I reported a place today for having too much trash and junk in the way for me to safely maneuver around the docks 🤷🏽‍♂️
OTR 10 years. Far from a skill issue. I have delivered and maneuvered in some of the tightest places from downtown Boston to NOLA to Chicago and Philly
But today was just unacceptable. There was so much BS in the way I literally couldn’t even turn around to set up a backing without damaging my equipment damaging theirs.
The only solution was getting out and physically moving everything out the way I could myself(some stuff was pallets that I couldn’t move)
This took about 1 hour total as it was so much sht.
Yep. Reported. IDGAF. If I don’t make other ppls jobs harder they have no business making mines harder

Some Uhaul locations are the same instead of trash they got a million vans and small trailers every where
OptimusShepherd@reddit
Go on a 2 week backpacking trip through Liberia. When you come back, you will appreciate things. So much more. Basically, if it doesn't directly considering you, you will just shut the f** up about it because you will realize that there are real problems out there. And if anything is a matter of principle, then your life is way too sheltered and easy. In the world of survival, there's no time for principles. So tuck your pussy lips in and don't stare at the garbage like a fuckin rerrd, if it bothers you so much

Van problems. Tanker tanker life
Flyguytruckguy@reddit
I ran dedicated for 22 years for "Bath-fitter". Some of the docks would have crap everywhere and broken cast iron tubs that cut sidewalls. When I would complain, they would tell me the regular guy doesn't have a problem". Oh? I am the regular guy Skippy!
MastrChang@reddit
Pella in Tampa?
AcanthocephalaNew791@reddit
Lmfao. No that's a Millis problem.
MastrChang@reddit
Haven’t seen you for a while?
AcanthocephalaNew791@reddit
I turned that truck in almost a year ago. I drive for Blackhawk now after the terrible experience with Schneider.
MastrChang@reddit
How’s that going?
AcanthocephalaNew791@reddit
So far so good. I get left alone. Fuel at any loves, none of that fuel stop bs. Pay is good. Biggest issue no scale bypass.
MastrChang@reddit
What kinds of trucks and what speed limit?
AcanthocephalaNew791@reddit
They have everything but mack and Volvo from what I've seen. Mostly international. They all are at 65-66. One day online orientation. I was offered a 75 dedicated dryvan route.
Vanstrucker2222@reddit
At my company we have a setting on our tablets to report the customer immediately if any issues. They would rather us advert the load than to damage or hurt ourselves.
papisilla@reddit
Reported to who? 9/10 times these places just won't care
lake_june@reddit (OP)
It was a major chain store location just in their dock area(Home Depot ) so I emailed store manager and will Keep escalating it off principle
Mystery_Chaser@reddit
Good for you.
genocyde26008219@reddit
“If this isn’t corrected with a quickness, not only will I post about it online, but I will also switch to Lowe’s and will only shop there moving forward.”
Automatic_Spirit_225@reddit
The moment I read "major chain store" I already knew it was home depot. Some of their locations just have shit everywhere.
EntireRace8780@reddit
Most of the Home Depot stores I got to are actually fairly clean and organized. The Lowe’s are the ones that are a huge mess in my area.
CrashingTiger@reddit
same. Especially this time of year. Stacks of mulch, dirt and bricks everywhere. I've never ran across one that i couldn't get into though.
Automatic_Spirit_225@reddit
I recently went to 11 in a row, I had to turn around in the dock area of target next door or there was 0% chance I was getting in.
turtlepowr89@reddit
I did the same exact thing with Home Depot years ago. Cardboard bales just placed wherever they felt like dumping them, aka exactly where a truck would need to maneuver. Critical thinking is hella lacking nowadays
Big-Permission1243@reddit
Man. I only deliver Red Bull to Home Depot in a 37’ trailer every month or so, but fuck when I gotta pull all the way into another stores dock nose first and then back my ass through a maze of mulch and dirt just to hit their dock, fuck them.
And half my job is backing into tight spots all day so I can do it just fine but there’s no fucking reason for it.
dbxbeat@reddit
The one in Bellevue tn has you circle in the front lot, and then blind back through construction around the shopping center, then continue backing 1000 yards or so to the one dock they use. Bonus is you can't see if the dock is empty unless you get out before you start backing and walk around the building. Fuck that.
MarmotWorldOrder@reddit
I spent about 10 minutes in the rain at one in Montana that had a shit ton of stuff everywhere right in front of the docks.
waveyvibez22@reddit
Delivered to a Lowe’s one time where they had put drywall(covered by a tarp) outside, along the curb, in a turn to get around their building. It was literally ridiculous. No space to back up cause another truck was behind me to get unloaded. Ended up scraping the drywall and my front bumper trying to get out of that mess. The number of times I got out to look was insane. I complained to the manager and they said it was fine that the product was probably damaged anyways. they don’t fucking care. It’ll have to be reported to higher ups in the company to actually get it fixed. Shit you’ll sit at the receiving door, ringing, for an hour trying to deliver. These places KNOW that they aren’t supposed to have product spread everywhere. Especially blocking the flow of traffic even for emergency personnel. These stores get written up by their district managers for doing this, which decreases the store managers pay. Store managers will hammer down on associates but they’re overworked, under staffed, and under paid they don’t care.
scottiethegoonie@reddit
There is a Home Depot in Northern CA (Thornton?) where ALL of the loads are literally TRASH. The trailers are stuffed with cardboard and it all bursts out when you open the doors. The lot was cared for in the same manner, piles of trash and pallets blocking everything.
That was the worst HD I've ever seen. Most of them are organized and clean.
Mindes13@reddit
I've done a few dedicated deliveries for home Depot and that's about past due the course with then
Real_Gift2774@reddit
LOL! I thought same thing! Hated delivering to Home Depot. Shit falling outta the back of the trailer when I open door, shit all around the approach to dock, shit on the dock. Ridiculous! Kudos for called em out.
Darflin@reddit
Fuck dome hepot
UhOhAllWillyNilly@reddit
I call it the Homeless Depot but that might be insensitive
Nero-Danteson@reddit
To the homeless? Absolutely
Ninja-Storyteller@reddit
The good news is that Home Depot WILL care, slowly. So at least you're not screaming into he void completely.Â
daemonescanem@reddit
They care when you say load cant be delivered..
I'll say something Idgaf either.
Whether its retarded contractors just being in the way or what ever.
I gotta give credit to my company. They back us up if we say its unsafe, and they have zero qualms about telling customer to solve the issue or the load is being sent back to yard on customers dime.

