Corruption hit the highest levels during his reign. He is protecting the corrupted politicians openly(because he's the real one pulling the strings). Living in the country is becoming a luxury only a handful of people can afford. The same people that have the power to build resort in your property and the government is not bating an eye, take the water of the villagers to sell it for their own interest, while leaving the people in drought. Food safety is quite inexistent. Old people get a 150-200 Eur pension per month. I can go on and on with these but all I know people are fleeing the country as they see no hope. They have changed the voting system also so it harder for the new parties to enter the system.

Television is highly controlled by the government but thank God we live in the era of social media and people nowadays use the latter, more than TV. Gen Z and Millennials get their news from socials. The only ones still watching news anchors are Boomers.

I agree with you but there are some things we should take in consideration. If the voting system is inclusive and the vote has the same value no matter how big the party is. The day of the voting is regular most than any eastern country. The atmosphere of campaign is the problem, which comes to blackmailing as you already mentioned. But i think this is the second main reason. The first is the electoral code.

So, it is the problem of the system. Both big parties cut a deal that would set siphon the little parties. They can not get into parliament withought getting 50k votes at the very least, while the same amount of votes awards big parties 4 deputies.

Yes, exactly. Without Turkey as a NATO ally, Europe is really unsafe. France and the UK may have some strength combined, but they are not as geographically close to Russia and I'm not sure they'd send their boys to die for the Baltic states or Georgia. Turkey on the other hand has every incentive to keep the Russians from taking over too much of the Black Sea coastline. And it has a very strong and well trained military. So it's essentially a vital friend of Europe regardless of who is in power, as long as its military is opposed to Russian expansion. I'm talking in strict geopolitical terms, not sentimental values about democracy and transparency. Europe needs Turkey at the moment, especially given the mixed signals from the US.
