What’s the movie you put on when you want to clear your head and escape?

Mine is the Bourne movies when I want an action film, that just focuses you, or ET if I need to cry

Hot Rod. It’s the perfect level of dumb humour that my brain can just switch off and still find it hilarious
drivelhead@reddit
Kind Hearts and Coronets
Sir Alec Guinness playing the entire D'Ascoyne family is wonderful.
Whoosholliander@reddit
Such a good film!
silentv0ices@reddit
Glen Powell just released a very American version of the story. How to make a killing. Not a patch on the original of course.
popsy13@reddit (OP)
Never heard of it, but will check it out, thank you
drivelhead@reddit
It's an old movie. There's no action or effects, just a solid story. It has a calmness to it, despite all the murders.
popsy13@reddit (OP)
Good to know, I like old movies, with one exception: The Sand Pebbles. I’m a Steve McQueen fan, but my word it’s around 3 hours long and it’s just not for me I guess, I struggled. Still haven’t managed to finish it
silentv0ices@reddit
I love the sand pebbles just shows everyone likes different things.
Whoosholliander@reddit
Only Yesterday, Whisper of The Heart or Manhattan Murder Mystery.

Flight of the Navigator.
sennalvera@reddit
I love a disaster movie. Independence Day or 2012 or Volcano.
Ambitious-Health-132@reddit
Same for me. Everyone always finds it weird. The Day after Tomorrow is my comfort watch, something about the end is peaceful idk
Objective_Echo6492@reddit
The Day after Tomorrow is mine as well. I love a disaster film, but tend to gravitate to that one more than others.
That and A Cinderalla Story are my top comfort films that I can watch over and over.
ruobrah@reddit
Dante’s Peak and Twister also. Great films
atomic_mermaid@reddit
Fucking LOVE disaster films. They seem to have been a 90s thing, why can't that trend cycle back round!
sennalvera@reddit
These days folk would probably be rooting for the volcano :\
zero_sevenn@reddit
There’s a recent one added to Netflix - Thrash. Hurricane, storm surge and sharks. It’s a terrible film but still a fun watch

popsy13@reddit (OP)
Oooh! The alien movies I will watch anytime. I have the box set, but for some reason only watch when they come on tv!
VolatileFudge@reddit
I watched my old box set so much they got wrecked from being left out whilst I cycled through them.
I asked for the exact same boxset from ebay for Christmas and will take much better care of this one now I'm not an idiot in my 20s leaving discs on the side
popsy13@reddit (OP)
Ah! Make sure you both look after them and watch them!
