Nissan just announced a new Juke, Skyline, and Xterra.
Posted by Recoil42@reddit | cars | View on Reddit | 231 comments
Only the Juke was shown fully, but there are teases for the Skyline and Xterra. Looks like the Xterra is BoF, and will probably be a twin or triplet of the new Frontier replacement due as part of the Mitsubishi partnership.
The Juke is an EV, and looks just as crazy as the first one did. I'm really digging it.
Link here, it might go dead after the live broadcast is done.
Available_Draw1435@reddit
Nissan frontier is the one Nissan I really support. Simple styling. Great powertrain. Good price point.
I had an Xterra as my first vehicle and god I want this to be a good re-release. The fact it looks like it will get the same N/A V6 gives me hope.
hermitcraftfan135@reddit
Nissan has honestly been cooking the last year or two. Rooting for em honestly
tman2damax11@reddit
New CEO cares about the brand as a whole succeeding rather than short-term profits. Who figured that would cause them to get their ass in gear and actually start making good cars again?
Car-face@reddit
This is literally the same thing Nissan did 25 years ago, from cutting costs, focusing on growth, right down to greenlighting a new Skyline.
All we need now is a quote from Espinoza saying "the Skyline has to be profitable in it's own right" and we'll be right there again.
Makaloff95@reddit
A new skyline is going to be interesting, makes me wondee if they will give it a I6 again or if it will be based on R35 V6
TurboFucked@reddit
It will probably get the same 3.0L VR30DDTT it gets now, with some upgrades. Maybe they'll bring the Hybrid over to the USA - but given the abysmal sales of the Q60, I doubt it.
norfatlantasanta@reddit
They’re definitely gonna have to upgrade it to meet emissions. I can’t see it without at least a mild hybrid.
Seeker80@reddit
What's nice is that Nissan could always give the Z/Skyline a nice bump up with the VR35 out of the SUVs.
makeyousaywhut@reddit
You’re not going to like this answer, but I think it will be based on the rogues I3
Alieges@reddit
Honestly, an i6 version of the rogues i3 might not be the worst thing in the world. Fairly efficient, good area under the curve. Even just a straight doubled rogue i3 would yield 400hp, and I'm SURE there is still some decent meat on that bone since things are usually tuned to be less raw when they're on a CVT in order to take it slightly easier on the CVT.
If length isn't too much of an issue, an extra inch could get you another 5mm between bore centers to punch out the bore to 87mm leaving an extra 2mm of meat between each cylinder for strength and gasket sealing. That should get you to 3.2L at the same stroke.
makeyousaywhut@reddit
The racing version of the rogue’s engine is still the i3 , but boosted to 400hp.
I suspect they’d just boost it tbh. Get ready for 3 cyl skylines lol
Alieges@reddit
yeah, but could they warranty it?
Vs i6, 400/450hp, and the normal GTR thing of being able to double the power if you're willing to throw cubic dollars at it.
makeyousaywhut@reddit
A) I’m pretty sure the racing version uses different materials like a stronger engine block- as the pressures are pretty insane in just the rogue.
B) I wouldn’t expect to get the full 400hp out of it. The 400z comes with 310hp. I would expect the skyline to be a Miata/ Cooper S competitor as opposed to a Nissan Z series/ muscle car competitor.
TwentyHourPharmacy@reddit
I don’t think I have ever read a more wrong comment in my life. Just about everything you said is completely false
makeyousaywhut@reddit
I don’t think you thinking is a metric anyone should be concerned with?
TwentyHourPharmacy@reddit
It is when your entire comment is false information, someone might actually read that.
makeyousaywhut@reddit
Who are you to say my comment is purely false information? How would you know more than me when we are both speculating?
TwentyHourPharmacy@reddit
Because its factual information that can be proved with 30 seconds of google searching lol.
The two engines your referencing are completely different, they share pretty much an idea, thats it.
The “400z” has 400hp not 310, thats less than the 370z.
