Why can't this happen in the Balkans ? (not the draft the dramatics)

If men fainted doing this it would be ridiculed forever , in Thailand it's part of the act.
Gollub_56@reddit
NGL, This is an extremely foreign concept to me.
We celebrate when we go to mandatory service.
munchmills@reddit
Makes you not realize how heavily brain washed the turkish public is? Especially the people with nationalist world view.
TanVaktidir@reddit
I would say it's less brainwashing and more loyalty to the state overall. That loyalty comes from the culture of the Turks and not a particular state. Even back in the steppe Turks always prioritized the nation over their individual selves.
Thefelix01@reddit
Haha seriously? Giving up your agency and killing and dying for the whims of rich power hungry douchebags does it for some people i guess.
Mechaindisguise@reddit
Man I celebrated when I found out I was exempt lol
Existing-Network-267@reddit (OP)
My point was you had to take it like a man even if you didn't like it.
RedditAnonDude@reddit
We don’t have ladyboys
kingofsteelington@reddit
We do that here, just behind the curtain. How many richmans sons got spared the horror of war because of bogus anemia or some random pains in the knees?
syrmian_bdl@reddit
There is an old Serbian saying for that.
In war the state provides the cannons, the rich their oxen, and the poor their sons.
After the war the state gets back their cannons, the rich their oxen and the poor get the graves.
In Serbian it even rhymes a bit since the cannon, ox, son and grave are or male and in plural accusative. Topove, volove, sinove, grobove.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
My father thought me that saying, in Croatia. Might be universal in the region.
NidzoMadjija@reddit
ZlaPrezla@reddit
You really missed my point huh... we all share that history, more often than not together.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Think that ge was implying that yep, were all in the shitter till we escape
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Not really how i would interpret that meme tbh, but yeah we are still shoveling it and all over again because of foreign influences yet we bicker between us.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Ehhhh, if it was only the foreign influence id get it. I have no idea how its going over there, but here our el presidente is trying so hard to find any enemy so that he could direct the peoples anger towards him. Hed start a war tomorrow if he could. Us serbs really have a habit of choosing the worst people to lead us, weve been digging our own graves for the last 30 years...
Agile_Recipe_8422@reddit
Choosing? Not really.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Do elaborate?
Agile_Recipe_8422@reddit
We did not really have a chice, we were always cheated & deceived IMHO.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
I mean... Yeah, but we still chose to listen to the lies. Vucic was a minister under milosevic, we still voted for him.
Agile_Recipe_8422@reddit
I did not vote for him. Ever! 5 million other Serbian citizens never voted for him. That is the fact. So, no. We did not choose this. It is one big fraud, and not democracy, not legal, not fair and not justifiable.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
My two bags of weekly groceries are 150€ man... makes me wanna cry, i'd save money in germany compared to these prices.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Yeah dude, same. Most of my friends left this place, and some of them get buy food and bring it back when theyre visiting cuz its so much cheaper. Were fucked truly. The only place i know that has higher places for sure is Switzerland and.... Well...
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Same, same. We also keep voting for the same scum last 30 years. If you're one of them it's easier, if you're not... well might as well get fucked.
At least you don't have so much rich foreigners buying up everything worth money and replacing local workers with asian ones...
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Thats where youre wrong :D. The housing market exploded with the russians coming over, your normal working person can NEVER afford a normal apartment with these prices. Thank god my parents have their own places dude. And also theres a lot of asians doing the simple jobs, driving the bus, delivering food, working in the kitchens etc. And im not mad at them, theyre running from their own hell, im angry at the politicians and the business owners that bring them here because they know theyll willingly come into slavery just to escape whereever theyre coming from. There are unironically slaves, something we didnt condone in the freaking middle ages...
ZlaPrezla@reddit
No, i'm fully aware but you need to see the scale at which it happens on the coast here. House i grew up in went from 100k to 4 million € in last 20 years...
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Holly fuck, thats even worse than here... If you have that house atleast youre semi set for life no?
ZlaPrezla@reddit
... "i grew up in"... it is even worse since westerners have deeper pockets than russians, and middle eastern moguls bought everything on a larger scale.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Yeah, they earn their money/pensions and then they go to the poorer countries where their moneys worth a lot more. Again, cant blame them, can blame the politicians that dont mind screwing over their population for a quick buck. We need a swiss democracy model st this point, this shit is simply not working.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Or a democracy would be a nice start? We have the same ruling party for all but one term in our history.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Yeah, thatd also be nice... We got a reskin atleast lol
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Well... truth to be told same here. And in both of our countries it's all a reskin of KPJ
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Yep. Power hungry monsters, the lot of them. I hope well both get to live nice and fullfiling lives, as unlikely as it seems.
ZlaPrezla@reddit

Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Yeah dude, and like the snakes are also cool pets like, what more could we need? Shit, ill even bring my book collection so were set for YEARS.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Well... i do have an electronics workshop, so books and LAN parties sounds damn cool. Someone's just gonna need to drive the bike to fill pur batteries haha
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Damn, im studying electronics engineering right now lol. How bout this, we get some hamsters also so they generate some electricity, we also bring our pcs, if its not a nuclear war some solar panels, and were set for eternity fr.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
I do have a hyperactive dog... what's ur niche in electronics engineering? Or is it just electronics engineering?
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Well, that sounds like a free energy generator to me.
Im still doing the general courses, but i think ill go the analog/power electronics route, i dislike the digital abstractions lol.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Eh, that is exactly the thing i specialise in repairing. Even though digital is and has always been my hobby, it can get a bit too much to reverse engineer it, power circuits are just dumm dumm enough for consistent output. Not to even mention equipment costs differences.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Hell yeah! What did you work on digital? What kinds of systems? And what kinds of power circuits? They seem to be super fun to design with lots of parameters to take care of, just so you could increase the usability factor lol, and if i do go that route the person thatll teach me is actually a big deal in those circles. I should also bite the bullet and actually listen to a course in thermodynamics for it though, thatll be fun.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Best digital hobby thing that made me money was importing 20 broken gpus (gtx 1080ti) from china for 4$ each during the crypto boom and fixing them for a nice profit, but the last was hacking a vintage card that never existed by modding an old AGP card. I mostly focus on hacking vintage computing gear, worst part is trying to decrypt ROMs so i can actually make my hacks function properly after cracking the drivers to accept unsigned hacked parts. Truly just a hobby, for deeper dives i'd need to spit out tens or even hundreds of thousands to run spectrum analysers and such. Hence i stick to power circuits for customers, often obscure industrial parts since repair isn't worth it with todays cheap disposable devices. Rarely overhauling something so i redesign complete stages instead of parts of it that bit the dust. Amplifiers are also good and easy thing to work on.
sanguineminihedonist@reddit
Can I give you my amplifier to fix? This was such a wholesome thread, glad I read into it
sanguineminihedonist@reddit
Rarely hear what you just said about the system, I completely agree. Wish more people see that "democracy" does not work in Balkans
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Id argue its not just us, representative democracy is showing its cracks more and more worldwide. At this point its a swindler competition, wholl evaluate the market better and wholl sell himself better. Look at trump, he lied his whole campaign and sheepish people trusted him, and then he got free reign.
sanguineminihedonist@reddit
Yeah, at the end of the day they are all psychopaths just depends which level. I don't even want to talk about corruption and power that goes w/o saying
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Worry not, we have our own little dictator in making saying how life has never been better while importing almost 10% of population in foreign workforce and reinstating military service with a heaping sprinkle of discriminaton... all while we have the highest inflation in EU and median pay drifting away from average more than ever before. Would we need such armies as reaction to one another if we are not being backed by opposing foreign actors?
LarssenX@reddit
Sure buddy, whatever makes you feel better. It's so much easier to point the finger at someone else without any evidence to back it up, of course.
What's hard is admitting to our own faults and taking the responsibility for our own actions. Nobody from the outside is flaming the aggressive nationalist posture of the standard 20% of the Croatian population. As for the immigrants, say what you will, but Croatians are not willing to work the hardest and dirtiest jobs for the minimum wage. They'd rather be unemployed while scheming how to live off of the social benefits. Well guess what? Those jobs need to be done, even if seeing foreigners causes discomfort to you. Funnily enough, in my own experience it is always those unemployed dudes, not even trying to improve their standing in life, junkies and the other bottom of the society, who seem to be the loudest critics of the only sustainable policy available. The number of Croatian citizens leaving the country has dropped immensely, but it is still either on par or even slightly larger than the number of Croatian citizens returning. So what would you do as an alternative? And please don't repeat the standard, corny platitudes about "paying the workers fairly". You're sure as hell not going to get paid over a thousand euro for a frickin delivery or fruit picking job and you know it. Or you should know it. You should also know why.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Getting the boomer voters and the possibility of a war in which you make millions js a hell of a reason to start conscription unfortunately lol. Sad to see, but it is what it is. Its all going to hell.
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Yep. And with the state of the world i don't even know where would i go to not be a part of that repeating story.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Im also wondering the same thing lol. Everyone seems so angry and miserable. Hidtory truly seems to be repeating itself sadly...
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Why is it that the bad part repeats. We could've had another 60's but nope damn we repeat the 30'/40's.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
Because greedy people always seek power and wealth, and the normal ones just want to live their lives. And then when the greedy folks rule they try to squeeze as much money/power from their people as possible, not caring for the consequences. And then you get this :D
ZlaPrezla@reddit
Damn it.
Mission_Comedian5585@reddit
I genuinely hope itll get better. I mean surely it will, to quote your people, the wheel lf fortune always turns :D. I do hope well get there without bloodshed though.

Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
In Greece this happens, too. Most people get conscripted and cry in the chambers, call their mums every night and live luxuriously on the 8,62€ per month the Greek state pays us. We don't indicate the drama - we let drama consume us.
RiverNo6782@reddit
damn! and people here in croatia complained that 1200e per month was too low for mandatory military service.
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
For a country like Croatia to be able to afford world-class navies and air forces that can take down those of larger countries, financially you need massive armies of slaves... ehm sorry, conscripts, who are extremely cheap and whose only job is to a) take cover and b) return fire. This is the value the Greek Army apports its conscripts. It has nothing to do with "masculinity", "social solidarity", "national responsibility" and other such bullshit. The army needs masses of slaves who get replaced in the meat grinder. This is how I felt in the Greek Army - I saw documentaries of inmates in American prisons and I noticed the same social dynamics in the Greek Army. And nobody wants to change it because it's "our national responsibility" to conscript people. Plus it's expensive for an indebted country of 10.4 million people to field 125,000 professional soldiers. It would require a doubling of the defence budget. Plus it's not that we even get anything back - training is virtually non-existent for most conscripts. And so on. Plus the reserves are left untrained. It's no surpirse, however, because the Greek state places all its bets on the Hellenic Air Force and the Navy to win the war; the Greek Army is an expendable asset.
What your army is trying to do, thankfully, is to *attract* people in the service. And train *reservists* who will last longer in the fight. Now that is the better way. Plus if you live in barracks 1.200€ is a damn good deal. You can actually enjoy life with that and not beg your mum for money or be forced to work alongside the Army then fall asleep on sentries and get punished for it. Both are regular realities for Greek Army conscripts.
RiverNo6782@reddit
Thats lot of new information i had no idea about so thanks for write up.
Croatian mandatory service was sorta similar in the past and it had problem with a lot of conciensary objectors taking civil service instead of army service (does that happen in greece too?) in the end goverment canceled service completely some 20 years ago. Our professional army is comparatively smaller to greece, some 35k with 4m population. Considering geopolitical earthquakes in past 5 years and state of army where your youngest reservists were hitting early 40s, lack of professionals in army, and generally lack of investments in both hardware and people in last 20 years, past year or so has seen drastic shift. One of those is pretty cushy mandatory service as you said meant to attract conscripts to actually do army service and maybe even join professional army after conscription. How good training will be is still in the air but hopefully it wont be just sitting and marching around doing busy work.
antinatalistkitty@reddit
Damn that’s very decent considering food and bed is covered right ?
RiverNo6782@reddit
yeah both are covered, so its pretty nice deal for fresh out of high school 18yr olds.
BerlinDonbas@reddit
The thing with Greece is, sometimes not even that is covered.
Some people get put on islands with pretty much nothing on them and then have to ask their parents for money so they can buy food.
antinatalistkitty@reddit
That’s very fucked up. Now I understand why many young men leave Greece.
cile1977@reddit
If I recall correctly, when I was in the army in Croatia (some 30 years ago), we also received a small monthly amount - around 100 kn (13 €).
ImmediateInitiative4@reddit
That sounds very similar to Turkey. I got paid 1372₺ a month in my 6 month-long mandatory service as a sergeant (08/2025-02/2026), privates would be paid 1065₺ 🤡
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
That's 25,99€ a month for sergeants, 20,18€ for privates. Plus six month mandatory service as an NCO! Plus better equipment. I can imagine your food as well would be better, but not different from ours. I won't lie though, you were not living that much better than we were. Plus some of you guys actually deploy to combat operations.
