His dreams of a profitable company is also one he’ll never see fulfilled.

To save the company all he has to do is make the Silvia look as good as the last one. But for some reason all the jdm manufacturers refuse to make their cars as cool as they did in the 1990s. The best looking supra is from 1995. The new Z doesn't look as good as a 1998 240sx kouki and the new prelude is slower than the prelude from 1997 in sport plus mode!

What world are you on? Sales of sports cars are not going to save any company

Last year globally Porsche sold over 50,000 911 models. Ford sold over 44,000 mustangs...
There is a market if they are any good.

Builds new Silvia
It's an SUV that looks like a tumor
Please Nissan, don't follow the steps of Mirsubishi

This article is over a year old and especially pointless less than 24 hours after a major Nissan lineup announcement that does not mention the Silvia once.

Not a year old story hater. Same story and only 6 months old

Japanese car company relying on French in order to figure out how to make cars profitably. How ironic.

None of them can figure out that we just want exotic looking economy cars like they all made in the 90s.
Instead Toyota needed BMW to build their Halo car

Looks at 1990 B13 Sentra. Looks at 1990 S13 Silvia. Smiles.
Looks at current B19 Sentra. Shakes head, but glad that Silvia hasn't been massacred the same way...
yet.
Sir_Bird_Law@reddit
TIL, they're still making Sentras.
I fucking love my 240s. But I see no way in which Nissan could bring back the 240/Silvia and not fuck it up given their current/recent state.
The modern Silvia is an 86, and I'm a-okay with that.

Why dont the save themselves from bankruptcy first

im done getting my hopes up about a new Sylvia. all these retro carnames cming back and they just destroy what it originally was. the new supra is lame, the new prelude is terrible, the 300Z is still hanging in there but seriously, i'd rather they DIDN'T bring it back at all than to just throw some slop together for a quick cash grab.

Unlike the S2000 revival case, Nissan COULD theoretically amalgam some sort of compact RWD coupe out of currently existing assets (although one of those assets would be the vc turbo-4) a la Lexus RC.
Boundish91@reddit
Could probably use the Z platform as a base.
Seeker80@reddit
Nissan played around with that FM platform to get different vehicles. The G35 sedan/G37 sedan/Q50 was like the base form of the FM platform. The G35 coupe/G37 coupe/Q60 was the wide-track version. The 350Z was a short-wheelbase, wide-track version. The 370Z was even shorter, with another 6" cut from the wheelbase.
A Silvia follow-up could use the narrow body, with maybe the 350Z's length to make room for some rear seats.
Needs a good engine, though. Nissan doesn't have anything suitable. The VC-T makes decent power, but they've had reliability issues. Maybe they could use a low-displacement form of the VR, but it would be nice to just have a 4cyl.

Definitely going to be a crossover