The skyline is confirmed to be a sedan just like it has been for the last 15 years so its literally impossible for it to be a miata or mini cooper competitor, your on opposite sides of the spectrum there.
makeyousaywhut@reddit
There’s a 4d mini cooper lmao. I’m not here to argue with you, especially when you lack imagination like in such a way, and the conversation is purely speculative for all of us. You’re right about the Nissan 400z however- I don’t know why I thought it was 310hp, but in all effect it’s the same. I wouldn’t expect the skyline series to be 50k-60k a car under this CEO.
The two engines I’m referencing are not so different, they share the same architecture and concepts through and through, but one is made from higher performance materials and expected to last a whole lot less long.
Either way we will find out
onikyaaron@reddit
armada/qx80 already makes like 450hp with the really similar vr35 tho. as interesting as it sounds, nissan is not going to be r&d’ing an i6
makeyousaywhut@reddit
My argument is that the skyline will probably have just the i3 already developed, but modded somewhere in between the racing i3 and the rogue i3, not that they’d do an i6.
onikyaaron@reddit
ooo gotcha, yea i read that wrong. i’d still be surprised to see the rogue powertrain reused there. maybe for base trims. they’ve already disclosed the manual trans will be available for new q50/60 successor (likely skyline nameplate) and they’ve already got one for the VR so.
Quitetheoddone@reddit
Out of curiosity, what would you prefer? I’d think that the R35 was so good, dropping it into a new skyline despite being almost 20 yrs old isn’t a terrible idea although I can see car and driver ripping them a new one for doing exactly that.
Makaloff95@reddit
Personally i would preferer a I6 but idm getting a V6 slapped into it either
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
If GT-R goes back as top trim of Skyline, it would’ve sedan version. Anyway, it wasn’t wrong to have GT-R sedan, as Nissan made before.
SylverShadowWolve@reddit
Just fyi, 'skyline' is what they called the g35 and Q50 in Japan, so I wouldn't necessarily count on this being the new gtr
mk4_wagon@reddit
This is what I was thinking too because the press photo is clearly a 4 door.
Bassracerx@reddit
I saw somewhere that it was confirmed it will be same r35 engine with hybrid power added. I think it was autopian?
dissss0@reddit
No way it'll get a new engine.

Do you have a source on these programs being started under the latest CEO? Would be curious to read more about how he changed the product strategy.
Fiiv3s@reddit
Well I mean, the previous guy is still a fugitive on the run for embezzlement so….im willing to bet he didn’t start these programs
Thomas_633_Mk2@reddit
Ghosn stepped down in 2017 if you mean him, there's a fair few people and years in that gap.
Thorkell_The_Tall1@reddit
Didn't Ghosn kinda save the brand ? Not sure about that but pretty sure when he stepped in Nissan was in big trouble
Thomas_633_Mk2@reddit
Yeah I kinda like him. He's a corporate suit but no worse than just about anyone in Nissan, and he was unquestionably successful in his first decade at the brand. I'm not too upset about someone that wealthy facing consequences but the prosecution against him is very obviously racially/culturally biased
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
That’s right. The problem are also their Japanese CEOs, they couldn’t turn the company in right way, and one of them even had a fugitive.
Calgrei@reddit
The new body styles are awesome but they desperately need to refresh their powertrains
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Why? The powertrains are fine, actually above average if anything because theyre reliable for the most part other than the 3 cylinder.
onikyaaron@reddit
the vct paired with traditional auto kinda sucks to drive tbh, see murano and qx60. never thought i’d say this but they’re better with a cvt à la rogue and altima. something about wildly variable powerband just trips up the trans and 9 times out of 10 when you put your foot down it’s a solid 2 seconds before the car actually decides to go
Calgrei@reddit
Yeah but have you seen the price of gas recently? Also, the stop start is really annoying. A hybrid system similar to Toyota's iForce max would be nice to have.
rickhamilton620@reddit
That's likely coming - part of their electrification strategy is to do a in-house hybrid system for body on frame vehicles that's distinctly not e-Power.
L_viathan@reddit
They look very nice
Ok-Response-839@reddit
Remember when the r/cars hivemind said that Nissan would be bankrupt and cease to exist in 3 years?
I think Nissan have been putting out great cars for the last 5 years. Their trajectory reminds me a lot of what Mazda did to try and become slightly more upmarket.