TBH, had I not applied for reserve officer selection, I would have requested a posting on Cyprus. Greek Army soldiers on Cyprus get paid both the standard rate for Cypriot soldiers and a Greek Army wage, which meant at the time around 280€ ish for privates and 320€ ish for corporals or sergeants.
I_Run_For_Pizza@reddit
I think I got a small bump being in special forces but my friend got actually good money being part of the parachute unit. He was making over 1k a month with all expenses paid. Not bad
PhShivaudt@reddit
The food really depends on the place the regiment I was in has company was cooking for us it was alright and edible but circumstances really changes where you deployed etc navy what I heard was very chill and the most comfortable also you can pay the government here and skip 5/6 months of service and do only basic if you fit the requirements + very hefty price (erdo needs his drone collection and tax money is not enough I guess)
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
In Greece, too, you could until recently buy off the national service obligations after the age of 33, living abroad, and paying €900 per service month bought and only do basic training which lasted 25 days. Now it's after the age of 40, at 1.500€ per month of service, and 10 weeks of basic training. Also if you have depression or other disabilities that disqualify you from service you must now prove how long you have been in treatment for and pass another assessment in 5 years before the final discharge.
Mucklord1453@reddit
You euros and your "," instead of "." (decimals) as is proper for numbers...
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
Yeah, too bad I'm not British, innit? In continental Europe we use commas for decimals and either use full stops for thousandths or simply leave gaps (France, Russia, Ukraine). The Swiss actually mark them with apostrophes (like 1'000'000 CHF). Notable exception: Albania. In Albania, the UK and Ireland it's just like you muricans know it - thousandths in ",", decimals with "."
Mucklord1453@reddit
Its even worse with month and year. Fill out your birthday in Europe or North America and run the risk of getting it ass backwards. You'd think in this modern age the globe would standardize it all by now.
ImmediateInitiative4@reddit
I was in İzmir, and my particular field was civilian service, but the food was indeed amazing and plentiful. In fact I gained 10kgs in 6 months lol. The ones deployed in the east receive 4-5x more money/allowance, though, I’m unsure how much they get in Cyprus but I’d assume its still more than what I got.
Also we have something where they select “second lieutenant” candidates from draftees with a uni gradutation, I applied for it but unfortunately wasnt selected. They mostly choose amongst paramedics and engineers so my chances were slim, but I still had some :p these get paid real good like 65.000-95.000₺ or so depending on where they are deployed
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
....yeah you guys have a better organised national service system. I will say just that.
Existing-Network-267@reddit (OP)
8 euros ? 8 Maybe 80? Or 800?
Surely a typo
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
It was 8 Euros and 62 cents. That was the wage the Greek Army was paying me per month for 8 months. At the battalion it bought me 8 cups of freddo espresso a month plus a Kinder bueno - and a toilet roll cost 1€ (which we had to pay ourselves). We also had to pay for our own laundry and hygiene kits and boot shines. Now it has been increased to 50€ per month for conscripts.
antinatalistkitty@reddit
This is awful .. can you even buy a Gyros Pita with that anymore ?
MfingKing@reddit
Wdym 50 per month what the hell are they smoking down there
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
Mire se erdhe ne Greqi o vllah.
Now theoretically one could join the military as a professional soldier. However a) hiring is irregular (no professional soldiers were hired between 2008 and 2022) and b) you don't live on base if you are a professional soldier; you rent outside. If you make just under 1.000€ net a month as a soldier but rent alone is at 600€ and you have neither the opportunity to share it with others nor does the service offer accommodations (houses are being built but that will take until 2030 and there aren't enough Albanians, Bulgarians and Ukrainians to build them because they have all left for Germany) you just can't live. At this time, we have mass resignations from the Hellenic Armed Forces even among junior officers.
eugRoe@reddit
Man you are making Greece sound horrible what the hell
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
