RAMs become paperweight after they're removed.

Okay so I have this old setup that has the weirdest issue, basically what the title says, the rams work fine, but the moment i take it off and reseat it, it becomes unusable.
The system powers but the won't beep, or show anything, and the hdd light keeps blinking.
I'm changing this setup anyway but i just want to know what the hell could cause this. I tested the ram in another pc and it doesn't work at all.
You could say because it's an old DDR3 pc but still.

If youre running 2 pair or a mismatched set you might have a stick or two that needs more voltage. I have 2 pair in my pc and one pair needs 2 clicks more than the other to be stable, i even bought a 3rd pair, and no matter which combo I use I need that little bump to be stable.

nope one stick, it's really a bizarre issue. as i said; take it off and it will never work again

Before remove/insert ram, you need to, remove power cable, press case power button to discharge PSU capacitors.

I'm aware of that, i do that every time, this isn't the first time this happened with this PC, it has killed 2 previous rams

If there's no power and no static it shouldn't be possible to kill the ram. Maybe there are other powered devices still connected to the computer case.

i don't think it's static killing it, it's odd that the same thing happened to 3 rams, I'm guessing it's degradation over time due to an electrical problem, and taking off the ram is the final blow

Do you have other systems to test the ram? It sounds like you might have a motherboard issue. I agree its definitely weird.

i did test the rams on other PCs, they're completely gone. and it's definitely a motherboard issue
