Contrary to rumor, Neiman Marcus isn’t leaving NorthPark.

We checked, and both the store and the mall say Neiman's isn't going anywhere.

The amount of information I have read about this against my will is insane. I’ve never cared less about anything

I know most of us are not regular Neimans shoppers. They are a really ridiculous luxury store running low on time now. But the history of that institution is pretty cool, just like the history of North Park mall. I think sometimes we undervalue what Dallas has because it isn’t as “cool” as other places or whatever. But it’s our city. We should care.

Yup. My favorite mall most due to the LACK of vendors and other folks selling crap in the middle of the walk ways. Go to another mall then compare the experience of seeing art and other exhibits to the vendors buying for your attention and trying to get you to buy their things in the middle of the ball. It’s a much less stressful experience shopping at North Park.

Same here but too bad they installed flock surveillance cameras in all the lots

The same assholes that proclaim Dallas has no culture are the same assholes that hope for Neimans to fail, want to knock down city hall, bitch about the DMN paywall, and say Deep Ellum is sketchy.

Thank God. Sometimes I run out of my $225 NEST New York Himalayan Salt & Rosewater 4-Wick Candles and I absolutely can't wait for next day delivery.

I kind of thought that was bullshit, only because I had read an article during covid, in Dallas Business Journal. Basically said there was so much money tied up in Northpark, investment wise, it could take years before the property lost enough money that they'd look at store closings. Apparently a good number of local magnates invest money in areas they patronize, and it would take serious losses to pull out.

I’d say mods should close that old thread and ban that user - or perhaps leave it up to showcase how quickly users are ready to jump on a bandwagon and theorize before actually questioning the sources.
