Cpu usage very low while gpu is normal

i have a rtx 5060 and a ryzen 5800x and whenever i play games i get gpu usage of 80 to 100 but cpu usage of around 30 and in cpu games like fortnite cs2 death stranding 2 i get pretty low fps someone help

If you turn down the graphics settings, does the CPU usage go up?

fps when up about 30% on lowest graphics but cpu usage still at 40-20%

Cpu usage wont hit 100% from a video game. Most games run majority of game logic on a single core, and use at most 4-6 cores.

You're GPU bottlenecked at 1440p and you're CPU bottlenecked at 1080p (on cs2 specifically)

you could try overclocking your 5060 but if its running at 100% most of the time theres not much more you can do.

when gpu usage is at 100 your cpu does not also need to be at 100 because its waiting on the gpu.

i think youre expecting too much from the 5060 or your 5060 is misconfigured

i expect more than 100 fps on cs2 on 1440 when i used to get around twice that

So you suddenly lost performance? This is a pretty important detail.

Did you change anything?
