Youth (in my heart) and old age (in reality) collide

When did the text on the Manic Panic bottle get so *small*? I had to use my phone's camera to zoom in so I could read it.
Is that their way of telling me I'm too old to be getting back into rainbow hair?

I mean the biggest tell for me in this is still using manic panic when hair dyes have come a long way since those were the choice. Check out Pulp Riot, or Good Dye Young.

Pulp riot and Arctic fox!
Moxie_Stardust@reddit
What's the benefit to either of those over Manic Panic? I did try Arctic Fox but wasn't a fan. If it's just that the color stays longer, that's a negative for me, not a positive.
edasto42@reddit
You mention Arctic Fox-one of the things that my stylists friends have said about that brand in particular is that it won’t dry your hair out like manic does.
But that’s often a big advantage of other brands is preventing the dryness. But also manic is famous for bleeding everywhere (pillows, shirts, towels, ears) sometimes for days after dying. Modern brands have gotten a lot of that under control. The other thing I’ve noticed, especially for those that don’t want it to last too long, is the fading is way better. I couldn’t tell you how many times about a week after dying with manic and the fade was just an awful color. And the other thing I’ve noticed when comparing newer brands to manic is the consistency. Manic is often really thin and runny comparatively. This makes application a pain, newer brands just stay where they’re put.
While manic panic doesn’t necessarily have anything wrong with it per se, it has been surpassed by other stuff. It still works, but you’re tolerating annoyances that got solved years ago.

I definitely will! I grabbed MP's virgin snow to tone the parts I bleached until I decide which colors to do

I look forward to having naturally white/gray hair so dying colors doesn't require any bleach. That's my way of saying we are never too old. might need glasses to read the instructions tho. xD
Morriganx3@reddit
SAME! I need it to happen faster, because I want to go pink again!
YouHadTheHighGround@reddit
Fuck the instructions! Just shake it up, dump it in, and look cool. (At least, that's how I felt 25 years ago after my Billy Idol white dye job when I knew every strand would grow back)

LOL

eh, you just need readers. I'm in the same boat - Optometrist told me my vision is still 20/20, it's just that my eyes' lenses are less flexible so I can't focus on smaller text up close.
throwawayhbgtop81@reddit
No, it's the universe telling you to rock the fuck out of that rainbow hair.
Moxie_Stardust@reddit
You've got presbyopia.
TheAngerMonkey@reddit
Just the worst. I spent 42 years of my life with uncorrected 20/15 vision and now I can't read my goddamned phone.
And don't even get me started on skincare products! Why is it in a beige on pale pink 6pt font???

Whenever I wonder if I’m too old to do something, I imagine Betsey because I can’t imagine she’s ever thought “I’m too old” in her entire life.

To be fair it is small, so many words so little space! But it is never too late for rainbow hair! 🌈

My mom is 76 and she had purple hair for a while. On purpose, I mean.

It's their way of telling you that you have to really want rainbow hair. Do it!
shiftdown@reddit
My sisters in her mid 50's and has been rocking the rainbow or other loud colors the whole time. Don't let bad eyes stop you from your fun. Maybe get some glasses though?
WholesaleBees@reddit
No. You're never too old for fun hair. You just have to think about your fun hair colors when picking out what color glasses to wear.