JournalistExpress292@reddit
What happened to all the folks that wanted Nissan to fail? Those types of comments I inundated the subreddit up till recently. I wonder what they think now … are they disappointed to see Nissan not go under?
SamsungAppleOnePlus@reddit
Been feeling they were heading towards an upwards trend since the 2021 Rouge and 2022 Pathfinder, both really good cars coming from Nissan’s pretty lackluster lineup at the time, in the US but also as a whole. Now their lineup is a lot stronger.
Djaii@reddit
The Rogue is pretty good too, but it doesn’t come in red
/s
Life_Menu_4094@reddit
Honestly, Nissan has a better shot at surviving than Honda, at this point. At least they've got a plan.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Last like 4 years actually, theyre getting their shit together and finally are selling cars worth buying over others. I been telling yall to not sleep on Nissan, all it took was seeing the darkness of bankruptcy to end up here
Recoil42@reddit (OP)
Super underrated. I've been loving the new design languages.
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
New Rogue looks better than the Rav 4
Shitadviceguy@reddit
As someone who absolutely loves the ePower driving experience, I can see why they delayed in the US. Those long fast highways are no place for that hybrid setup, it needs the regen to keep that EV boost strong.
I hope the Gen 4 will address this, I feel a 50% bigger battery, or upping the reserve battery level would fix this. At highway range in the US, it won't get anywhere near the economy of the Rav. Sure it will be much faster off the line, and likely that the AWD system is better off road, but when people are looking to economy only, this won't be the winner.
jamieylh@reddit
Toyota has really perfected the hybrid system. I don’t really get why companies like Nissan and Honda insist on reinventing the wheel resulting in having the worse parts of both worlds.
Shitadviceguy@reddit
Because Toyotas system is slow AF.
niftyjack@reddit
It's not regen that's the problem, it's the fundamental inefficiency of a pure gas-electric hybrid at high speeds versus some sort of direct connection between the engine and the wheels. Honda's hybrid system is functinoally the same as ePower but it has a single speed (or double, in the CR-V) direct drive for higher speed driving where it's more efficient to directly connect combustion to the wheels without energy loss converting it to electricity first. The General Motors PHEV setup did the same thing in the Chevy Volt/Vauxhall Ampera/Cadillac ELR.
Shitadviceguy@reddit
I would have expected better efficiency out of the Honda system because of that, but based on reviews it seems to equal the ePower setup on highway and worse in city.
Not sure what the acceptance is like for the Honda drivetrain in the US, but it's neither fast nor frugal based on international reviews.
rickhamilton620@reddit
People seem to like the Honda system - to be fair, for Accord and CR-V, you're locked into getting the hybrid system if you want a mid-trim or higher model which a lot of people do.
kqlx@reddit
damn, no silvia
TwentyHourPharmacy@reddit
This is the age of corporate greed and enshittification. They wouldn’t dare make multiple sports car models when they can just milk the consumers with the shitbox daily drivers they try to call automobiles
ruffneck119@reddit
We need a new Q50. Best mid car ever.
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
Man, the new Juke has more crazy intersecting body lines than the current Elantra and Tucson. I didn't know that was possible. Hyundai calls that design language "parametric dynamics". I guess it kinda works, and it's clearly funky as hell. It's just a bit....odd.
jamieylh@reddit
Looks similar to the new global variant of C-HR
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
Yeah, you're right. Nissan's definitely cribbed its style from the C-HR for sure. They took the C-HR's hard angle lines on the front door and the two-tone blacked out rear and turned it up to 11.
MotelSans17@reddit
I'll always root for an EV that has hard angles instead of looking like a stick of melted butter. They all look the fucking same.
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
Ehh, they don't all look the same, but many do. I think Cadillac's EV lineup looks quite good, while using a lot of hard angles. None of them look like a stick of melted butter. The Kia EV9 also comes to mind with lots of hard angles.
MotelSans17@reddit
Yes Cadillac does better. But the Equinox... Ughhh. Although Chevy has been about the smashed Whippet cookie for a while now (non-Canadians might not get this reference...)
I myself have a bZ4X, and appreciate that it has some angles. It's ugly to some, but I like it.
