Acting like children

i dont know why it pushes my buttons so much. my younger sister (two and a bit decades seperate us in age) absolutly love her but i get the vibe her and her generation still act like babies, they stick stickers on things have toys they carry around, call the folks 5 times a day, its kinda gross. like grow up, cut the apron strings, dont be so sensitive about everything. this is kinda the generation we raised WtF went wrong? or are they ok and its a me problem?

I talk to both of my parents at least once a day along with random texts to both, just one, whatever. I also talk to both my in-laws everyday,
I’m completely independent and have been since I left for college 30 something years ago. I just really love these folks and don’t like going a day without hearing from them.
I hope I feel the same kind of love and care from my kids one day.
I can’t imagine there being anything weird or peculiar about talking to your aging parents everyday. I never want them to feel abandoned and lonely.

I have no color left in my beard whatsoever. Currently wearing a N64 tshirt.
Just spent 400 hours since December finishing a videogame. When hanging out with my nieces and nephews, totally more excited to play with their toys with them than they are. Definitely think it is a mindset, obviously make sure that all the adulting is done before you dive into whatever fun stuff you wanna do don't downplay the kid stuff. Slowing down the week that you have is easy if you add spontaneity to it, doing stupid fun kid stuff actually helps here.
If my mum were still around, knowing what I know now, there would be multiple hour long facetimes and many more visits. I spent a lot of time talking to mum, even arguing sometimes, it wasn't enough.

You can have my argumentative older brother.
ONROSREPUS@reddit
Do you want my, "I'm always right" sister?
Epicassion@reddit
Almost, but not quite an even trade.

I'm a 51 year old married woman. I carry a Hello Kitty purse and one of my favorite t-shirts has Strawberry Shortcake on it. If my mom was still alive I'd gladly talk to her multiple times a day. Does any of this affect you? Why do you care about what makes others happy?
tanhauser_gates_@reddit
I would do anything to be able to call my mom 5 times a day.
is this rage bait?

I am 60 and my bedroom has 2 Cars blankets, a Planes blanket, and a smiley blanket. My living room has smileys, superballs and a few other toys. My craft room has smileys and plushies.

Things I don’t care about because they have zero effect on me:
How my siblings act. Sure, I think my kid brother is a dumbass most of the time, but I don’t spend time fretting over it.
theinvisablewoman@reddit (OP)
I dont think i fret over it. Just sometimes when it crosses my path i realise it pushes my this is weird button. And im not sure why. I have always enjoyed hanging out with her, but just dont understand those behaviours in adults. The other comments seem to indicate its a me issue. Which is kinda what i was thinking. Would never try and dampen her so better i check this stuff with random internet stranges than people we know.
Cinisajoy2@reddit
Maybe try an in your books not an adult behavior. There are even coloring books for adults now.
Ceorl_Lounge@reddit
Only catch is when/if the dumbassery becomes your problem. Then I tend to care... a lot. And not in a happy helpful way.
Cinisajoy2@reddit

ranting on dumb social media posts complaining about things that don't impact them in any way, etc etc etc, the list goes on and on...
Bubbly_Following7930@reddit
It's a you problem.
I have stickers on some of my own things. Big deal.
pjhk75@reddit
People being happy makes you angry? Yeah, they should really stop doing that. Heaven forbid you have to check yourself when everyone in your world should just adjust to your expectations.
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
It's a you problem. Why do you even care what they do if it doesn't affect you personally? We're the "whatever" generation. We aren't supposed to care or be bothered by the personality quirks of others.
not-a-regular-mom@reddit
People can’t enjoy anything in this dumpster fire world we’re living in unless it meets with your approval??? GTFO
90Carat@reddit
"Don't be so sensitive about everything...". Huh, maybe follow your own advice?
Western-Calendar-352@reddit
This is definitely on you.
RaulDuke_76@reddit
It’s always been this way I think
copperfrog42@reddit
I like stickers and plushies, what’s wrong with that? The world is a rough place, let people have their little joys.

It’s a you issue. Let her live her own life
lsp2005@reddit
It’s you. Let her be her. She has her own life.
