How long do trailers you dock in a receiver or shipper stay in the dock usually before it gets reloaded and another driver picks it up ?

Asking because there’s a trailer I docked which I do t like and don’t want to pick that one up again

Anywhere from a couple hours to a couple weeks.

Really depends what kind of freight and how busy that place is tbh 💀 some warehouses are super slow with their turnaround especially if its not priority stuff. I've seen trailers just sitting there for days because they're backed up or waiting on inventory
if you really dont want that specific trailer again maybe try timing your pickup different or talk to dispatch about it? though they might just tell you to deal with it lol 😂

Yeah that trailer got some damage and it’s a pain .i don’t like using that . Hope another driver picks it up

Report the damage to your company and to the customer.

won't they blame me for it if I report it?

This is why people get put out of service, no one wants to report trailer issues. Then the next guy gets inspected and screwed.
You should have reported it when you first picked up the trailer, or during transit if that's when the issue was found. You waited, but still need to report the issue rather than leave it for your fellow driver to get stuck with it.

I see a lot of broken trailers all the time, not sliding tandems, leaking air tank, ripped mudflaps, missing mudflaps, I tell dispatch and move to the next trailer. I don't think even dispatch have time for trailer recovery .

Anywhere from 2-3 hours to 2-3 months.

Depends on if you got empty trailers at that facility or if another trailer is already there getting unloaded if there is it takes anywhere from 4-8 hours to unload a trailer depending on the facility

Its so completely random. Depends on the shipper, the commodity, and the carrier. Can be 20 minutes to 20 days.

I was just at a receiver today and I saw the same trailer I dropped off at their other warehouse down the street last Friday. In that time it had been unloaded, moved, and then reloaded again, and was waiting for a driver to pick it up. My company has GPSs on all their trailers, and I can look and see where trailers are and their load status.
