Just got my PPL yesterday(woo), what are some airports around central FL(KORL) that have good food that I can take my gf to? Was looking at Spruce Creek and KOBE right now but open to suggestions:)

Short Cakes @ Labelle has great food.

KDED has the Gin Mill you can hear the karaoke from the ramp on the weekends and Friday nights. KOCF has a nice restaurant too.

Tampa North and KSPG both have really good breakfast.

Second KSPG. Go to The Hangar Restaurant. I work out of KPIE and we sometimes fly there (yes about a 5 minute flight) just for their lunch!

Leaning towards Tampa North right now, very neat little breakfast spot

If the weather is nice they have outside benches with shade and you get to see some pretty cool GA esp on the weekends.

Thanks, I've never seen this before. More places than I realized.
And one of them I do know about isn't on the list 😂

Yeah it's a fairly outdated resource, but I always check it when I'm heading to a new-ish area. I've found several gems there.

Run up to Cedar Key. Short strip, walk or get a lift into town. Lots of great places for lunch. And congratulations!

From ORL,you've got LOTS of options!
VRB and FXE both have good restaurants on the field. On the Gulf side, SPG is always a fun stop. Of course, you can always go down to MTH in the keys. get a crew car and hit up any number of good spots.
If you want something a little quieter, X39 has a great little mom ad pop diner with a deck overlooking the ramp and runway.
Of course, there is always SSI for BBQ!

Tampa North seems like just the lowkey kinda deal I’m looking for, would probably be earlier in the morning and the Stearmans look sick so I might pull the trigger on that, thank you!!!!!

Congrats!

Thank you!!!!! It still feels unreal now I have to come to terms with the fact that I can kinda go wherever I want, it’s weird

The Landing Strip which was formerly Highjackers, at KFIN (Flagler) was always our go to lunch joint for years.
It’s right next to the FBO, plenty of parking tie downs right there on the ramp usually, you can park right in front of the restaurant and go through the gate.

My buddy at Atlantic actually said KFIN has a really great restaurant, I’ll probably end up over there one way or another lol
