How many pairs of shoes you own?

I personally own 2 pairs: trainers for everyday stuff and a pair of hiking boots for the quarterly walk
Guy_Incognito97@reddit
Everyday trainers.
Running/gym trainers.
Dirty trainers for the garden.
Nice shoes I never wear.
Doc Martens I never wear.
So five, plus slippers.

Maybe 30, but I have big feet so when I find shoes that comfortably fit I buy a second or third pair so I have them to replace the current ones when they wear down.
Elster-@reddit
I feel your pain.
I have a 10 year old daughter who wears size 9s and a wife who wears size 10s.
If we find any pair of shoes that fit. We buy 2 pairs.
ThrowRAkitty13@reddit
It's not fun. I'm thinking of getting custom fit shoes so I have something of a good quality that should last but also looks nice.
littlebird2446@reddit
What size feet do you have? Sorry I’m nosey
ThrowRAkitty13@reddit
I'm a women's 8 or 9 depending on the brand, but the issue is more the width of my feet which limits my choice in footwear. I even had surgery to narrow my feet, but that only helped so much.
littlebird2446@reddit
Ah okay. Yeah I totally get it. I’m a woman’s 9 in a wide fit (😭) so when I find a nice pair of shoes that fit I buy in a couple of colours or whatever. I’ve amassed quite a collection now too!
ThrowRAkitty13@reddit
Any brand recommendations?
littlebird2446@reddit
I don’t know if you’re a sandals kind of person but I’m loving crocs sandals right now. Some are adjustable so you can create your own width and I find the none adjustable ones roomy anyway. I have the Brooklyn cork sandals in 3 colours because they are SO comfy and look fantastic.
New Look always work for me. I can buy any 9 wide and they always fit great.
ASOS is also a good one!! Lots of wide options.
I’m not sure exactly how wide your feet are though so sorry if these don’t work for you.
BobBobBobBobBobDave@reddit
I am a man, where wide feet is more common, but I always had a problem until i found that higher end shoemakers do width sizes as well as shoes sizes (which are based on length).
I buy shoes in a G width fitting now if possible (F is standard), and it just makes it so much more comfortable. I used to just accept my feet being cramped all the time in smart shoes.
ThrowRAkitty13@reddit
I wish more brands did different widths, but I can't find many women's ones that do and often what is labelled as "wide" really isn't that wide and there also isn't the option to size up when you're at the top of the size scale 😕
Distinct-Lion4658@reddit (OP)
That's quite smart tbf, might do that the next time I buy a pair
Pockysocks@reddit
Two.
One pair for wearing. One pair for when the first pair wear out.
Turbulent_Pea8418@reddit
18-19 now but I only wear 3-4 of them
LungHeadZ@reddit
I have my daily trainers, my dress shoes, old trainers and a pair of iron bru flip flops I got through a promotion. Life is pretty sweet
Distinct-Lion4658@reddit (OP)
What an incredible combination of words
ohnoyoudontlikeme@reddit
Same as you, just sick of how bad they deteriorate so actually have 3 now. Bought some army surplus boots
Distinct-Lion4658@reddit (OP)
It is frustrating how fast some shoes fall apart. I might look into some more expensive quality ones if it meant they would last longer than 2 years
BobBobBobBobBobDave@reddit
It will be more expensive, but if you get yourself a solidly made pair of Goodyear welted shoes or boots, you will see the difference.
I have some shoes and boots I have been wearing fairly regularly for more than a decade (although I have had to have some of them repaired and resolved in that time).
Distinct-Lion4658@reddit (OP)
Thanks I'll definitely check them out. I don't think I would mind needing to get shoes repaired if it means they last a couple more years. I have similar approach to my phone, had it since 2020 and it's been through the ringer but I've managed to keep it going
HirsuteHacker@reddit
Highly recommend Loakes shoes.
heyitsed2@reddit
I've had a pair of trail running trainers that became my everyday trainers and they've been going strong since ~2020...
Flying_worms@reddit
I’m a woman and have about 15 pairs of
HirsuteHacker@reddit
So I think that's 7 pairs.
Feisty-Lifeguard-550@reddit
Too many , I have boxes and boxes of training shoes , don’t drink or smoke so that’s my problem 🤣
Distinct-Lion4658@reddit (OP)
Sounds like a better alternative!
Wart_Time_L32@reddit
Sandals Garden shoes Trainers Running shoes X 2 (not that I run) Smart shoes Casual shoes Winter shoes Slippers
So 9 for me.
Zdos123@reddit
5, Vans (for driving and day stuff), Steel Toe Cap Boots, Walking Shoes, Formal Work shoes and wellies if you would even consider those shoes
Distinct-Lion4658@reddit (OP)
I used to have a Vans-style pair of shoes and loved them for driving because of the hard, thinner sole. Felt much more connected to the car than in trainers with an inch if styrofoam at the bottom
haggis_catcher-@reddit
5 or 6 if crocs count
-FangMcFrost-@reddit
I own two pairs of shoes.
One pair are my everyday shoes and the other pair are my gardening shoes.

