It’s the building of the former Yugoslav Army HQ that was hit with missiles during the NATO bombing campaign in 1999.

Initially, it was deliberately left in ruins as a kind of war memorial. But the real reason it still looks like this is that none of the governments since then have actually decided what to do with it.

Some want the original buildings restored. Others want the complex turned into a museum. Others argue for demolition and redevelopment.

The idiots in current government even wanted to give the land to Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to build a five-star hotel, in order to suck up to Trump somehow. After protests from architects, experts, and the public, thankfully he pulled out of that plan.