This is the real Greece they don't show in the brochures. The Greece for tourists, a minima, is better curated.
MfingKing@reddit
Makes sense they're not hiring due to cheap conscription. It allows their budget to go to air force and naval power, which is remarkably advanced. Paid for by conscripts apparently! Undecided if this is super patriotic or a scam lol
The starting pay for armies is low worldwide though, it gets so much better with higher ranks and especially overtime + missions away from home or abroad. You're never just chilling at the base
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
Yeah but Greece has a few idiosyncrasies. Combat pay and benefits are fully taxable and Greece has the same kalte Progression as Germany, albeit at lower income thresholds. A lieutenant in the Greek Army makes 1,800€ gross and gets less than 1,200 net. 200 go to tax and the rest go to social security cotisations. You then have the fact that transfers every 2 years are paid out of the serviceman's pocket. You then have the fact that most of the time you ARE chilling at base because training is expensive and remember that Greece has a huge debt overhang so the Greek state prefers to pay its soldiers peanuts (especially the conscripts) to be able to afford an air force and a navy better than most Western European countries. The system works for now but Greece has a severe demographic collapse and this will come back to bite the military eventually. Already most campaign units suffer from personnel shortages everyhwere. And do remember that the Greek military has strict age limits (23 for officers, 28 for rerseve officers, 25 for professional soldiers, 45 for conscripts). An entire generation - mine included - was locked out of the military because of the financial crisis and is now ineligible due to age limits. So to be honest the Greek military deserves its penury in personnel.
paniniconqueso2@reddit
If there's a major war involving Greece, what the hell are you guys supposed to do?
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
The entire defence doctrine of Greece is to destroy Turkey's air force (THK) and navy (TDK) as soon as possible and hold the line as much as possible and, most importantly, regain any lost territory as soon as possible, before the United States government intervenes. The US military will not fight for either side BUT POTUS will broker a peace between us. The way a peace agreement pans out will depend on which side stays stronger after the dust settles. Nobody believes that a war between Greece and Turkey will last too long - if it does, then that is where public finances and debt start playing a role and this is where our advantages start to dwindle.
Militarily, as mentioned, Greece can win wars. It's just that Greece happens to have the same attitudes Russia or Ukraine has towards its own conscripts, with the ostensible difference that Greece is a Western European country.
SaraJuno@reddit
I would blow it all on 8 toilet rolls, TP the barracks, then celebrate with a hard earned kinder bueno
giannidelgianni@reddit
My last payment in the greek military was 980 drachmas... that's like 2,90€. My dude did not stater!
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
Classic Greece - each generation of fish gets paid *less* year on year. Memoranda till the sun sets is our fate!!!
bofimar@reddit
It's not. That's the actual pay.
P-l-Staker@reddit
And this cursed amount doesn't even bother to go up with inflation! 🙄
Might as well not bother paying anything in a decade.
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
Decades ago, while we still had the Drachma, conscripts would be paid 100 Drachmas a month. When Greece entered the Eurozone in 2001 and 2002, the exchange rate was 8,62€ for these 100 drachmas. The pay stayed the same since 2002. The Greek Army would claim that "you guys cost us 850€ a month - deduct your food, healthcare, electricity, uniforms and equipment and you are left with 8,62€". But that is incorrect - the Greek state, as ever, gaslights its own citizens.
P-l-Staker@reddit
Food - cheapest slop available. Sometimes past it's due date. Nowhere near the calories required for an adult.
Healthcare - Can't fault them much here, but you've got that regardless of being in the army or not.
Uniforms - Lol...
Equipment - You undoubtedly need to do their free labour.
Accommodation - A cheap half-rotten rotten bed (oftentimes shared) in a musty room, that may or may not have a heater, shared with like 30 other people.

