We need these signs everywhere!

I stumbled upon this sign in GTA Online yesterday, and I think we should have them everywhere.

There's nothing funnier than truckers bitching about other truckers being comfortable while they drive
Oh NO someone at loves had flip flops on while fueling their truck π‘π€¬ππ
Radiant_Swan187@reddit
Crazy. I didnt know chaining down steel coils at a stell mill was considered "driving"
nekaiser@reddit
Come here driver, I need to scan you with my Terrorbyte. Letβs see how often you visit the shoe storeβ¦
Gotsnuffy@reddit
Let me ask you a real question? Why do you care? Are you a big company that if your driver gets injured you have to pay workers comp or something? The fuck do you care lmao.
ShoddySpace5680@reddit
Honestly I just hate seeing those disgusting feet π
Spare-Good-5372@reddit
FMCSR clearly states we are supposed to have a heeled shoe on. So sneakers are out, too.
TwoToadsKick@reddit
It's true, I only wear high heels whilst driving
Spare-Good-5372@reddit
You know I got them motherfuckin red bottoms on

AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Do heelies count?
Duchess1992@reddit
No it doesn't. There's no rule dictating what kind of shoes you can wear set by the FMCSA or DOT.
Spare-Good-5372@reddit
I mean, yeah, it used to, back in the 90s when I got licensed. Had to be a low heel, like cowboy boots or work boots. May not say it anymore; I haven't had a copy in a couple decades.
Duchess1992@reddit
There has never been a ban or a footwear requirement in the FMCSA.
Black000betty@reddit
That just means the shoe secures around your heel. Sandals with a heel strap, not flip flops, are perfectly legal.

Corporate idiocy.
If a "big metal thing" is in a position to crush my toes as I walk to the office to get paperwork, then I'll be lucky if all it takes is my toes.
Like, if a big steel pipe falls on you, steel toed shoes aren't going to prevent it from crushing the rest of your body.

Back when I used to deliver and pick up at a steel mill, I got stuck behind some dick head who was arguing with security because they refused to let him on the property, apparently ol' goofy didn't have a single pair of closed toed footwear, so they turned him away. I still laugh to myself thinking about that sometimes π

When I was a door swinger I had shorts, swears and a couple pairs of chinos when I was feeling fancy. I had no jeans. I find jeans incredibly uncomfortable the way they rub on my legs driving all day. I got turned away from some plant somewhere in the south one time because you had to wear jeans. I had regular shoes and/or boots, a hard hat and a high vis jacket and vest but nope, no jeans and you can't be on the property without them. The only time I would need to be out of the truck was to check in to shipping. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―

π I get regular dry van/reefer guys not having steel toes, but they didn't even have a pair of sneakers running what I assume was flatbed!? I spent so many years out in the oil patch, hard-toe boots are just what I wear all the time.
Nero-Danteson@reddit
I'm a dry van driver with steel toes. Mega carrier so I knew going to a mine wasn't outside the realm of possibility. We also go in and out of industrial areas so it's just wise decision making. Plus they're my lazy shoes when I don't feel like tying up my other boots.
FireryDawn@reddit
I do furniture, and half my week is literally just swapping trailers.
My company still buys me steel toe boots, and they just sit in the sidebox until i need them!.
NJNeal17@reddit
Don't you get a free pair of floppies when they hand you your CDL? π
Nero-Danteson@reddit
Nah I got tha San Quentin 5s
kloyoh@reddit
U still playing gta5? Lol
HappyRockD@reddit (OP)
Lol yeah, I find myself back here for a couple of months every two or three years. I was burning out on Arc Raiders, and I wanted to check out the new content. It's painful getting used to the clunky controls and UI all over again.

Day 1 player here, Iβm old enough that I preordered GTA 3 when I was in college.
I still play GTA online weekly, just not as much as I used to. Iβve got everything in the game and hundreds of millions between my wallet, bank and chip accounts. I mostly play heists now, especially Doomsday.
HappyRockD@reddit (OP)
Man, I remember day 1. Was so pumped to join a server, then just sat in the clouds most of the day. It was such a shit show. Gamers would lose their shit if a game acted like that today. Then after you finally get in and successfully play a deathmatch, everyone in that lobby was just dumped all in the same spot. It was chaos. Good times.
flopjul@reddit
GTA 5 Online still gets updated quite often
Duchess1992@reddit
I wear flip flops while I drive. If I go somewhere that says I can't, I just change shoes
