Passwords saved on computers exist, he said he saw an email about the password change and if you reset a password login of the computer it does bring up the old one…. I choose to believe
father and I are both techies and like to browse electronics stores like best buy, fry's electronics, etc.
we walk by the gaming mouse aisle one day and I just mentioned I like the Logitech G5 cracked blue mouse.
we are not rich, typical middle class family. father didnt like me playing vidya too much because it distracts me from studies (we're asian immigrants).
that christmas morning I wake up to the mouse by my bedside, not wrapped. I was so happy and surprised because we're asian and don't usually celebrate christmas like white people with a tree and presents, etc. He has never bought me a "christmas" present. usually he just buys things as the need arises after careful planning and consideration.
later on I realized that our family was in the worst financial situation ever due to the economic recession. plus I was going to college in 2009 so that was another level of stress for my parents.
maybe that year he chose to surprise me because he needed to assure himself that everything was going to be okay.
Now I make more money than he could have imagined. Gaming is still a hobby and I can afford the best hardware. My battlestation spec is in the top 0.1% except for that G5 cracked blue mouse which is still in service. I've had to change a few parts as they've degraded over the years, but everything still works.
Would be a good story but why so fake? You don't get steam passwords by resetting. At least I hope not, that would mean they store it in plain text.
And why would the dad do this silently for 15 years instead of showing off with his record at least once? Or saying hey check your steam account happy birthday.
But yeah also the thought of my dad not just telling me he likes to play a video game he knows I like for 15 years when it’s also a co op game is crazy.
My dad would sit and watch me play Gran Turismo for hours. He was a car guy and loved watching me get excited about upgrades or winning new muscle cars which some he had owned in his youth. Its been 14 years. I miss him so much.

Not even mentioning the fact that Portal 2 wasn’t even 15 years old when this was posted. Weird LARP

Wait hol up!
Do other people's dads actually care about them? I thought that was just a tv trope.
I thought a dad was someone who left when you were 2 years old then came back when you are in your 20s asking for money.
sobherk@reddit
It's the trope thing. That's how you know ops post is fake af
Mean_Introduction543@reddit
I mean wholesome sure but what is the point of writing something so obviously fake?
You’re telling me he went back through 15years of emails? Not to mention steam doesn’t just tell you the old password when you click reset password