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
I'm not a fan of Chevy's EV's. They don't look good to me. Yeah, as an American, I had to google that.
Not really a fan of the bZ4x's looks, but the 2026 bZ refresh makes it look a little better. I do like the way the new 2027 Highlander looks though.
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
We're getting it as a new Q50. I believe its already been shown to dealers behind closed doors.
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
Sounds good. Just think it would be cooler to get it as a Nissan, as god intended.
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
I wished they would do what Chevy did with SS and let your order it with different badging

mantenner@reddit
"AI Defined Vehicles"
Excuse me, what?
Recoil42@reddit (OP)
Eh, it's basically what everyone else is doing, frankly. Just SDV + ML.
hutacars@reddit
SDV has nothing to do with AI, and outside of maybe whatever self-driving features they may include, what in the world are they using ML for? Specifically, what is the value add for me as a customer to the point it’s worth reiterating multiple times throughout a press release (albeit using two different, less accurate letters)?
Recoil42@reddit (OP)
SDV has quite a bit to do with AI. Everything from chassis control to battery management to predictive maintenance can (and in many cases already does) run on big-data derived statistical models.
hutacars@reddit
That’s still independent of the vehicle being software defined though. Each part can do that independently, and it’s still not AI. This is just “every algorithm is AI now,” bordering on “AI is when a computer does stuff.” If a part fails or is close to failure, it’ll throw a fault code, same as it always did. Maybe, maybe it’ll be better able to state the nature of the failure, but even if so, that’s hardly worth stating repeatedly using incorrect terminology in a press release.
Recoil42@reddit (OP)
Not at all. I think you have some researching to do on SDV and the 'why' of it all – it sounds like you're underestimating the scope of the transition, which is frankly not uncommon when SDV comes up in conversation. I've seen it quite a bit on here.
munche@reddit
It's the same reason every other company puts AI in all the press releases
It makes investors happy and Stock Go Up
hutacars@reddit
I know. I’m calling them out on it.
jawknee530i@reddit
ML is used a ton in the design of individual parts. Think suspension components where they can iterate to give the most strength for the least amount of material.
hutacars@reddit
Not anything the customer cares about; certainly nothing worthy of repeatedly stating in a press release.
Alternative_Ear5542@reddit
It's 2026. Everything is AI because it keeps the shareholders happy. Throw an "AI-enabled fridge" in the breakroom, throw "AI-forward" on your shareholder report, get back to work.
ggtsu_00@reddit
They vibe coded the vehicle design
CuddleTeamCatboy@reddit
That’s mostly referring to the new version of ProPilot, they’re making a version that can do hands-off driving in urban environments.
Recoil42@reddit (OP)
It's more than that, they're talking about using things like ML based diagnostics to detect problems early and extend component life, which is what basically the whole industry is doing right now.
Anchor_Aways@reddit
Self-driving, systems that detect potholes and adjust suspension as needed, asking your car where the nearest McDonalds is.
banned_from_r_cars@reddit
Stock is more valuable if you claim AI is involved.
Rivian recently had a full on press day devoted to "AI".
peakdecline@reddit
I'm rooting for the new Xterra and Frontier. If they do it right they could finally get the sales to match the praise they get in these parts.
BayLAGOON@reddit
Mitsubishi has a chance to do the funniest thing and revive the Montero/Pajero nameplate. They could take a page out of the Bronco playbook and retro style it to boot.
imnoherox@reddit
This would be a truly wonderful thing. Oof. I’m rooting for Mitsubishi to keep building momentum as they have the past few years. If they start becoming a somewhat big player (or even just medium sized player lol), who knows, maybe we see them pump out some fun stuff again?
captainnowalk@reddit
The Outlander looks to be a pretty good one all-around, I’m surprised to not see it pushed much. A Rogue with a more reliable engine (from what I’ve heard), better AWD, better warranty, and a PHEV option… The only downsides I’ve heard are that it doesn’t have a ton of pep, and it’s “not thrilling to drive”, which is understandable, but I think low on the list of a lot of car buyers’ priority lists.
imnoherox@reddit
They’re awesome!! Over the past couple of years I’ve suggested it to a cousin, 2 friends, and my mom in law.
