Never shot a Walter. How does something like this compare to a CZ p10f? Obviously this is comped so it’s not apples to apples but overall I guess
FallJacket@reddit
I did not find it to be particularly snappy. But I also have the full size pdp pro.
gammonwalker@reddit
In terms of the "feel" and trigger, I own a couple Walthers with the Dynamic Performance Trigger installed here.
It is by far one of the best striker fired handgun triggers available: short takeup, unbelievably clean break, great reset, rigid wall, near imperceptible creep, pull weight easily lowered to ~2lbs with a simple and cheap spring change. The Canik triggers are about equal, and possibly made slightly better with a Freedom Smith trigger shoe.
The CZ P10F has a very good trigger for the price point, but Walther and Canik are significantly better IMO. In terms of accuracy or recoil, I can't say.
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
One of the worst triggers vs the best trigger on a safetyless gun. I much prefer the Walther grip shape and the mags are cheaper and more common.
Prodigal_One@reddit
Hmmmm I put the p10 series triggers 2nd best in this arena based on my personal experience.
PDP>P10>Echelon>M&P2.0
I like them all but love them in this order.
forbiddenchurro18@reddit (OP)
Which one has the worst trigger?
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
P10, I don't know why people say they're good, a Glock trigger would be a massive improvement.
Important_Art1182@reddit
Bro...Glock triggers are the worse. Anyone who says otherwise scares me that they're on the same planet as I am.
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
Unfortunately my planet has a lot worse.
Mightknowitall@reddit
Dafuq are you talking about?
Foreign-Frame-7200@reddit
Agreed, this guy is off his rocker.
Foreign-Frame-7200@reddit
You consider one of the worst triggers to be a Cz? My p10c is one of the best factory triggers I’ve felt in the sub compact class. Leaps and bounds better than a Glock or m&p
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
I don't know what Glocks or M&Ps you've tried, or maybe your p10 trigger was replaced with something off of a different gun.
c0sm0nautt@reddit
I think between those two and the 20 other striker fired polymors on the market, it comes down to personal preference. Common trends I see is people really enjoy the ergonomics and trigger on the PDP, but some say it can be a bit snappy. This version of the PDP should alleviate the snappy concern.
Apprehensive-Cod95@reddit
Shot quite a few and this is a very accurate take
HitmanFluffy@reddit
This is pretty much my exact experience with the pdp. The trigger is a big step up over the competition, but even tuning the recoil spring doesn't solve the snappiness.
SaltyLunch722@reddit
I replaced my plastic guide rod with a hefty metal contained spring from dpm. Much better experience.
SgtToadette@reddit
So I have about 2k rounds on a P10F and about 13k on the PPQ, which is effectively a non-OR PDP.
The P10F has a smoother recoil cycle and a heavier trigger. I changed out the shoe for a flat HB Industries one, but kept all the springs the same.
The PPQ has a "faster" recoil impulse, but it returns to zero very fast which, combined with the lighter trigger, makes it very shootable. It might take a bit more getting used to on the front end, though.
Either way, you can't go wrong with either. If I was starting from scratch, I'd go PDP, but I feel no pressure to retire my P10F for one.
Zealousideal_Ad2379@reddit
would you recommend the HB trigger or the overwatch precision?
Did the HB give you a considerable upgrade in your opinion?
420Swagnum7@reddit
P10SC owner.
After looking at both HBI and Overwatch triggers, I went for the MCARBO flat trigger shoe. I wanted a change up from the stock shoe but the P10 has such a good stock trigger that I didn't want to mess with anything internal.
It's very similar to the Vickers Tactical Glock trigger shoe if you've tried that. I like it quite a lot, but just changing the trigger shoe isn't going to change how the pull fundamentally is, since it's just an upgrade to help the human pulling it. If you're going to get a P10C/F or already have one, then consider the MCARBO too.
That said I didn't use any of the overtravel/takeup screws on the MCARBO, nor the reduced strength firing pin spring.
SgtToadette@reddit
I only upgraded because the stock trigger shoe was creating blisters on the pad of my trigger finger after shooting a match. The flat face of the HB fixed that without significantly changing the internals.
I haven't shot the Overwatch, but I generally don't like using aftermarket triggers. It makes less of a difference than people think and opens up room for malfunctions to occur.
I still think the stock P10 trigger is quite nice, but it's probably 5.5-6lbs compared to Walthers which are generally in the 5-5.5lb range.
My PPQ is probably in the mid to high 4s after the rounds I've put through it.
Zealousideal_Ad2379@reddit
Thank you!
Foreign-Frame-7200@reddit
I think for the money the p10f is hard to beat. Especially if you wanted to throw a comp in it you’d be at like 550 for a solid pistol.
