I've been trying to find the source of this f22 footage, does any know it?

Probably from AFHFTC at DM. Check the F-22 Demo team social media around February of years past

This plane is basically in a stall for the entire duration of the video lol.

SU-57 way better

F-22 is wild, I’m guessing wasn’t practical enough, but has to be peak aeronautical engineering..
RatInaMaze@reddit
Sexiest plane ever made (other than the tomcat)
RedPaladin26@reddit
My other is the A 10 but the tomcat is next in line !
RatInaMaze@reddit
A10 sexy is death by snu snu

Its shit like this that makes the battlefield Rendezook seem… maybe not statistically likely…
But in the farthest stretches of reality and stats, possible
CantaloupeHour5973@reddit
I’ve seen the F-22 do this kind of UFO shit at air shows before. I was smoking weed at the time too so it was extra weird. Definitely using some NHI tech. Walked directly to the Chinese buffet that was near the base and thought about it the whole time

Meh. I saw Rey do that in the Millennium Falcon.
penerey_ferguson@reddit
Would this maneuver ever be useful in combat / outside of an airshow? Genuinely curious
WirelessWavetable@reddit
Potentially to evade an IR heatseeker by turning your exhaust away and popping flares.
Iron_physik@reddit
all aspect missiles can see the smallest heat differences and thus can also just see the fuselage itself. meaning: that wont work
especially modern IR missiles that use a thermal camera with basic pattern recognition and the ability to ignore flares
PlanesOfFame@reddit
This comment really drives home the point to me that aerial combat will evolve to decoys. Get a flight of 4 identical planes. 3 of them take the lead, but these are drones intentionally poking into airspace to attract missile fire. The 4th one stands by 50 miles away and actually engages in combat.
It really seems like missile technology has evolved so far that there isnt a way to out armor or out maneuver a missile. What other tactics would even be available to a pilot to avoid getting shot down at this rate? If flares and chaff dont work and maneuvering doesn't work, eventually another solution will be found and it seems like a bunch of cheap and fast drones would serve that purpose well.
Which annoys me because I think piloted planes are very cool and its crazy how all the developments in maneuverability and raw power are basically moot at this stage in the game
Te_Luftwaffle@reddit
Anduril is developing drone wingmen to fly alongside a manned fighter and could do something very similar to what you've described.
anonymous_3125@reddit
No lmao. Real combat is seeing a dot on your radar and pressing a button
super_topsecret@reddit
It’s the equivalent of drunken style kung fu. Make your enemy think you had a stroke behind the yoke, then go in for the kill.
Kinder22@reddit
Is the meme just that Starscream gets to fly around and do cool shit while everyone else is fighting?
sm3xym3xican@reddit
Yeah pretty much
ClosetLadyGhost@reddit
Not true. One time he had to do stuff.

I'm pretty sure it's @dustin_farrell.

I don't know where this specific video is from, but if you want to see more badass F-22 footage, which this awesome video from Dustin Farrell

Man... that telephoto lens makes it look like this is happening like 30 feet above the ground, though it's probably actually hundreds.

Shot a couple years ago during Heritage Flight Training at Davis-Monthan. Razz Larson was the F22 pilot and Kevin LaRosa was helicopter pilot. Additional photographer in the back seat manning the mounted camera. Believe heritage flight foundation owns the footage and shares with Air Force
Abject-Interaction35@reddit
I mean that's just really cool. How much fun it would be to just get in one and go fly
Timewaster50455@reddit
Wasn’t this used for a ton said air force recruitment ads?
All-Sorts-of-Stuff@reddit
This post says it was shot by Kevin LaRosa:

axloo7@reddit
It's cool don't get me wrong. But I have seen propeller driven biplanes with 0 computer assistants do way crazier stuff.
_5StarMan@reddit
Yeah but those aerobatic show planes are tiny and weigh nothing by comparison. Much crazier for a several ton, stealth fighter to be pulling this kind of maneuver. It's a middle finger to physics.
axloo7@reddit
Not unlike the acrobatic biplanes. I do wonder witch aircraft has the higher thrust to weight ratio.
whimpers2@reddit
While carrying 6 AMRAAMs
delusiona1@reddit
Showed up to a blue angel show in Jacksonville, right as I parked a f-22 did this maneuver right over where I parked. Shook the entire parking lot, I came my pants and drove back home. Was there for 5 min
xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx@reddit
I read a comment in this sub once that the F22 is the only American fighter that can execute a tailslide, is this true?
mav3r1ck92691@reddit
No, any aircraft can tail slide… it just has way more low speed control authority and can do it at altitudes that look good and an airshow safely where as others can’t recover in time when that low.
Taco5106@reddit
Might be from DVIDS. The military releases footage like this to the public. Check the use terms and conditions - some stuff requires certain disclosures to use.
ThunderousThinker@reddit
This is the F-22 Demo Team
Shadowmind42@reddit
How do you get a shot like that. Was it captured from the top of a mountain?
PSR-B1919-21@reddit
Another aircraft and a gigantic lens im guessing
trumpetguy314@reddit
Don't know the source of the footage, but it was definitely taken at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona. Might help you narrow it down.
S1075@reddit
Pretty sure this was taken in Alaska. The video was posted as a stabilized 4K or something like that back when that was less common.
ChrisAplin@reddit
There are palm trees. I don't think it's Alaska.
S1075@reddit
It looks like footage from Phantom of the Raptor.
GreenMonster34@reddit
I dont know if Mark Fingar is on reddit, but if you message him on ig, he may know. He's an absolute authority on the F22 and, I would guess, probably the best source for your answer.