My cousin got a used ‘22 and loves it. One friend got a leftover new ‘23 and loves it.
My mom in law loved it, was gonna buy a used one, but the dealer tried some sketchy stuff at the last minute so we bailed. We were looking for another one when a ‘21 Rogue Platinum kinda fell into her lap for a steal. That was the last year of the solid engine, so I told her to go for it.
The other friend got a ‘21 cx-5. She liked the Outlander, but looooved the cx-5 as soon as she tried it out. Can’t go wrong either way imo!
captainnowalk@reddit
I’ve only known a few folks with them, and their opinion ranged from “love it” to “it’s fine”. Nobody’s seemed to have had any major issues that weren’t resolved pretty quickly or anything by the warranty. It’s definitely one I wouldn’t count out in my search.
captainnowalk@reddit
Looks like the Montero/Pajero gonna be based on the Armada/Patrol, I’m guessing with a Mitsubishi engine, and maybe suspension/4wd system? Who knows, they haven’t given much detail beyond that they’re working on it that I’ve seen.
peakdecline@reddit
A new Pajero is coming and there's plenty of photos of the test mule out there.
roman_maverik@reddit
I really, really want them to bring the 6MT back to both the Xterra and frontier.
It's not like they can't do it, because it's a modified version of the current Z transmission paired to a VQ engine.
The pro4x 6MT trims of the Xterra and d40 frontier were a big reason why it was successful over their competitors
evosthunder@reddit
"Enthusiasts" not knowing the Skyline and Infiniti G/Q50/Q50 are the same vehicles.
Elvem@reddit
Allegedly the Skyline is just for Japan, before anyone gets excited.
yootapo@reddit
Yeah but it’s gonna be the next gen Q50 here in USA
Elvem@reddit
I guess at least it’s not another SUV or crossover, but still disappointing.
nukelauncher95@reddit
Why? They're probably going to be identical cars like they always have been. The Skyline has been sold pretty much unmodified in the USA since 2002. It's just a different badge.
tman2damax11@reddit
Being sold under a luxury brand allows them to price it higher. Also, the Infiniti styling isn't for everyone; the Nissan styling is more subdued.
hamburglar27@reddit
Current generation (V37) Japanese Market Nissan Skyline and US Market Infiniti Q50 are almost identical in terms of styling. Pretty much a grille and badge swap.
No reason to think the upcoming generation won't continue that pattern.
tman2damax11@reddit
Not necessarily true for newer models. Examples:
Previous gen Pathfinder exterior / interior vs QX60 exterior / interior
Current gen Pathfinder exterior / interior vs QX60 exterior / interior
Infiniti models used to be near identical to the Nissan models that shared the same platforms. Same exterior dimensions, same interior layout, etc. In the newer generation, they've really differentiated the models despite still platform sharing.
hamburglar27@reddit
I think it will be different in the case of Skyline/Q50. The main reason being is that unlike the Pathfinder/QX60, the Skyline and Q50 don't co-exist in the same markets.
The current generation QX60 is clearly positioned as a more upscale and luxurious version of the mass-market Pathfinder, as is shown by its significantly more expensive price tag in the US where both are sold. The Skyline is already an expensive and premium sports sedan in markets where it is sold, such as Japan. It is already premium enough as-is to sell as an Infiniti, so they simply rebadge it in markets like the US where they feel selling it under their mass-market brand Nissan would devalue it.
Brno_Mrmi@reddit
I think both look amazing
GREAT_SALAD@reddit
The Infiniti’s grill looks pinched on the corners or something. Just not a fan of the angles, Nissan version is cleaner
euvnairb@reddit
First time thinking the USDM version looks better than the JDM one. That skyline grill does not look good.
Capri280@reddit
Nissan's gaudy chrome garland is a detriment to the looks of the entire Nissan lineup. It's also a relatively new change to the Skyline, This generation used to look identical to the Q50 and even kept the Infiniti badge.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
Different customer view was reason why Nissan dropped Infiniti badge in Japan. Q50/V36 used to have Infiniti badge in Japan.
KSoMA@reddit
I've seen the current Skyline in person, it looks almost literally the same as the Q50 with a different badge.
