A legitimately designed Interceptor built for the modern age would be a car worth considering accolades and glory laden, but, let's be real, is anything designed for the working man who rises above, let alone the working class man who succeeded?
alfredadamski@reddit
It's like asking for a luxury watch for the working class, that has moved up the career ladder. Hey, Rolex, just build a 300 USD/EUR watch for the construction guy who already has 100k+ USD Ford/GM/RAM pick-up truck and that bossy girlfriend. Just look how successful the Omega x Swatch thing was/is!
michal_hanu_la@reddit
Isn't that what Tudor is for?
(Sure, not 300, but not Rolex a
gimpwiz@reddit
What's an entry level, no frills, steel diver watch Tudor these days? Four and a half grand?
michal_hanu_la@reddit
A basic Black Bay seems to be 3650CHF.
gimpwiz@reddit
I feel like I remember it being a lot less not long ago, but isn't that everything? Especially luxury products. Granted, "a lot less" was still multiple grand.
I like the Tudors a lot, hard to see one as a luxury watch for the working class due to the price. But hey if you can just walk into the store and buy one without any bullshit then maybe?
willpc14@reddit
Outside of Rolex and the "high horology" smell their own farts brands, can't you do walk into a dealer and buy pretty much whatever you want?
gimpwiz@reddit
I legitimately do not know. My question wasn't rhetorical, though it may have seemed like it. All I know is Rolex has a waitlist / wants relationships / whatever and some of the expensive brands do too.
KderNacht@reddit
Tag Heuer, you mean. Tudor is far too understated. More 'IB intern wishing to blend in' kind of energy
michal_hanu_la@reddit
I mean Tudor, because it is actually connected to Rolex.
Seeker80@reddit
Hamilton's out there too, just saying. For the US folks, it's an American brand as well.
KderNacht@reddit
The Chrysler 300 comes to mind.

Says it'll use the outgoing Corvette stingray v8, the 6.2L LT2 with 490hp. Wonder if there is any chance they'll be able to use the new 6.7L instead or in the future. Though honestly I wonder if there is any chance of this actually coming out. I've already been scorned by multiple British car companies attempting to make a new model, looking at you TVR and Gordon Murrey T33. Hell even established makes like Aston Martin have failed to deliver on their promise of a new manual for production vehicles, the valour and valiant don't count.

It’s going to be like three hundred thousand great British pounds isn’t it?
Penguinho@reddit
An ultra-high-performance luxury analogue driving experience for the working man (this man works in finance)
Redeemed_Expert9694@reddit
lol this car was probably cool in the 1950s, but it's 2026
don't know why it should excite anyone today
Agent_Kozak@reddit (OP)
That's like saying why would anyone buy a Porsche 911. This is not a like for like remake. It's a new gt for the modern age
Redeemed_Expert9694@reddit
The 911 has been around forever, its not popping out of the blue. Its Iconic
What the hell is a Jensen?!

If youre this clueless about cars, perhaps don't make such bold statements.

I once met a guy once who had a Jensen Interceptor. He was working on it in his driveway. I stopped in as I was driving by and asked him if it was a Saab Sonett. He tried to sell it to me.
I told my father, who has owned a shitload of old British cars, about this interaction. His disappointment in my question haunts me to this day.
Aggravating-Curve755@reddit
As it should, utter blasphemy!!
GodsFavoriteDegen@reddit
"You asked him if it was a Saab Sonett? Did he take a swing at you?"
Aggravating-Curve755@reddit
I would have

They aren't that different, if you've never seen either in person.
The Jensen is a much larger car, but the proportions and overall shape are very similar.
Aggravating-Curve755@reddit
Its like a wish version
Quick_Coyote_7649@reddit
When things are done right it’s not hard to make a good GT. Jensen is a very established car brand too.
V4_Sleeper@reddit
Wow non-turbocharged V8 no less (corvette engine)
dragonitexy@reddit
Sorry but the coolest 50s cars will be cool forever.

Gives me the Polestar 5 vibes. That isn’t a bad thing.

Time to start growing a mustache.
MrReadilyUnready@reddit
Like the new V8 TVR Griffith?
HoveringPorridge@reddit
Damn I hope this is a success for Jensen. The old SV8 was an ugly thing, but I had a ride in one briefly and it was immense. One of the best built cars I've ever sat in.
If they can maintain that level of finish, but get production numbers up a modern Interceptor has the potential to do really well.
michal_hanu_la@reddit
Oh, my. That looks like a very confused Chimaera.
Eggith@reddit
That thing looks like it silently farted and everyone in the room is just now smelling it.
lumpialarry@reddit
looks like it has a raging clue
Twiggyhiggle@reddit
Yikes it reminds me of the Panoz Esperante, but not in a good way.
Capri280@reddit
About a decade ago there's was an announcement of a Jensen name revival. I assume that one fizzled out, maybe whoever is backing this will have better luck this time
