Company Using My Info to Double Book Loads

Hey guys, left the industry a little over a year ago. Been living my life as a desk jockey at a construction company. Today I started getting notifications that I’m booked for a load going from Oklahoma to Mississippi. Problem 1, I haven’t drove a truck since January of 2025. Problem 2, this company was sleazier than hell and was the reason I left. Is there anything I can do about this? I reached out to whoever sent the load and they said more than likely they’re double booking and using my name as the driver. I just don’t want my name tied to an accident or something going wrong God forbid. Company is Medion Corp out of Illinois, I’m not afraid to put them on blast

Reach out to the FMCSA.
Also I’d see about consulting a lawyer in your state or the state of Illinois too.
Ok_Detail_9083@reddit
How do you even knows it’s double booked?
Just move on with your day, all these people commenting FMCSA have nothing better to do LOL
RuneScape420Homie@reddit
Are you a broker?
Ok_Detail_9083@reddit
Point is. You have 0 clue if it’s double brokered. Neither do it. 2nd point is - don’t scream fire if you don’t know it’s fire lol
you clearly don’t know that FMCSA don’t give a shit, they will do absolutely nothing at all about this, unless there is concrete evidence and even so they still don’t give shit. I’ve been doing this for over a decade

Broker.

I don’t really care what you have to say. You should go finger yourself and touch grass.

I have a trucking company. Dispatcher might just have outdated driver list. Very common lol
Fancy_Chip_5620@reddit
Agreed oilfield company i haven't worked for since like 2022 texted me the location of a job a couple months back...
Exact-Leadership-521@reddit
One time the insurance company phoned and asked if I was working for a guy, said I was principal operator on 7 trucks. So I guess my license is the best he's seen
MssMoodi@reddit
Well, double-check your check taxes too because companies will put loads on people to make their quarters look better.
Ill_Committee5077@reddit (OP)
What do you mean like a W4?
MssMoodi@reddit
Yes
Ill_Committee5077@reddit (OP)
I haven’t gotten one from them in years. How would I go about getting that?
Driving_Potato@reddit
Check the irs transcript website. They have all reported company documents. It’s how I found out my previous LTL company corrected my w2 without telling me
steggun_cinargo@reddit
I'm not a trucker so I'm curious, how did you get notified? As in what if you had made a Gmail (assuming it was over email) just for your time at the company and got rid of it once you left, would you even have realized this was happening?
Ill_Committee5077@reddit (OP)
I got a text to sign into an app and load information with my name and phone number
WIbigdog@reddit
Example number 5,029,472 of why when I drove I refused to install any apps that let brokers track me. Can't trust them bastards.
Kindly_Region@reddit
Don't worry, Habibi is gonna drive his 11 hours then as a favor to you so you can stay at your desk, he's gonna drive your 11 hours too!
Slater_8868@reddit
That's MISTER Habibi to you sir
steggun_cinargo@reddit
I think Mister Habibi must have been who I saw cleaning his bare feet in the bathroom sink at Loves.
easymacmac85@reddit
Smh, of course its a foreign trash carrier out of illinois
wild-wiesel@reddit
Wouldn’t that constitute as identity theft?
ardoin@reddit
Plus fraud
Spartan9802@reddit
Among a multitude of other things. Another one would be multiple facets of falsification. They’re gonna get fried and @op stands to make some bank
Cfwydirk@reddit
You should immediately report this fraudulent activity to the FMCSA National Consumer Complaint Database (NCCDB) and request a copy of your HireRight/DAC report to dispute the false entries. This is identity theft and a violation of DOT regulations. Also, contact law enforcement to file a police report to create a legal paper trail. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (.gov)
Report to FMCSA: Use the NCCDB website or call 1-888-DOT-SAFT (1-888-368-7238) to report safety, service, or fraud issues.

Thank you for this. I sent out a request to HireRight, filed a complaint with FMCSA, and one with some kinda general office of the DOT or something like that. My friends wife is a lawyer so I’ll be asking what other avenues I have to make sure this never comes to haunt me.
Microshlongg@reddit
Reach out to the the FMCSA. It’s not about them responding. It’s about you creating a paper trail of trying to get this resolved. Incase like you said an incident happens with your name tied to the load
Fisting-Tony@reddit
Exactly. Paper trails. Save the confirmation numbers and screen shot whatever you can.
Mindless_Pandemic@reddit
They are probably using a copy of your driver's licenses with an illegal too. Contact Feds immediately!
Waisted-Desert@reddit
Look up the broker on SAFER. Call and tell them the carrier is falsely using your driver info to book a load and they were flat out lied to. With any luck, this will get the carrier blacklisted and unable top book anymore loads.
And don't worry, there is no legal ties between this load and you just because they put your name on the load.
Sea-Count-5298@reddit
Call the broker. Not me🫣🙊🙉🙈
Ill_Committee5077@reddit (OP)
I called FMCSA and filed a complaint, as well as emailed them screenshots of the load info I was sent, broker asking me if I’m on my way lol, etc
zzdis@reddit
incompetent brokers