PlatinumElement@reddit
Some years of the most recent Skyline even have the Infiniti badge.
the_old_coday182@reddit
I kind of get it. “I own a Skyline” hits different than “I own what is effectively the same car for the U.S. market.” It would just be cool to have the continuation of that nameplate with the actual nameplate. One of those pointless things that doesn’t affect the utility, performance, or value standpoint.
They could probably even keep the Infiniti badge but change the model back to Skyline and it would be kinda cool
TerrainRecords@reddit
Infiniti Skyline goes hard
MumpsyDaisy@reddit
Honestly they should just call it that, calling it the "Qwhatever" doesn't have the same cachet as "Skyline". Even if it's not a nameplate that's been sold here there's at least a subset of people who know it from games, movies, tv. Alphanumeric names mean nothing to anybody.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
There was Skyline Crossover in before, that was exactly EX/QX50 in Japan name.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
You are aware the Q50 is a Skyline right? Theyre the same car with different badges
EODTech87@reddit
They’re basically the exact same other than badging. The 2014-2018 Skyline even used the Infinity logo before switching back to a Nissan logo. The Skyline hasn’t even been offered as a Coupe since 2016 while you can still get an Infinity Q60(Coupe version of the Q50) in the US.
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
Rebadge it then
lazarus870@reddit
Why is it that North America never gets the Skyline name?
leedle1234@reddit
Same reason we didn't get the Soarer or Celsior name, it was sold here under a different brand so got a jumbled letter+number names because Americans can't handle nouns anymore for luxury cars.
XSC@reddit
You know how many they would sell in the US just for the name alone? Missed opportunity
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Yeah as a skyline, in the US we will get it as an infiniti, whether they bring back the G or Q i have no clue, but we will get it as one of the two
AbXcape@reddit

1988rx7T2@reddit
The company is in structural decline, with decreasing market share in the USA and China. Failing variable compression engines just contribute to the unreliable car reputation, and the aggressive sales tactics with dealers are somewhat back.
There’s just no evidence of a turnaround in real life, just promises and closed manufacturing sites.

I'm going to tell y'all right now what this will be.
Look at the new Z (RZ34)
It's a 370Z full of nostalgia with a retro bodykit and a RedSport motor swap - this isn't a *bad* thing.
This new Skyline is the same thing, It's a Q50 full of nostalgia with a retro body kit (I can see the trunk's hardlines from here!!!) it'll have the Z's "VR30 v2" and a stick - again, not a bad thing.
And yes, this is going to be the new Q50 here in North America.
RiftHunter4@reddit
I assume this will be brought to the US as an Infiniti.
I'm honestly hoping they revamp Infiniti to actually have an identity because right now, it's literally "Nissan in a suit". IMO the design language also feels a bit dated.
Lower_Kick268@reddit
Have you seen the new Infiniti models? They look just as modern as any of the German car companies, look at the new QX80

Spiritual-Dog160@reddit
I actually love the interior of both the QX60 and QX80, and more than some of the German rivals (I’ve never driven them though), but I’ve heard the driving experience falls flat still (again, never driven one myself).

Right below that, the press release mentions an Infiniti getting a "performance-oriented V6 sedan." So the current Q60 is probably getting the same upgrades.

Possibly, but I won't be one of them. I didn't even directly say it's bad in any objective sense: I just personally dislike it (I already think the two Hyundai's are far too busy). The first two Juke generations were generally disliked and sold like hotcakes though, clearly some buyers were/are into them.
ggtsu_00@reddit
The LODs didn't finish loading before it hit the factory for production.
_galaga_@reddit
I don’t mind the low-poly look and I think the sides are better executed than say the BMW 2 series front/back ends which are also low-poly but too blocky for me.
Thomas_633_Mk2@reddit
I dislike it on just about any car, it seems busy for the sake of busyness.
hutacars@reddit
Can we just stop, please? Please?!
DooceBigalo@reddit
AI drive, AI led.. bla bla....
Limesmack91@reddit
It already says the skyline is for Japan, so don't get your hopes up, it's unlikely to come to Europe or north America
MehFrosty@reddit
Is Nissan good again?
bscrew@reddit
nope! never was either but they try.
