Compatible hydraulic brakes?

A friend of mine that works as a delivery guys at just eat (lieferando) has this cheap bike and the mechanic brakes (front brake at least) doesn’t work anymore, he went the bike shop because he wants to switch to hydraulic ones but the old men said he can’t do anything under 200€ and that he needs special brakes because of the cable that’s connecting the brakes with the motos … I said „can’t be“, disconnected the cable for the motor and took a ride, not really an issue.
Could you recomand me an brake tha would be compatible with the frame please!? He spent 800€ (monthly payment) 2 months ago for this bike and as a student he can’t really afford to waste this kind of money.

A bike shop cannot expose themselves to liability by disconnecting the brake sensor motor cutoff leads.
If the existing brakes "don't work anymore", they likely just need adjustment or new brake pads. Learning how to do this should be the first priority.
While the mounts appear to be standard, hydraullic brakes can over stress the front fork. Given the bike uses a quick release fork, I doubt it's made to high standards.

As far as I know any disc brake uses the same mount regardless of cable or hydraulic. You can buy a complete brake lever with pipe and calipers for very little on AliExpress. Just an example.

Exactly. Just to make sure the hydraulic line is the correct length or a tad too long, but definitely not too short.
