Oh my god.
My parents had a tape "The Best of Mr. Bill"
I did not understand it, I have a feeling I need to go back and watch some. Probably hits different at 40 than 10.
krose1990@reddit
Whoa memory unlocked

There's a dog toy of Mr. Bill. When the dog bites down on the toy, it says, "Oh nooooo!" I trained my dog so that if I say, "Where is Mr. Bill?" she will go looking for him. I know she's found him when I hear, "Oh nooooo!" from across the house.
Smolshy@reddit
My dog (RIP) knew that command too and had a Mr. Bill. Every time he went off we were laughing so hard. I still have Mr. Bill’s torn up carcass somewhere. He’s also at peace (same look on his face though 😮)
Milkweedhugger@reddit
Our Mr Bill dog toy has seen better days. I’ve had to cut him open twice to replace the batteries.
PantherBrewery@reddit
I have given out about 8 of these toys, not for their pets either. Love them.
Fishboney@reddit
When I saw that dog toy at the hardware store I bought it immediately. My dog loved it!
trailrun1980@reddit
Meanwhile I had a dog who LOVED the toy but was scared of the voice 😂

This is the cutest fucking thing I've read all day!
I should close Reddit while I'm still on top.
tehgimpage@reddit
lmao that is endless entertainment right there
cheffartsonurfood@reddit
Might have the wrong generation.
Winter-0f-Discontent@reddit
Yeah, Gen X here, and he was a little before my time … you’d have to be on the very early edge of X (or someone whose parents let them stay up way too late at like 7 years old lol)
Steveseriesofnumbers@reddit
Not strictly true. There was a Mr. Bill short on the VHS for Ernest Rides Again. The short was "Mr. Bill Goes to Washington."
QuickStreet4161@reddit
He was all I could think about when getting my first mammogram.
Steveseriesofnumbers@reddit
Ooohhhhh nooooooo!

He's gonna be mean to me!
Confident-Lead4337@reddit
You can get Mr. Bill dog chew toys on amazon lol
kristospherein@reddit
Our Mr. Bill was sadly beheaded. The culprit is still unknown. Did he say Oh No before it happened, we will never know.
Low-Tie2969@reddit
oh yes " Oh Nooooooooooooooo Mr.Bill " i got the toy - but no longer says _ Oh Noooooo- but still cute
Rshields_388@reddit
Omg yes!
Sufficient-Aspect77@reddit
I just started
to watch Ernest Rides Again (free on YouTube), there was a Mr. Bill short at the beginning.
Mr. Bill becomes the President. It was sad that I would literally rather have a claymation figurine as President than the one we have now in America.
Anyways, it was a fun Mr. Bill, aside from that thought creeping in.
PantherBrewery@reddit
Mr Bill, ex-car toy.
Nikkianne617@reddit
One of my cats favorite toys 🩷🩷🤣🤣
ShyFungi@reddit
I loved Mr Bill. I think he’s more of a product of the 70s? Pretty sure I was watching midday reruns of old SNL episodes.
ElGranQuesoRojo@reddit
After he was done on SNL in '81 he was in commercials and shorts on USA through the rest of 1980s. In the 90s there was a Best of Mr Bill SNL tape that sold fairly well, Ernest Rides Again led w/a Mr Bill Goes to Washington short, and there was a TV show at the end of the decade.
ShyFungi@reddit
Interesting! USA is probably where I saw it.
Shirkaday@reddit
He was before my time, but boomer parents loved SNL so we knew about him, and would also say simma dahn nah and stuff about touching my monkey as kids.
ButterscotchAware402@reddit
I got my cat Mr. Bill cat toy. Any time I see her bunny kicking it I let out a good "ooooh nooooo!"
Nervous-Rush-4465@reddit
I have his book!
Agreeable_Peak_6100@reddit
I always liked when he got dropped from somewhere high and got smushed on the landing.
WilliamGrantham80@reddit
ABSOLUTELY!
No-Emu-8717@reddit
I went as Mr Bill for Halloween one year. I don't have a pic anymore unfortunately. Maybe this year will be time for a revisit
lakatos_intolerant@reddit
Haha Mr. Bill still makes me laugh.
mines13@reddit
He’s chillin’ in my home office right now.
Foreign_Trick_5328@reddit
I used to put on my own Mr. Bill shows with his dog and Sluggo - all made out of play-doh for my parents, who let me stay up late to watch SNL back in the early 80’s.
MaddyKet@reddit
I also have that dude and he’s sitting on a rooster my niece gave me. Long story 😹
There are also dog toys that go ohhhnoooooo
PatchworkGirl82@reddit
One random bit of trivia that's stuck with me, is that Mr. Hands was originally played by Ellen Degeneres's brother.
draculawater@reddit
My dad gave me this exact Mr. Bill toy for a laugh and it became one of my son’s favorite things to play with up until about age 5. Loved those segments and to a lesser extent, the Pizza Hut ads paying homage.
EclipseCaste@reddit
Still have nightmares
hammalamma@reddit
My middle name is William, I was called Mr Bill all through the 80's
ReturntoForever3116@reddit
They made this joke on The Office and I didn't get it.
I had stretch Armstrong though.
