"Drill baby drill" won. Of course they are going to gloat.
whereaswhere@reddit
They own the government, means of production, the military and mass media and all we can do is bear witness to this abysmally ludicrous shitshow. The insanity.
Siglet84@reddit
After 300,000 years on this planet, it only took us 100 years to destroy it. I really feel like this is why we are seeing a lot of “masks off” from the billionaires and politicians. The know a collapse is coming soon and are making their “run on the bank” to grab what they can.
Comrade_Compadre@reddit
Money wont hold it's value forever when they're living in bunkers worried about whether or not their security will remain loyal
Kaining@reddit
Looking what's happening in Ukraine, i just can't believe how Fallout New Vegas was spot on about the future.
Billionaires in their bunkers, leading war on life using a drone army is the future.
NoHuckleberry2543@reddit
Mr.House wanted to rule the world not destroy it.
No-Candidate6257@reddit
Money is, in fact, entirely worthless. What matters is the ability to hold and maintain property. That money is held by the programmers and engineers who develop and maintain the killbots.
Siglet84@reddit
It’s not the money that they are making a grab for. It’s control, power, technology. When you’re the one in control of the food, and other necessities. There is always the threat of, if you attempt to do harm to us, not only you but your family will pay as well. Just look at North Korea.
unknownpoltroon@reddit
They should be worried instead about the bunker doo s b in wielded shut and us crapping down the air vents
bamboob@reddit
I'm positive that it's the case. Extract every last ounce of wealth possible before the implosion, and get a robot army to maintain the hoard. People say that money won't be worth anything, but wealth always exists, irrespective of whether or not there is a functional currency, and oligarchs will have the vast majority of whatever that wealth will be. Elysium it is much more theoretically possible if a number of your main players own spacefaring companies…
No-Candidate6257@reddit
Well, people of capitalist countries need to take direct action.
rematar@reddit
Heads off, masked or knot
BadgerKomodo@reddit
These fuckers should be arrested.
j_mantuf@reddit (OP)
In a just world, they would be.
BadgerKomodo@reddit
Absolutely.
AdmiralAsshat69@reddit
I mean, knock yourself out. I can deny gravity right up until the moment I jump out a twenty-storey window.
choodudetoo@reddit
Na, you can keep denying until your body actually comes to a sudden stop.
extinction6@reddit
This may be the year that climate change denial gets spanked due to the predicted massive spikes in heat. Hopefully names are being added to the climate change deniers database as young people may get really angry soon and have nothing to lose.
03263@reddit
Probably we'll just consume more and make it worse in efforts to work around it.
Our whole system is built on growth, economy, trade... I thought of a simple thing. What if you want to opt out and live without money? Cant. There's no tax exemption even for a fully self sustaining community or homestead. You can't even exist without either earning income, going full on welfare, or getting in prison.
DisturbingPragmatic@reddit
Hilariously, climate change gives exactly zero fucks about your political opinion about its existence.
Ok-Restaurant4870@reddit
This needs to go on a billboard, t shirt, bumper sticker, get it in the sky. We are doomed.
j_mantuf@reddit (OP)
Exactly.
marion85@reddit
...in what is about to be the hottest year in history....
The first year in history to have a predicted "blue water event" when there is wstimated to longer be sufficient arctic ice to help keep the world cool over summer and increase humidy and temperatures across the globe that will cause mutilple heat bulbes events that will put anyone outside for more than 30 minutes at risk for heat stroke...
Now, the people who made that happen are in charge.
freedcreativity@reddit
There is a Cat 5 hurricane in the pacific in April. APRIL! Literally an out of season super hurricane.
ttystikk@reddit
Yep. Climate change just caught another gear.
ttystikk@reddit
Adding some clarity to this comment:
It's "Blue Ocean Event," defined as the Arctic Ocean will have less than a million square miles of ice coverage. It won't happen for a few years yet but we are certainly seeing the effects now...
