Don't forget to sort after every range trip

So I finally decided to sort my brass after my man range trips. Let's just say that I hate myself right now. But I have a cigar and bourbon so it's not that bad.

I sort when the Homer bucket gets full.

If I did that I would have drank way too much and be annoyed with the random shells I find in there that I don't load.

I find the sorting relaxing.

I've let mine stack up for a few range trips. My wife wants to learn how to reload, maybe sorting will show her how tedious it can be sometimes? We need 9mm lol.

Guy was asking me if I wanted to keep my 5.56 brass this last weekend while shooting. Seems like a ton of work to me, how much do you save and how much time does it take?

Depends on the caliber and purpose. 9mm and 223/556 bulk grade isn’t worth reloading imo. Hunting and precision target grade ammo is worth reloading because you can built ammo that performs better than factory in your firearms.
I reload 223, 308, 270 wby and 9mm, 38/357, 10mm, 44mag. I save 50% or more on average, by buying components in bulk. 9mm costs $5 for 50, 45acp $8, 10mm $10, 44 $12 using components purchased a decade ago.

No thanks, the range gremlins can have my brass.

Well at the state run ranges we are supposed to pick up our own brass. So that's why I had all of this. I have all the stuff to reload this. I don't. But I have all the stuff to do it. So I end up taking it home and finally got around to sorting it. Mainly used it as a reason to drink and smoke. But I have several new containers of ammo to clean and eventually load.

Do you shoot every gun you own and then sweep the brass? Do yourself a favor and sweep after each caliber and it’ll make this way easier. It’s also a nice way to reset between shoots.

I usually shoot an AR and clean the brass. Shoot something else and pick up the brass My problem is usually all my spent brass is put in one container. That was weeks of shooting. And I finally decided to sort it. Also I needed a drink after i got off work this morning and a good smoke. So the excuse was to sort to cover my day drinking. Lol
