Oh no, I just found that the real fruit snacks (like with the strawberry ones) have little hard bits in them - it kind of put me off them

If it's Bear Fruit YoYos you're referring to, you can buy them anywhere.

They're usually found in the single serve confectionary section of big supermarkets or near the snack section of convenience size Tescos and Sainsburys.

Failing that, check your local Boots / H&B snack section. My ex was obsessed with them so I'd always look out for them, and now I can't not notice them.

I don't consume confectionary. However, I do see the vegan label there at the bottom, so it might be a good idea to try those free-from vegan gummies they sell in the health section of some supermarkets.

You can consume quite a bit of vitamin C before it becomes problematic, I wouldn't push it too much though because kidney stones sounds like a bad time.

I haven't had them in years, hell I dont even remember the last time I bought them or if they even exist because I avoid looking at the chocolate bar area where they'd be, but how about fruit pastels? They're certainly less hard than wine gums. Although as I haven't had the gummies you're talking about but go to your local supermarket and try a few store brand sweets to see if any are similar.
