Help me help her!

My wife may have an opportunity to work in either Quito, Ecuador or Guatemala City, Guatemala. Either one is going to be an adventure for me - she’s been to both several times, even living in Quito on two separate occasions.
Help me out - should she accept the job in Guatemala or Ecuador, as far as I am concerned?
I’m asking for info for me, the spouse who has never been to either place, so I can help her decide.

Ecuador is suffering from political instability now. And it has often in the past. Something to think about. And I’ve been to both places too. Guatemala City itself is really awful, dangerous and not very charming. I liked Quito better, but it’s at an altitude. They are both developing countries for sure.

Even during the strikes it wasn’t really unsafe for “tourists” or “expats” as long as you weren’t out searching for the trouble. Quito has good and bad parts like every major city.

This is an odd post, crowd sourcing opinions for your wife's career. Sounds like a decision she needs to make for herself first and then in conversation with you. But the way this is written, it sounds like you want to pressure her towards a favorable decision for your desires via input from strangers. 🤔