CutsLikeABuffalo333@reddit
They better not of put the skyline name on an SUV or Nissan fans are gonna riot
mulvda@reddit
That Juke is giving some Toyota RSC concept vibes
Knightmare1688@reddit
I miss the Maxima.
Vhozite@reddit
Skyline teaser on YouTube - for those like me who didn’t feel like searching that whole press release
fissionmoment@reddit
Juke is neat. Idk what it is about the design but I feel like I can visualize it way better on a European street then American.
LegendaryOutlaw@reddit
He said in the presentation that the Juke is for Europe. Boo, i'd like to see that in the US.
Intel_Oil@reddit
We don't want Nissans over here. They can F right off with their pricing. The Ariya costs 70k for a subpar EV and the Micra is a rebadged Renault 5 with a 50% price increase.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
You wouldn’t like it after you’ve looked its rear cabin design.
DeviceAcceptable6705@reddit
looks trash imo
Elderbrute@reddit
Gotta lead with the skyline, I read Juke and nearly fell asleep.
M4roon@reddit
hmm.. I don't have any faith that the new skyline is going to be everything we want it to be. I personally really disliked the new Z. But damn do I want a Nissan cinderella story deep down. Toyota's been carrying the Japanese sports car on it's shoulders.
HirsuteHacker@reddit
More dogshit SUVs and crossovers. Joy.
PlatinumElement@reddit
They announced a V6 sports sedan for Infiniti, which for the past 23 years has been a rebadged Skyline.
georovereng@reddit
It says in the press release that the Skyline is Japan only
RooeeZe@reddit
the new skyline looks to be paying homage to alot of peoples favorite bodystyle.
bcoin_nz@reddit
that skyline better not be an EV SUV lol
OldKentRoad29@reddit
It isn't you dolt.
euvnairb@reddit
I haven’t been keeping up with Nissan lately, but are they still producing their craptastic CVT?
I used to think Japan had a “big 3” manufactures that included Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. Nissan fell off that list for past couple generations, but I’m rooting for them to make a comeback.
rickhamilton620@reddit
CVT is still around but only in the small to mid-size cars, and they have said that their latest CVT used in Rogue and Sentra is far more reliable. The Pathfinder and Murano switched to using a conventional ZF 9 speed gearbox and of course the Z and trucks don't have CVT's.
Spidahpig@reddit
Nissan/infiniti was one of the first to release steer by wire. The whole car community flipped on them and caused so much ruckus’s that Infiniti decided to do both steer by wire and actually physical steering. Now every company is doing steer by wire and it’s omg so nice nicey for them.
rickhamilton620@reddit
To be fair, people flipped on them because Direct Adaptive Steering had terrible feel, esp in a time where a surprising number of cars still had hydraulic steering racks, and esp because Q50's without DAS retained a great feeling tiller.
Silver_Branch3034@reddit
There ain’t no way the Juke is a real vehicle I will be seeing on the road in the near-future….
That aside I’ve pretty much forgotten about Nissan for years now, really hoping they can make a strong comeback, my family loved them in the early 00’s. And of course, there is the skyline/infinity mystery car I’m keen to find out more about. Rooting for them.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
No body would even miss it… The reason isn’t just about its crossover character, the model its cabin size is totally a joke almost same like its nameplate.
Not particular and not really fun to drive, I don’t get why Nissan and Toyota made this thing.
AMLRoss@reddit
Finally some decent EVs from Japan. Took them long enough.
bigboss1999x@reddit
I hope the Mitsubishi partnership results in a 4 banger that can go into a shared platform to rival the BRZ/86
Recoil42@reddit (OP)
Bring back the Evo.
mattelmore@reddit
Skyline might be cool but I will never get excited about EVs and SUVs. Gag.
man__i__love__frogs@reddit
The rims on that Rogue are sick.
RKRagan@reddit
That Juke looks like it has the outward visibility of a Camaro.
idrift4wd@reddit
Concept cars use to used so much in the 90s and 2000s. Feel like we don’t see as many now. How boring
testthrowawayzz@reddit
Rogue looks very nice, but still needs the rear photos before I make a final opinion.
