I worked for one of the Fujitsu divisions starting in 2000. We loved our Lifebooks, they were pretty cool.

Really nice! I have a slightly newer lifebook and I was wondering if you had a similar issue that mine mine has, which is the whole keyboard area is slightly loose? I see that yours had a gap like mine on the side between the keyboard and the main body. I'm not very experienced so I don't want to take it apart unless I have to, so if you or anyone else knows- is this is just a thing that happens or is it normal or is it something that can be fixed? Everything works fine.

keyboards are normally held in place by protrusions (tabs) either from the surrounding frame, the keyboard mat itself and additionally also by screws on the underside of the laptop. that they have any play for movement is not normal.

Okay, thanks. I guess I'll have to have a look inside:)

I had a Lifebook B - if it wasn't this model it was a very similar one. The touch screen and stylus were surprisingly accurate for the time. And worked quite well with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. I used to use it with winamp to play mp3s from my desktop PC over my brand new 802.11g WiFi network. I think it ran half life quite well too. Happy days

My first touchscreen as a Thinkpad X41T from this era, with the spin around screen to make it a thick tablet.

I remember going to Germany as an exchange student back in the mid 2000s and this is what my host student had for a laptop. I thought it was super cool.

That's some kind of sleep attack prevention device in the middle, right?

Puts a whole new meaning to "keyboard warrior" lmao

the 10-12" 4:3 screen notebooks really seem to be my favourite form factor, the perfect mix of portable but still usable.
This makes me yearn for a modern one. I don't need hyper thin and I don't want a 16:9 screen, give me that extra height!
