How do I get this mtx39 hub motor on my bike?

Hey, so I’ll let the video do most of the talking but pretty much I’ve been stuck trying to get the hub motor wheel in the drop downs and on the bike for the past 4 hours because everytime I tighten the bolts on the sides it becomes extremely “stiff” and hard to spin instead of being smooth and easy to spin.
If anyone needs a video of how the wheel spins when the bolts are tightened please shoot me a dm or ask for me to post the video and I will do so immediately, I just want to get my bike built and get riding asap 😭.

Are you sure the motor isn't just locking itself because the phase wires are touching each other? If phase wires touch eachother, it will "lock" your motor

In one of my recent videos I go over this exact issue (linked to the timestamp where I talk about it): https://youtu.be/ePydpu6SKOU?si=v8Z5cbxHUaIWxeZN&t=200
You essentially need a spacer or washer that presses on the axle only. Most likely your washers are pressing/clamping on the freewheel which is why your wheel will spin fine when the axle nuts are not tightened, and binding when it is tightened. 👍

Thanks a bunch, my friend ended up sorting it for me but if I was on my own I wouldn’t have got past it without you, thank you!

you see those washers with the tabs on them, they go on the axle next to the motor, with the tabs facing outwards. one on each side of the motor. before you put the wheel into the dropout. any other washers or nuts go on the outside the tabs drop into the opening in the dropout

i am not going to be much help, i mostly wanted to say that mtx39 is the model of the rim, not the motor.
i had to deal with this issue as well, but that was like 5 years ago now and i dont remember exactly, but if i remember right, the outer race of the bearing is what is making contact with your spacer and thats the problem. you need to put something in there that will not make contact with the outer race but will make contact with the inner race, i think, maybe a much lower od washer that is thick.
also, that motor is powerful, you need real torque arms, not those little torque washers, trust me that moter will snap that aluminum rear fork way too easily. you dont have to spend much, but you will need something

I really appreciate your help and thank you for letting me know. Is there any chance you’d be able to take a screenshot from the video and show me what you mean? Sorry I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed.