I live in Thailand. There is a box and there are 2 different cards colors inside, red and black. If you pull out the red, you go to the army and if you pull out the black, you don't.
Army is 2 years in this country.
Also, if you choose the army subject to attend during your secondary school and attend it for 4 years (I think), you are exempted from the draft lottery (that's how it is called - draft lottery).
Sigma-0007_Septem@reddit
Thank you for the info .
So instead of a universal draft you have a lottery IF you have not chosen the army subject?
Are there any benefits apart from not having to face the lottery , for choosing the army subject?
And are they pretending to be unable to stand to avoid the process all together?
IndependentCoast7806@reddit
Well, army classes. They wear the army uniforms and learn everything we learn about when in the regular army in Balkans but it is stretched to 3 or 4 years.
Not sure if understand your last paragraph.
Sigma-0007_Septem@reddit
Nice thank you.
Regarding the last part.
In the video most of the people subjected to lottery draft seem to be unable to stand without being held by at least 2 people.
So the question is : Are they pretending to be incapable of standing , hoping that they will somehow skip the process altogether?
IndependentCoast7806@reddit
Some are gays and some didn't plan with it. There is a documentary on YouTube where you have men that changed their sex or put breastfeeding implants but the government don't accept sex change. Try to look it up on YT. It is a sociological phenomenon.

