Fellow Balkaners, is your family occasionally insulting you by saying you dont have enough sex a thing or is my family just quirky?

For example: I was fighting with my mother over food preparation some time around new years and she told me I'm only kicking up such a fuss over it cause I am frustrated I never get any.
So, is this a thing?
drunkguyfrommunich@reddit
I think its more a redneck slav thing. Luckily my family never asks me things like that.
EdoValhalla77@reddit
To be honest i thought Balkan people are far more conservative when it comes to sex. But to my surprise my Bosnian muslim in-laws family and other Bosnians i know talk about it far more then i would ever thought. Any time my brother in laws complain for a headache or are in bad mood inlaws like to bring subject is he getting any you know what at home. If my wife was in bad mood my late father in law used to tell take her home and do her good so she dont act like witch.
Just-Big4708@reddit
I'm a Muslim and was also shocked about the same thing of Bosnian, they are very easy, and not that strict, i know some aren't that strict about pre marriage sex, and some drink alcohol. I know that even here in the Gulf people aren't that strict anymore, but I always had different ideas of Bosnians. I'm not saying they are bad, or anything. Everyone is free with how religious they are.
EdoValhalla77@reddit
I am not shocked because they are Muslims and have that progressive mind sett. I was surprised that people in balkan including Bosnians, have that non conservative views on sex, since western views are always that Balkan are among very conservative places regardless of religion. We in Norway specifically in the South west have places that are far more conservative then Balkan in general. It’s very refreshing.
Just-Big4708@reddit
That's Interesting about Norway. I should read more of that.
blodskaal@reddit
Balkan parents/relatives can be quite the hoot sometimes.
What did you say to that? That's what I want to know
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
Well it was a few months ago, so I dont remember, but since she sad it after I kept pointing out "when have you seen someone do that" is not a good reason not to do something a more efficient way, I probably just stared at her with the silent understanding that anything I say would be pointless. That or screamed something at her back and angrily went into my room (and then came back out few seconds after cause we had to finish doing it and I didn't want my internet cut).
Professional-Fee-488@reddit
When I was about 11 or 12 years old my father kept saying how puberty is hitting me hard and how he's going to pay a prostitute for me so I could calm the fuck down and be over with it, mind you I was a perfectly normal child, not overly emotional or anything.
Just-Big4708@reddit
😭😭😭😭 my dear god
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
Bruh...
Upstairs-Challenge92@reddit
My mother spent my whole 17th year singing that Maja Šuput song - 17 Mi Je Godina at me, so yeah
Now that they know I’m having sex I get teased over other things, for instance the fact I’m still not engaged, they can’t make up their mind if I’m too skinny or too fat (at 52 kg) and they have a problem with me not yet having any kids.
Family always finds something to complain about

I'm starting to think if you actually turned into their personal perfect child, they'd start quietly fuming from the ears. 😂
blodskaal@reddit
That clip is gold
backhand_english@reddit
Što je, sinko? Ne jebeš ništa, a?
blodskaal@reddit
I laughed out loud reading this in the elevator, everyone had worried looks on their faces.
Thanks lol