Prestigious_Mix556@reddit
Smart take
NoBreakfast1718@reddit
Looks like others have already answered but I’m on the toilet -
I’ve shot a few thousand through a P10C and PDP Compact (both base models). I think my hands are fairly normal size and the PDP feels more comfortable/stable to me, but I think I just tend to enjoy more of a palm swell/formed fit. P10C grip angle and bore axis are super neat, tho. Sort of a “yep, that’s a gun” vs “oh that’s comfy”.
Both shoot great. PDP is definitely snappier, but it doesn’t bother me much for some reason. I think since I enjoy the grip and feel locked into it, the impulse is just different as opposed to something I feel like I need to work against.
Whatever combo of factors tend to have me taking quicker follow up shots with the PDP.
That said - P10C with some palm swells?? Very appealing.
CamelAdventure@reddit
Apples to oranges.
P10F is a great general use "economy" gun, kind of like a Honda Civic is a great all-rounder at an entry price point. For that class and price point, it is highly regarded.
The pdp pro x is a comped performance-oriented pistol with actual ergonomic thought put into the grip at roughly double the price point. They are completely different guns that, in reality, no one would cross-shop.
SouthernCash8507@reddit
I got a walther pdp pro sd compact and it shoots so GOOOD, groups are really good
SouthernCash8507@reddit
I did add a comp and recoil spring tho
forbiddenchurro18@reddit (OP)
I was looking to buy this myself. I’ve shot the pdp but not this version. I can only imagine it shoots even better. I wanted to hear some feedback from other people. The grip is definitely one of the most comfortable and ergonomic grips out there. I think it beats out the CZ this comes with their match trigger which is insanely nice.
Foreign-Frame-7200@reddit
I have a local sportsman’s. Maybe I’ll swing by and see if they have one that I can coon finger
RNAguns@reddit
Am I the only one that thinks that colored Walthers are butt ass ugly with the black backstraps? They look so cheap -- like a car with one differently colored quarter panel.
Minimum_Government@reddit
C&H Doody grade.
Walther makes some great guns and partners with some real garbage.
Bellsoffreedom@reddit
Ergonomic and great shooter. I prefer the the compact version of the PDP. PPQ and PDP are one of the only striker fires used in competitions shooting.
I have many hand guns and have shot just about everything. Tough to beat the quality of an off the shelf that sells for under 1k. .
Only draw back is the PDP is a bit too thick for concealed carry.
Le_Notsee_BrownShirt@reddit
I’d rather chew on olight batteries than buy a gun with this “optic”
Prodigal_One@reddit
The people (generalization) that use C&H dots by "necessity" aka they cant or wont buy other dots....are no way in hell buying a one thousand dollar gun "package". And those that trash their viridians and c&h dots that come as a real deal for a gun, aint buying this either. Of course there is the 1% that will.
enixthephoenix@reddit
Whatever value they attribute to that c&h is too much. I got a different model for free during a promotion when I got my PDP and it just straight up did not work out of the box. Not worth the effort to replace so I just chucked it
raheelc@reddit
I guess this makes me feel better since I just paid for one of these last week lol
enixthephoenix@reddit
I still say I came out on top since I got the pro like a month before they had that MSRP bump. Solid piece for $459
raheelc@reddit
Oh dam I didn't think of redeeming some credit card points etc lol. Will keep that in mind for my next purchase haha
enixthephoenix@reddit
If it's anything like Marriott you'll forget about the order, have to do multiple orders of max $100 per card, and it shows up when it shows up, no tracking or updates
chferg1s@reddit
I just want a decently priced pdp compact, is that too much to ask for
CamelAdventure@reddit
They're about 500 now, seems pretty reasonable?
chferg1s@reddit
I want the 499 like the full size is getting lol
IndividualCarrot396@reddit
Is this BIN?
Way_2_Go_Donny@reddit
I'm hesistant to mount that C&H precision "Duty" RDS on my son's 22lr Bolt Action Rascal...
AutomataDeObama@reddit
They can't even machine or coat their plates correctly, I'd pass on their Chinesium bullshit. They probably get better QC from the factory than when C&H gets them.
Fragger-3G@reddit
It's honestly impressive how their $70+ plates manage to have worse quality and fit compared to $35 DPP Titanium plates.
Justthetippliz@reddit
Pepperidge farm remembers Walther ran a promo for the C&H duty dot free last year with the purchase of any PDP

ronman32bit@reddit
I like cz p-10 better. After the cz p10 trigger is broken in, it is so nice.
Mightknowitall@reddit
My P10F consistently impresses people at competitions or range days. They seriously punch well above their price point. Especially if you add a brass backstrap for some more weight/balance

I absolutely love the trigger on my p10c. Guy above said it’s one of the worst triggers 🤔
ThermosphericRah@reddit
Call me when 649 no dot
The_Longest_Shot@reddit
And I want a Ma Deuce for $99.99, but sometimes reality stands in the way
forbiddenchurro18@reddit (OP)
My lgs has the non dot pdp pro x for $849. Idk if they get much cheaper than that.