Why would super truckers get mad? This is super trucker behavior. I guarantee you can go “super Karen” all you want. Nothing will change it. They’ll just see you as another trucker complaining, lol. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but outside the profession, but still within the industry, truckers are seen as whiny, filthy, temperamental baby savages.
Silent-Room-4987@reddit
Report to who exactly?
Wide-Engineering-396@reddit
A real super trucker just leaves
Relic5000@reddit
Take a picture first, and send it to dispatch, gotta cover your ass in case the receiver is a prick about it.
Vast-Yak-8713@reddit
Good. Proud of you. You’re sticking up for all of us.
Pakman____@reddit
I don't blame ya one bit. I used to just tell my boss and let him tell the reciever. I would just shoot my boss a picture message to let him know sooner or later your gonna be paying for new tires because there was so much wood debris and nails in the docks that I was backing into. He would usually just tell me to back in and do what I need to do. Eventually the docks got cleaned. It is what it is. Not my tires not my dock not my problem.
PGMHN@reddit
There was a Home Depot near Denver that was pretty bad, it took me an hour to blind side seesaw my way around bags of fertilizer, busted pallets, and potted plants
Real_Gift2774@reddit
Was that Aurora??
PGMHN@reddit
Nope, it was north of Denver off of 25 somewhere. All I remember was how shitty the docks were set up and the drug addicts dancing around my truck (which offered an added layer of challenge)
Initial-Relation-696@reddit
Pepsi owensboro a dump. Middle of summer, previously frozen expanded cans at bottom of driveway. Dirty warehouse and crates piled anywhere. Dimp.
random02991@reddit
You're describing all of Owensboro tbh. Stuck here till my flight out tomorrow unfortunately
fastnsx21@reddit
Which Home Depot?
lake_june@reddit (OP)
Somewhere in Atlanta
Nero-Danteson@reddit
IK exactly which store you're meaning. Constant issue with the dedicated guys so they send it to the company yard and let an OTR driver pick it up (sometimes they'll have a daycab run it). They called and complained about me blocking their baby flatbed. I had already taken pictures of the location and zipped them to safety & my DL. One of the non-manager operators doesn't mind moving the stuff out of our way though if he still works there.
CaseyJones37@reddit
Man I already did I can't stand Atlanta drivers as a whole. Yet another reason not to go to Atlanta.
homucifer666@reddit
I mean, that's fucked, but where do super truckers fit into this? Sounds like the shipper/receiver was the problem and yeah I would have reported that shit too.
citizen_star96@reddit
I think OP means the macho, “A real trucker could fit into any dock without any issue” type of super trucker who would demean OP for not being able to fit into the dock.
TehFlip@reddit
Cuz he's makin the super truckers look bad? That's my take
azziptac@reddit
Bro. You made all this effort to post this? But you still went & reversed? And you did the work of moving the junk for them? Hahaha what a jabroni.
If the place was as bad as you say. I ain't lifting a finger. I tell THEM to move everything or that sh!t don't get delivered.
Sea_Bluebird_1949@reddit
Why did I read the title as “super fuckers”?
nicerakk@reddit
Why are you reporting it to home depot?
You should have told dispatch you're not going to tear up equipment to make delivery. That's how you escalate it. What load is so important to make that you personally get out and spend an hour doing their job? Sounds like you haven't learned that lesson in your 10 years experience. Let dispatch contact bookers next time. If your company don't take your side you should find another job.
GandalfTheSleigh@reddit
As you should.
