Yet the difference in performance between a Kimber 2011 and a Staccato is 5-10% and performance wise it will only be evident in trigger pull quality. So your analogy isn’t apples to apples.

Every time I see Kimber automatics at the store I wonder “what is the market for these” as nothing seems to catch my eye, I never hear about them much here or at the range, but there are always like 6 models at higher prices than what I would consider the “I’ll check it out” ballpark.

I have a Kimber Custom II, it’s a wonderful 1911. But it’s just a plain ol 1911, nothing flashy, subtle laser grip and an STI carbon and titanium trigger (my favrit 1911 gunclit).

It’s one of the most inherently accurate repeatable pistols I’ve ever owned or fired. I’ve had this one over 20 years, it’s never failed.

Some of the newer “whorehouse” style pistols………….. I look at them and admire the intricate machine and handwork but feel like I would have to be suit and tie dressed to carry it. Or cross dressed?

They're hoping that the, admittedly successful, release of the 2K11 series will make everyone forget about the last 30 years. I'm glad the 2K11 is a good gun and hopeful this means an American made firearms company is turning a corner, but history is against them and history is never a good thing to bet against.

This info might be outdated, but from what I've heard it's a father and son team at Kimber. The dad ran the wheel gun side (some of the best on the market) and the son ran the semi auto side (years of QC issues). Wonder who moved over to Sig?

Correction: Ron Cohen wasn’t CEO of Kimber, he was the general manager of Kimber manufacturing in the early 2000s, and then became sig CEO in 2005. And we all know about what happened in sig afterwards

The reviews on the 9mm version are mostly positive. It could be a good choice for LO, the price is pretty competitive. I just wish there was a more plain looking version.
