Its not propaganda, I study genetics as a hobby, I have seen many DNA samples, it's actually true that modern Greeks are not close to ancient Greeks.

Closest group to ancient Greek is south Italians which make sense because ancient Greeks colonized this area and they didn't experience heavy mixing like modern mainland Greeks.

Sorry, my DNA and other Greek people's DNA that I've seen say otherwise. Strong links to Ancient Greek DNA is particularly strong in isolated island and mountainous mainland populations(like mine). Again, if modern Greeks have ancient Greek genetics (especially if its the majoriy of their DNA like mine and others) then they are relations. Modern Greeks today have similar faces of Greek statues and share close genetic links to Bronze Age inhabitants of Greece.

Like I said, science and history makes the rules. I, and especially you and the others do not.

South Italians have Ancient Greek admixture but they mostly descend from italic tribes indigenous to the area, which themselves were close to ancient Greeks due to high ANF admixture. Ancient Anatolians like Carians and Phrygians also cluster closer to south Italians than to Turks lmao. That doesn’t mean south Italians descend from Anatolians and Turks don’t 🤷🏻‍♀️
