Why are Americans so goal-oriented compared to Europeans?

Having worked in a European company for almost 3 years now and recently bought out by an American company, their mindset is much different! My new co-workers communicate and do everything very efficiently. They always want to improve something and frankly we got ton of new clients since the acquisition.
My Swedish colleagues and friends always talk about their problems and simple things. We also settle for less. People are happy going to work everyday doing the same repetive things, come home and vacations.
But Americans always talk about homes, stocks, business and they want to pursue everything!

We value ambition, innovation, and personal wealth accumulation (and greed)

It’s the way American culture is, I think it’s insane. Everyone always trying to get more, nobody actually happy with where they are. Even at jobs where people make plenty to have a great life, raise their families, go on vacations, retire at a reasonable age, etc, they still just want more more more.
Culturally you’re thought of a lazy if you aren’t that way in the US. Exhausting work culture.

Because if you aren't that intense the system can eat you alive. No safety net means you damn well better stick the landing and more than once.

Our ancestors gave up everything to come here, they had to grind to survive. Some things never change
