Just got my L’s in Indiana, wanna get OTR. Any recommendations on where I should start my journey? Not tryna just jump into anything and get shitballed.

I wanna try flatbeds but I’m open to whatever. Thanks in advance!

Everyone seems to agree TMC is a good company, had a buddy flatbed at Maverick and he spoke highly of the company

I’ve heard good things about TMC, but they have the nickname of “Trucker Marine Corps” for good reason. Heard they have very stiff appearance rules and standards for keeping your truck clean. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but just something to think about.
Maverick seems ok from the times I’ve seen them, trucks looked in good shape. Know there’s a terminal in AR, not sure where others are.
Prime also does flatbed, training is more based out of Springfield, MO for that division. I run reefer so that’s about the extent of my knowledge for them. But I’ve met a few of the trainers from that side and they all seemed like actual pros who were actually teaching their students.

I heard TMC will kick you out for walking on the grass at their training yard in Des Moines.

Wouldn’t doubt it! Not saying that the way they do things is wrong either, just depends on if you personally are ready to buy into that. Like I try to be as professional and safe as I can be, keep my truck as clean as I possibly can, but I don’t have time to follow a bunch of crazy rules about how often I shave or having to wear anything resembling a uniform. I worked jobs that had specific rules for clothes for long enough, I’m wearing shorts and a tshirt if it’s nice enough out.