..Which do NOT include "wet bulb events" directly but rather affect the jet stream and reduce the movement of atmospheric ridges and troughs, which lead to stagnant weather, including heat waves.
vand3lay1ndustries@reddit
Some NOAA models predict occurring by September of this year
ttystikk@reddit
While this model is considered to err on the side of more ice loss, I think we aren't far away.
It IS going to happen, and soon. That much is certain.
chefkoolaid@reddit
Yea Im not so sure the boe is still a few years away.
ttystikk@reddit
I'm pretty sure we'll see it by 2030 and there's a better than outside chance we could see it this summer.
The main point I was getting at is that we're already seeing its effects now, and those will only get worse.
marion85@reddit
Thank you for the clarification, I'll try to remember it for next time.
ttystikk@reddit
I'm happy to help people understand this stuff better. Look for Dr Paul Beckwith's YouTube channel and use the quoted phrases above as search terms. He's got lots of highly informative weather and climate related videos!
littlepup26@reddit
Record breaking spring here in Chicago, I just took a brisk walk to the grocery store and everyone is out in shorts and tank tops. I'm very nervous for summer.
No-Candidate6257@reddit
China progresses into the future as the US descends into open-faced fascist extremism, science-denialist policy, and a proudly anti-intellectual public.
MarcusXL@reddit
They're psychopaths.
And the majority of them know there is a climate crisis, they are just assuming they'll be one of the %1 of humans beings to survive it.
muddaFUDa@reddit
Morons think they can buy their way out of biosphere collapse.
redditmodsRrussians@reddit
They don’t understand they are playing the ultimate extraction game and they are believing their gold level kits can offset their lack of skill…….
free kit savages have entered the chat
chefkoolaid@reddit
1% survival seens optimiatic tbh
bottom_armadillo805@reddit
Truly, if alien life ever finds Earth, they will conclude that there was never intelligent life on this planet.
cr0ft@reddit
Yeah, a pack of fucking nutjobs or complete sociopaths using the climate to line their pockets.

SS:
Flaired as politics but several others apply as well.
This article is about a Washington conference organized by Heartland Institute brought together climate denial figures who openly celebrated their growing control over U.S. environmental policy.
Speakers (including EPA chief Lee Zeldin under Donald Trump) dismissed mainstream climate science and framed past climate action as overreach. Attendees promoted claims that CO₂ is beneficial and that global warming concerns are exaggerated.
The event reflects a broader shift: groups tied to fossil fuel interests are no longer on the fringe and are actively shaping federal policy.
Collapse related because:
This isn’t just denial, it’s institutional capture. At a time when climate impacts are accelerating, parts of the government are moving in the opposite direction, undermining mitigation efforts and reinforcing fossil fuel dependence. The gap between reality and policy continues to widen.
Barnacle_B0b@reddit
Trump and his billionaire child trafficking friends destroying America and the world right before our eyes.
Way to go Republican voters! You sure owned the libs by giving tech billionaires and religious zealots full control.
ttystikk@reddit
Solid analysis, thanks for both the post and this discussion.
j_mantuf@reddit (OP)
Thank you and you’re welcome.
OuterLightness@reddit
The deny climate now? Not surprising.
disclosureanticlimax@reddit
long-term patterns of weather conditions of a given area, typically averaged over 30 years or more is FAKE NEWS
Democrat_maui@reddit
disasterbot@reddit
I would tell them to burn in hell, but that is what they are trying to do.
Muhbeeps80@reddit
I would love, love, love, some pictures of the individuals promoting this bs. That way, when it hits, everyone has a nice reminder of whom said what! Don’t ya think?!
farscry@reddit
I rarely do this, but when I saw the image at the top of the article of the conference merch, I let out an absolutely flabbergasted "what the FUCK"
TheWeeWeeWrangler@reddit
I don't understand. Why don't they just find the supposed weather machine the democrats were using?
Distinguishedflyer@reddit
heart land. new speak.
AngusScrimm---------@reddit
The killer clowns continue their ascent. Some clowns want to make Jesus come back. Many powerful clowns want to loot as much as they possibly can before the crop failures get revved up. Clowns seem to have lots and lots of fun breaking things.
