This is slowly turning into my favorite project I've ever done. I'm still in the early phases test fitting. how things will fit Or what I need to clearance

Personally, I'm not a fan of the LS like that. If I were going to do anything else I would sooner 2JZ swap it For power..

But that's not the goal with this build. Love the sentiment and respect the LS for what it is and what it can do But it's not my flavor

This is one of the most engineered projects I have ever tried For a personal project ... The drivetrain will actually be stronger.. I have a cd009 that bolts up perfectly to the Maxima engine.. I just need to change the upper oil pan..

Love it. Things like this speak to me moreso than projects that are about wheels and suspension, or fake patina.

The amount of energy, planning, and time it takes to fit drivetrains in things that they don't belong in is substantially underrated.

Exactly. That's kind of the cool part to me. Also with this project nobody really understands the motivation to it or why?

I own a second RX8 that I'm going to rew swap.. Yeah it's cool and all don't get me wrong.. REW, Street Port, ra classic seals, external oil mod, solid upper and lower dowel pins

But that's kind of the common style route for an RX8 This thing that I'm building takes a lot of thought and it takes a lot of understanding how each part has to work with the next versus how it has to work

And then replicating some of the chassis natural behavior by modifying adding braces and such at my shop to make this whole thing function sort of if the VQ 30 came in the RX8 from the factory..

It becomes far less about how much power can I make but how can I Make but how much can I make all of these weird oddball elements function together as if they naturally came this way

Yeah... Less power than the stock rotary. And even less room to put a turbo on it than the stock rotary.... And less hood clearance/ higher center of gravity than the rotary.... But you got pistons now!

I have a second RX8 exact same color that I'm going to REW swap.. The vq30 is going to be turbo. The engine is going to be mounted further down... Built for repeatable abuse at about 450 horse 🤔🤔

Thats sick, may i suggest getting a e36 or e46 hydraulic rack for the car. Works great and if u keep the subframe intact wisefab makes a kit for it.