You are right. You have those 2 - 3 extra hours in your secondary schoole that are usually on Fridays after all the regular classes are completed. It is a pain in the ass because everyone goes home and you have to stay. I was thinking in the past what I would choose and I think i would choose to attend those extra classes. 2 years is a long time in case of choosing the red card.
Fickle-Ad1363@reddit
And it’s a bad time going to the military because of conflicts I guess
IndependentCoast7806@reddit
Nah. It is always bad time because the next two years you can't find a job and start working on your career and future
crushiscrushed@reddit
I've only seen the dramatics from ladyboys who picked red but somehow the ones who don't need to conscript are fainting?? lol.
OAllosLalos@reddit
So, you either randomly waste 2 whole years of your life or you get a free pass?
I mean, wouldn't it be more fair if it was 1 mandatory year for everyone? That way you have literally the same number of people enlisted and you don't have to deal with the drama and the social resentment of those unlucky ones that enlisted towards those who happened to get a pass...
Am i missing something?
Initial_Implement934@reddit
ChatGPT says that only about 1 in 5 conscripts actually serve through the lottery system, so a mandatory one-year service for everyone isn’t necessary, as it would result in too many people being drafted.

I mean you’re Greek, so it makes sense why you would think that.

They was this dude when I served that claimed he had knee problems in order to be ruled out from carrying a rifle and then we found out that in his private life he was a semi professional parkour 'athlete'
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
EY & unarmed I/3. Elite ball knowledge. Most would go for an I/5 or an I/4 directly.
AntiKouk@reddit
Must have scrapped his knees doing all that parkour
Greek_Bodybuilder995@reddit
In case you are wondering what a Greek Army conscript gets paid looks like. This used to be my paycheck for a month.
Automatic_Leek_1354@reddit
Mcdonalds pays better than that

Isnt it because youre afraid your pps gon fall if you dont join the army or act "unmanly"?
bratorimatori@reddit
If you don't know what being a man is, consult your therapist.
Lorumba@reddit
Imagine a "man" being scared of pink, people thinking they are weak and feminine clothing.

Will your therapist tell you what you want to hear again this evening?
bratorimatori@reddit
It most definitely is, I was joking.

Sure man it was clear you were joking.

And a very funny joke indeed. I cant wake up in the morning without my cup of joe and a gender joke.

I could probably play with several hot wheels on the surface of your brain without hitting any bump
bratorimatori@reddit
What a waste of tokens that sentence is.
UnhappyAddition7281@reddit
No its a very funny way of saying that you are a smooth brain.
bratorimatori@reddit
It most definitely is. The post is meant more as a light satire and I do in joy some head bashing now and then. Works on smooth brains as well. No hard filings.

casual_philosopher02@reddit
because men need to have stories to tell us for the rest of their lives
JerzyPopieluszko@reddit
yeah my dad had plenty of stories - out of one hundred man company, three died, two to suicide, one out of exhaustion
he despises the military to this day
casual_philosopher02@reddit
yeah no, here stories usually include the terror of doing something stupid and getting punished for it, or the TERROR of cleaning the toilets
Neat_Ship1396@reddit
Until they do.
PotentialBat34@reddit
Oh man haha this brings so much memories. The punishment almost always involved toilets in my barracks somehow, we either had no toilets because we got punished or we got punished and had to clean toilets.
AssassinLJ@reddit
Most older people that went to the army or previous gen people before all say the same shit, it was an waste of time, if you didnt go Navy or Special Forces you do jack shit, a waste of time which they try to romantize with "but you gonna have memories with your comrades in there" which answer is you already have friends and family than that shit.
casual_philosopher02@reddit
yeah I get when men complain about the waste of time TOTALLY, I only make fun of the ones that act as if doing what their moms and gfs/wives do was horrible! I had to clean the Kalliopi and iron!! yes and now you are a 55 and didn't iron a shirt since🤣🤣
Eldanosse@reddit
Aren't there any heroic stories about how they got out of doing a chore and it got dumped on someone else? Or how they were out smoking when the rest had to do pushups?
Several people told me with pride how they were able to have snacks any time they want. It's a bit like being proud of reaching adulthood. 'I can have crisps any time I want! I don't even have to wait until after lunch!'
abandonedtulpa@reddit
So getting drafted in Thailand is basically gambling? That sounds even more frustrating and unfair
Rosu_Aprins@reddit
In theory the draft lottery is supposed to make it fair because everyone draws a lot and has an equal chance of being conscripted or exempted regardless of background.
In reality, some have a chance of drawing conscription or sudden pains that stop them from serving.

My father got released from military service after a couple of months. Allegedly, he had an important task in sending and recieving mors code or sth, and were very few in the unit and the commander was a big shot and got treated well, and every now and then, they would gather to eat lamp and after heavy drinking once got a surgery in the stomach. Imagine such unfortunate event being told with nostalgia. Life sucked then.
Ashen-wolf@reddit
I aint doin conscription if it's not everyone but only lads.

The gay one that got drafted took it better with a twirl compared to the fainting drama queens.

Meanwhile, Greece doesn't even have a lottery system. You go whether you like it or not.