musicallymotivated93@reddit
I've got 4. An old pair of skate shoes I use for going to and from work in and wearing while doing outdoor jobs, a decent pair of skate shoes, a pair of smart shoes, and my work steelies.
PinkandTwinkly@reddit

Dramatic-Can-6680@reddit
Umm about 60. Counted them up last year. Have sold about 8 pairs so far and donated some to charity shops. On a mission to get down to 30
sin0shine0@reddit
I've always wondered why people have so many shoes, I'm quite a minimalist person so I just have shoes I actually will wear on rotation. Why do you have so many shoes? This isn't to be rude I'm just curious how many you actually wear? Or do you have a select few you wear all the time? Or do you like collecting shoes?
sin0shine0@reddit
One pair of sandals One pair of run about trainers for nipping out to shops One pair of nice trainers One pair of boots And one pair of absolutely disgusting piece of shit shoes that I wear when it's shite weather so my nice shoes don't get ruined
No-Ad3310@reddit
dbltax@reddit
Maybe 12-15 as a 40yo man. A couple of pairs of boots, a couple of pairs of outdoors shoes,, a few pairs of skate/bike shoes, a few pairs of smart shoes, a few smart-casual numbers and a mix of espadrilles/mules/sandals for summer.
madcaplaughed@reddit

split-tennisball@reddit
About 30 pairs of trainers.

If I'm right: 9 pairs of trainers of various types, 1 pair of running shoes, 1 pair of smart work shoes, 4 pairs of boots, 1 pair of walking shoes, 1 pair of hiking boots, flip flops, 2 pairs of sandals, 1 pair of reef shoes, 1 pair of wellies, an old knackered pair of trainers I keep for gardening, and my slippers.
Stunning-Attention81@reddit
I have 3 pairs really, my shit flickers that never gets worn, pair of running trainers and a pair of Reebok classics.
Maybe I should include safety boots and sliders ?
Least-Entrepreneur23@reddit
8 or 9 but I only actually seem to wear about 2 or 3 of them
Dazzling_Evidence_19@reddit
I own about 40 pairs. I wear trainers (one of 2 pairs 90% of the time) why do I have so many? because my feet haven't grown since I was 12 and every time I have to buy shoes to go with wedding or interview outfit I wear them once and keep them for the next occasion.
teacup901@reddit
2 pairs of trainers. A pair of walking shoes. 1 pair wellington boots. One pair of smart shoes. One pair of sketchers. I only really wear one or two pairs.

Think_Money_6919@reddit

MrsKToBe@reddit
A big blanket chest full Plus about 10 pairs of Irregular Choice which are kept separately
BG3restart@reddit
I probably have more than 50, including boots. I have a holiday home, so keep a lot of stuff there.
EasySignature179@reddit
About 40, 70+ at one point. Used to collect but started a job where i have to wear safety boots which made it impossible to cycle through a variety, been slowly whittling down.
ClericalRogue@reddit
2 trainers (walking/wirkout vs casual), 3 boots (1 mid, 1 high, 1 ankle), 1 court shoe, 1 flat, 1 heeled. So 8 pairs total. One for every occassion basically.
BobBobBobBobBobDave@reddit
A few years ago it was over 30 but I had a clear out.
I have a few of pairs of trainers, two pairs of walking boots, a few pairs of casual boots, two pairs of brogues, about six pairs of smart shoes in different styles, some sandals, some boat shoes, some canvas espadrilles, and a few pairs of work boots.
So still over 20.
Irony is I work from home and wear Crocs or slippers 95% of my life.
Asleep-Software-4160@reddit
Probably about 15, mostly walking boots and running shoes. Only usually have a few pairs in circulation, but once they're too shagged for good company they go in the ever-growing DIY/just in case pile.
Confident_Dig_7834@reddit
littlebird2446@reddit