Some_General_3740@reddit
It's a common thing.
Playful-Falcon-6243@reddit
Absolutely not.
35BCx1405AD@reddit
Looking at the comments, this is more a Slavic thing I guess……..
ImamTrump@reddit
Bro got told he needs to get laid 😭
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
"incel" was an insult long before internet it seems.
Otherwise-Drawer-169@reddit
in Romania we say something like "it's from the lack of sex" (nefutut) when someone is moody or angry for no reason
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
Yep, that's what I was referring to.
Otherwise-Drawer-169@reddit
For us it's not necessarily meant to be insulting....
gefratttt@reddit
Jebes li sto i zasto ne
J0hnnyBlazer@reddit
It’s normal, adults where asking me if I’m fucking anything at around age 8
Sport_Middle@reddit
Hahhahahah buraz
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
I know its a thing to semi jokingly ask, but is it ever used as an insult?
J0hnnyBlazer@reddit
Ye 100%, specially if said during argument, she insulted your whole existens, brought out all your insecurities and spit at em to make you stfu and do what she says. Standard Balkan parenting tbh
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
> she insulted your whole existens, brought out all your insecurities and spit at em to make you stfu and do what she says.
Yep, that's what I was talking about.
J0hnnyBlazer@reddit
Standard procedure
JRJenss@reddit
There's the opposite side of this coin with conservative folks like mine but in the end, it all boils down to the same old balkan procedure, as you say.
For example, my old man when I was 14 - 15: Veli susjeda Barica da se opet kurvaš dok nas nema doma.
J0hnnyBlazer@reddit
Lmfao, your dad calling you a whore does not count as a opposite conservative side
JRJenss@reddit
Well, kinda does. He wasn't approving of it, he was seriously pissed off, and I definitely wasn't whoring...just had a gf, lol! My point is, regardless of what side this type of behaviour comes from, it ends up being the same sh*t in these parts. 😂
CamelAmbitious7425@reddit
Ej mali, Guziš li što?
J0hnnyBlazer@reddit
uncle?
Antique-Function2746@reddit
Globally it is not normal but in Balkan yes.
determine96@reddit
It happens sometimes.
My grandma used to say to me when I was mad, to go and "hit one" in the toilet (don't know the expression in English but she was talking about a "handjob").
Plus we have a saying in Bulgaria that the sex is just for prestige, the handjob is for pleasure.
reallycooldude456@reddit
hahaha that is absurd dude hahaha
Jazzlike-Moose3123@reddit
Do you live in holland or something?
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
Nope, Balkan born and raised.
Jazzlike-Moose3123@reddit
Where in balkans? interesting?
Fluid_Intention_875@reddit
South Slavs have a habit of saying these things, not something you can easily hear in Turkey
Jazzlike-Moose3123@reddit
yeah a bit extreme for us.
realMLsanta@reddit
Go on, tell us why u named Holland
Jazzlike-Moose3123@reddit
bro this is balkans sub? you think people care who they offend?
holland is very liberal when it comes to weed, sexual stuff, gay marriage etc. I thought its a matching pattern when a dutch mom says ''are you getting any?'' balkans are more conservative.
There you go you knew but asked anyway lol
the-joatmon@reddit
that pattern in your mind. I spent 30+ years in turkey and 5+ in netherlands. believe me being homosexual and using weed etc is waaaaay more common in turkey.
Jazzlike-Moose3123@reddit
I didnt say i know the best i have no prejudices. You might be right sure.
realMLsanta@reddit
Because you are trying to project people in Holland ask their kids in this way if they had sex? Reality check for you; they don’t
stuyvesant1@reddit
It is weird. Maybe it is acceptable in the lower classes of society.
Additional-Gur7915@reddit
It's normal for a friend to tell you that. Not normal for a mother to do so.
ilijadwa@reddit
Personally my family were way too conservative to ever make a comment like that
Zinc-Roof_22@reddit
It's not entirely unheard of, but it's not common.
ChiefKeefSossaa@reddit
From which country are you?
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
I'm one of those paranoid people who don't like reveling their exact country of residence.
BardhyliX@reddit
I can definitely say you're not Albanian for starters.
I can never ever imagine an Albanian mother talking like that...
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
Hey, I sad "is this a thing or is my family odd" cause they are odd in some other ways, I was just wondering if this is one too.
BardhyliX@reddit
I obviously can't talk for everyone but ngl I can't imagine any mother I know talk like that to their son.
Maybe some male cousins sure.
kerrybom@reddit
Lame
Third_Rate_Duelist_@reddit
Mine insult me in the same way, but for other reasons, like not going outside enough or not having a good haircut.
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
Holy shit same! I joked I'm going to buy a plant pot and put some grass there so nobody can say I never touch it.
Synthesia92@reddit
Hell no.
Professional_Fun839@reddit
My male family members were asking me always hows the situation and do i have something for them 🤣
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
I know that's a thing, I meant more using it as an insult in anger.
Skt_turbo@reddit
No way its absolutely Tabu Topic to talk any Sexual Topics or even use Rude/Sexual language with any Female family Member.
With my Father or Uncle its obvious a difference Scenario in my Case.
slysmile@reddit
This is one of the most hilarious ways I've seen someone report on themselves. Well done OP. Don't you ever delete this. This is historic.
Fourteen14XIV@reddit (OP)
LOL!
btweenthatormohammad@reddit
Weird thing for a parent to say to their kid.