Juke has a nice green color. Kind of looks like 3D graphics that hasn't finish rendering yet. Too bad about the flush door handles in the front.
virus_apparatus@reddit
I feel like the juke just got a facelift. Honestly looks 10000% better each time I look so I’m kinda liking how Nissan is looking atm. And less stories about exploding dud cars
Additional-Gur-7255@reddit
When’s the possible release for the X Terra
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
Car and Driver says late 2028. So about a year and a half from now.
waybeluga@reddit
Nissan just took the "Most Triangles" crown away from Hyundai with the new Juke!
B00marangTrotter@reddit
That juke looks like it was designed by a guy with only a ruler to work with. 📏
Does it even show up on radar?
And what the point of those skyline photos, seriously, annoyed.
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
To let people know there's a new one coming, and to gain interest?
Significant-Pen-6049@reddit
Rented a juke when first came out. Small but damn that was easy to park in the large city I was in.
If they made a manual version it would get some likes
B00marangTrotter@reddit
You've heard of punch buggy?
How about Juke Jab? 👉🏻

Eyyyy 👈
ohnosevyn@reddit
I just want a Titan and Titan HD come on Nissan :D
soopastar@reddit
I love the Juke. I am hopeful on the skyline
Roid-a-holic_ReX@reddit
Sick. I can’t wait to get the Juke I always wanted. I test drove a turbo model when I was like 21 and really liked it and for some reason instead of buying a nice new reliable car I got a few years old wrx blew the engine paid to repair it and then sold it. Oh to be young and dumb again.
redditissocoolyoyo@reddit
Wow looks awesome.
2006pontiacvibe@reddit
That juke is cool but I doubtthe US would get it. I'm very hyped about the XTerra
SchrodingerHat@reddit
Could they make the windows on the Juke any smaller? Just remove them at this point.
DDz1818@reddit
Are you saying finally Nissan is not criminal's car anymore?
peaked-at-7@reddit
This your reminder that a Nissan Skyline (JDM) is an Infiniti Q50 (USDM)
SamsungAppleOnePlus@reddit
Cool we live in a world where the Nissan Kicks and Juke both look good now
Eggith@reddit
It's clear the Juke's inspiration was a crumpled up piece of paper. It looks miles better than the last gen ~~puke~~ Juke
Scazitar@reddit
I mean their getting the message out there ,"hey we're trying to make good cars now".
Which as someone who's first two cars back in the day were 90-2000s Nissan products, I'm rooting for them lol. Make something i actually want to buy!
Blackraider700@reddit
Can I option the Juke with the factory light weight package? (missing rear bumper, paper plates, 16in steelies)
BeerorCoffee@reddit
They said Juke, not Altima.
RBJ_09@reddit
Love the look of that Juke. Wouldn’t buy one but happy to see a car marker having fun with a design.
aclezotte@reddit
how are you supposed to see out of the back of that juke??
ZaheerAlGhul@reddit
We're so fucking back!!!
Infamous_Tonight4271@reddit
Nissan always had bolder designs than Honda and Toyota. I owned a 1st gen Juke because I loved its looks, and I dig the new one as well.
Insomniax187@reddit
I might be in the minority but I'd take the Frontier Pro and Elgrand before the Xterra. And I loved my '08 Xterra.
Recoil42@reddit (OP)
Frontier Pro looks great, but it's a LATAM/ASEAN model so it's probably a lot more rickety than most people here would like.
Insomniax187@reddit
Oh, no doubt. It's almost guaranteed at that price point. Still, I wish they'd look at its popularity and see the open niche in the NA market and bring something PHEV truck, even if not that specific model.
JGRACEFAN95@reddit
Gotta say I like where they are headed. The rogue looks like a competitive product against the rav4, the juke is weird and funky but if priced competitively could be a hit in metro areas where people are looking for small evs. The xterra looks properly beefy and hopefully takes the fight to the honestly mediocre 4Runner. If they bring the skyline stateside it could honestly be a decent success if the styling is good and offers good performance for the dollar.
Oo__II__oO@reddit
I want to know more about that PHEV truck.
