like these can be very frustrating.
TripppleAyyy@reddit
That’s already gone 😭
Cpt_DookieShoes@reddit (OP)
Someone posted the $1000 one, I think it’s sold out.
all4k@reddit
Hey i got a 32gb corsair kit that i can sell to you if you would like pm me!
HankHippoppopalous@reddit
I'm gonna need a link to that
TJB_the_Gamer1@reddit
link
Cpt_DookieShoes@reddit (OP)
No! Don’t steal my bundle.
But in all seriousness just search for the 9800x3d, scroll down, and you’ll see a few bundles with 64gb
lancelane7@reddit
Non x3d these days definitely not great, getting a 5800x3d is hard to do. Your am4 cpu ram and motherboard can still sell for solid price on used market tho. If you have the funds then I say this a good time to grab this bundle. The way I look at it, any bundle that basically gets you free ram is a no brainer in today’s market.
Cpt_DookieShoes@reddit (OP)
The 5800x3d is crazy, it’s similar price or sometimes more than the 9800x3d.
I would have gotten that cpu a while ago if the aftermarket prices weren’t so silly. It’s annoying having to swap a motherboard
lancelane7@reddit
It’ll be worth it tho, I went from 5600x3d +b550 to 9850x3d and x870 microcenter bundle. Sold the cpu ram and motherboard for $455 total, so out of pocket spent $250 for the new platform
Supermr2@reddit
I just saw this deal. I just bought this motherboard and cpu from MSI back in October of last year right when the RAM prices started going insane. I got the MB for 239 the cpu for 400 and a 1 TB Gen 4 for $99 for 738.99 before tax. I paid 130 for 32gb of 6000 MHZ CL30 from Amazon. When I bought the ram it would have been about 50 bucks cheaper had it been 2 month prior. So that deal is fantastic considering all the extras as mt total came to $868 for 32gb.
Cpt_DookieShoes@reddit (OP)
Followup.
I currently have a 5800, not x3d, and 4080s
Do yall think it’s even worth upgrading? Sometimes I feel like I’m cpu bound but I could be being stupid here
angry_aardvark@reddit
Depends on the situation, but yeah, you’re most likely CPU bound. But you’re always gonna be bottlenecked by something. You just have to decide if you are unhappy with the performance you have now.
IlIIllIlIIlII@reddit
I just got the 9800x3d micro center bundle put together today, upgraded to a 870e pro WiFi for 15 dollars. Badass mobo, cpu and no complaints about the ram so far. Paired it with a 9070xt and performs good on 4k!
gankernation@reddit
You not going to get anywhere close to 1k for the ram. Best I've seen for a new set on the marketplace is around 550 and even then, it taksa a while to sell.
Cpt_DookieShoes@reddit (OP)
I checked eBay and I saw around those prices, I wasn’t thinking I’d get $1000 aftermarket. But it still ends up being fairly cheap, and saves me a kinda long drive for micro center
PokerLawyer75@reddit
MicroCenter might be a long drive, but...
1) They'll match NewEgg prices if they're cheaper.
2) They're a lot less shady than NewEgg on support and returns
gankernation@reddit
Well that's true. I have a few near me within 30 minutes drive. Either way good luck on your build!
notadroid@reddit
those bundles have been the gold standard now for SANE pricing.
